Hello,
I flashed the X10s Final Release, and it' just great. But i had a problem with it, couldn't download anything from the market, and everytime i got a sms or mms the network made a wierd kind of reset and misssed the message .
I searched the forum for entire 2 days, tried every single thing people suggested but no joy. So i flashed back a generic 2.3.3 and everything were back in place.
I managed to get the reboot option and battery level indicator, now i'm trying to understand the steps to edit de comand lines to have the screenshot option on the power buttom, this achojan stock rom have more features ? Is there any known bug related ?
Thanks!

The X10s Rom is working fine on my phone, also had the Playstore/Market error but fixed it by going to settings, applications,Manage Aplications, All,GoogleServices Framework... clear data and I was able to download from Market. (achojan lite has less features, although it has the screenshot on power menu option, but it doesn't have restart and lots of other app. its faster...but X10s is better, althogh I find Feralab V20 2 b alot more stable but slower in comparison).
X10s is the best right now...but it lacks volume control hack for changing tracks. really need to get this patch. (even Poweramps own isn't working).

Feralab V20 with doomkernal + V20 fix pack works great for me...lightening fast. Volume control change track works too...

Try to think about TUG gaming rom. Its fast and best battery life of any roms I tried, and i tried more then 15 roms.

XPERIA x10 mini -some questions-

Today I bought a xperia x10 mini. updated to latest firmware thru pc companion.
But i just can't keep my fingers out of it , this is also my first android phone and i don't have a clue about firmware mods and how to instal.
I would like to update to gingerbread to get the full experience.
How do I do that ? what's the first thing i have to do before making the steps described in this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 ?
I really don't want to brick it or something like that because I bought it without warranty.
And excuse me for starting a new tread on a subject thats probably answered but my isp speed is rubbish and browsing thru xda is very slow.
Thank you in advance and for all the great work in WinMo , had a lot of fun!
You make sure your firmware is updated to 2.1.1.c.0.0 and your baseband is updated too. Then install CWM recovery ( search for it) then put MiniCM7.zip to sdcard and also gapps. Rename minicm7 to update.zip. Then reboot phone. When the SE logo appears, hit the back buton repeatedly then from the recovery menu, choose install from update.zip and when done, install from custom zip and choose gapps and reboot and yay!
This should be moved to Q&A btw.

Correct. But you missed out one crucial point. ROOT!
After updating firmware/baseband but before installing recovery, download 'SuperOneClick' and root your phone otherwise you'll not be able to install xrecovery/cwm.
Enjoy your phone.
<i>The world will end if I don't have a (Tapatalk) signature.</i>
-Root
-put minicm7 to sdcard (you'd better read the topic requirements)
-install Clockworkmod
-reboot and when you see sony ericsson white logo, press the back button repeatedly till you see cwm menu
-choose update from custom zip or sth like that and choose minicm7.zip
-wait and reboot
There you go!
tnx!
and another thing does gingerbread bring any battery improvements ? speed and other hardware improvements? and also i have read that with gingerbread you can get only vga shooting? is that true ?
In case of camera, lot of things don't work. It's VGA limited, no flash, no autofocus. Also you can't read QR codes due to no autofocus. At least this is what i remember from miniCM7 v.2.0.2. but i guess it's the same, since changelog doesn't mention any improvements or fixes in this area. I wouldn't recommend you the gingerbread right now. Froyo is much more stable & bug-free. I don't know what improvements you are expecting, but the best battery life & performance you can achieve with tweaked factory ROM, since ported drivers in custom ROMs are not exclusively developed. But what custom ROMs lack in performance, they gain in feature-rich code from CyanogenMOD. And miniCM has one hell of a theme too!
after experimenting with diferent versions i decided to stick with official 2.1.1.a.0.6 it's fast , stable and does not suck that much battery. but even so i modded with undervolt , cpu tuner to lower cpu in call and standby , deactivated all ( background data , wi-fi , bt etc ) and still the battery lasts me 1,5 days and i didn't gave it a hard use.
why would you put all of these functions if you cant use them? had a htc diamond and gave it away for the same reason.
is there anything else to do to it ? i was thinking to make a portable charger

Oh man, i also had a HTC Diamond before Mini And to answer your question, my battery lasts for almost exactly 24h, but I use it to full potential: With 3G always on I'm syncing mails, instapaper, RSS & have lots of background apps to alter the UI the way I want. And basically the only thing I do to help battery life apart from what you've already mentioned is that from time to time when I charge phone to 100%, i reboot to recovery & wipe battery data. Then boot to OS & let it completely drain. This always seem to help.
it seems there are some flaws in some aplications.
did a repair with seus , undervolted , setcpu and instaled only known good programs. it now consumes 50% battery with heavy usage a day ( messenger , browsing , background data , brightness to max , music , calls , 3g on ) and with no memory booster or task killer. i suspect awd.launcer it works fine a day or two but after it becomes a bit slow ...
anyway im glad i don't have to sell it no more

It's just one great app! It turns off data traffic when screen goes off, but turns data periodically on for synchronizing mails/twitter/etc. And when you wake up your phone, it takes like a second until the data traffic is on again, so you won't even notice it's been off & it saves a great deal of battery life! And there are more settings...for wifi, or to turn off everything during night etc...

Neo V Official Sony ICS 4.1.A.0.562 fw bug report thread

First of all I know there is a thread for feed back of new ICS fw,but instead bug reporting that thread contains more pleas, hatred towards Sony doubt devs from Sony will keep on reading it.
So in this thread please post the bugs you've found so far with the fw.So we can direct this to Sony devs & if they care(they did asked opinions, bug reposrts about fw in Sony forums so I assume they do care) they will try to fix them
So I'll start
+.Very choppy video recording.
+.Big battery drains
+.Loads of older games crash after 30 seconds
+.No wifi direct
+.System is kinda slow and lag comparing to ginger bread
+.Not great ram management, phone sort of freezes when using more than few apps at the same time.
+.Home launcher lags comparing to ginger bread ones
+.It takes 3-4 seconds for Dialer to load :/
+.Didn't had face unlock after the update.Had to flash gapps to get it
+.Keyboard's keys are kinda smaller and not that easy to type
+.All the setted contact pictures are gone from contacts and only thumbnails are left :/
So far I've found.please post the bugs you found and help to get a better ICS fw
you will get face unlock when you open google play.
it's silently updating.
no need to flash gapps.

Games are rather matter of game developers not compatible with ICS I think.
this my problem :
1. Battery drain. If i used wifi, and switch it off...battery more faster decreased, have to reboot phone for make battery back to normal...
2. Dialer slow loading... am i used phone with 600Mhz???
I wonder, why there is no power notification widget in this update...
My issues:
A little battery drain, but ROM is recently installed so I will give time to stabilize.
Wifi is buggy. Takes ten minutes connecting one meter from the router. Wpa.
Any times takes half hour... And in other routers connects instantly.
Can be night elf kernel?
Notification led doesn't work for missed calls! I searched in the phone's menu but there is no option to enable it!

In GB there was an additional option to completely disable USB action. MTP/Mass storage + "Disable usb".
Browser kept crashing and crashing.
Problems with Google Picasa Web synchronization. The albums from my picasa account just don't appear when I want to upload new files. There's a problem with facebook-google accounts synchro.
Some apps shows 'segmentation error' when trying to move them to the phone (system apps2sd). Cleaning data, uninstalling and installing back doesn't help. Link2SD or other App2SD from the market does not help - a little strange problem, probably new installation could help
Sometimes app drawer seems laggy - in comparison to GB, which had quicker response
Poor memory management - GB seemed to run more user apps at the same time quite smoothly
That is all after one day of heavy exploring by my daugther
Hmm how its possible that the ics not running smooth by all??
Mine is ok, no lag in menu and homescreen scrolling (i use the xperia s home now) no lag when i open settings etc, app2sd is working fine on ics no problems (i use app2sd pro 2.50 the newest one) no camera problems no fc's or anything else, its all f*cking amezing and fast

I don't know if this is a bug or something... but the widget for favorite contacts is missing. I kinda like that widget...
I am not experiencing the camera, gps, and wifi problems that is posted here.

When you install it as a clean install it is faster, but when u update it via pc companion or flash without flashing user data it tends to get slower. So best way to move to ICS(or any other rom in that manner) is to do a fresh clean install

This is true people. YOU HAVE TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL FOR IT TO WORK PROPERLY!
The first time I updated it, it was buggy as hell!
I then did a clean install (repair phone on pc companion) then it was smooth running since then. Memory management is amazing, no scroll lag, UI is great, multi tasking is better... I dont know about u guys but im likin it!
OT: is the UI on this is different drom nordic? It seems that they aee hating the UI but I see no fault on mine.

I did a fresh with pc companion twice a time, 1st time i had the modded music player from xperia s, and i know that was tiving me fc's so i repair my Neo V with pcc and that was the 2nd time, so you are right bro a fresh brand new install is better !!!!

Official ICS Bug Report
Using this firmware for past 3 days now,
1. A little laggy Interface than GB, but using a third party Launcher fixes it till some extend.
2. Video recording quality is not as in GB. Also is choppy.
3. Gyroscope doesnt work in Maps. Checked with Compass Application works flawlessly, not in Maps.
I might switch back to GB soon...
Its not as if im not fond of ICS... But for me, its still a bit RAW. I really like the UI, functions, etc however its a bit buggy on the 3 main tasks wich I use my phone(Wifi, camera and temple run)... Untl these can be fixed, I thnk im staying with gb first. Btw, I find ics not to be laggy on its stock state however, once u install mods fr system ui and others, it kinda lags a bit. Too bad.

[ROM]Cm7 nightly rom and miui 2.4updated rom.

CM7 NIGHTLY VERSION CWM FLASHABLE ROM.
I have flashed this CM7 NIGHTLY rom from CLOCKWORK MOD on my cm7 rom i was using.Everything seems to be okay with this rom.
Like the cm7 rom, it doesnt require additional google apps and ussd codes package.
Both packges seems to be included in this version.
Using these roms for 7days with not much of a problem. It gave force close error 2-3 times during application. but it seems stable still.Just like the cm7 rom.
i also tested miui rom which is v 2.4. it seems be much better than the 2.3(or may be lower) version earlier posted here in xda.Same as cm7 nightly, miui rom also doesnt require flashing googleapps and ussc codes packages.I reaaly dnt like miui at all.neither earlier one nor this one!!

Btw did it solve the mute in call issue?

Any camera improvements? boot time speed up? Radio app working? kindly give us some details mate
2g/3g changing issue in miui rom
I don't have any problems with any of the roms...except that the fm radio in both keeps force closing...otherwise everything is working...including 2g/3g
Sent from my Dell Venue using xda app-developers app
in MIUI rom by hdjack try to go to settings>mobile networy type selection and try to open it it will always force closes.
Mute is working in this cm7 rom.I never used that feature when i had earlier version of cm7.
But in this version when i needed to mute, it did work.
I found phone to be slightly less sensitive to touch and may be just a bit slower.or it may be my imagination?? who knows!
It works well n im enjoying it.

Yes u r right...it doesn't work...it FCs...but it is automatically set to 3g preferred network anyways...
Sent from my Dell Venue using xda app-developers app
yes 3g is by default which is good but in my country 3g is little overpriced thats why i use 2g and in this rom i cant set it back to 2g
dude i am from india also...i know the prices of 3g...but i dont get that problem...it always stays in 2g...it changes only if u activate 3g...anyways...cm7 doesnt have that problem and the old miui rom also didnt have that problem...
yah other roms doesnt have this problem but it will be cool if someone figure it out how to correct it
Can some one provide in depth review or changes / advancements with this new nightly ROM
i am using the miui rom of hdjack for nearly 1 month.
basically it has no problem at all. rom is smooth better and u can also get overclock kernel upto 1190. one thing i noticed that sound quality is little better than the previous miui rom.
the only problem in this rom as i mentioned earlier is u cant select the network type as 2g/3g. it will always give force closes when u try to change it.
and if u use overclock kernel may be sometime ur dell venue will reboot itself but not everytime sometime.
but all the other things are working flawlessly
regards
I have found a workaround for 2g/3g changing.
type *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone information then scroll down to set preferred network type and there u can change to gsm only or wcdma only or other option as u like.
Hope this help.
Sent from my Dell Venue using xda premium
Will try it right away...let's see...and I don't like the lockscreen in the miui rom...liked the previous lockscreen though...and my 2g net sucks as I can't download new lockscreens for my phone...it always says cannot connect to network

Using MIUI v2.4.27
Camera quality is not as good as froyo stock rom
Camera shutter is also slower than froyo
50% of the calls, the other party can't hear me (some say sound is garbled). I have to hang up and call again for it to work. Its particularly frustrating when some one new is calling you... since they don't hear you.. they disconnect the call and sometime don't call back
Battery life is bad.. have to use battery saver apps like 2x battery to make the battery last 12 hours.
gaming is bad.. just about all games lag.
3g/2g cannot be selected using ui.

[Q] questions on [ROM]MIUI v4-2.6.22 for X10 Mini Pro |Released| 26/6/12

I have been using this ROM for some time now, and since the update allowing super user its has worked rather well,
I was wondering if anyone can post some fixes for the following problems (I'm a new user so I cannot post on the development page),
the audio does not work with headphones, I have tried many different types but it will simply play music out loud with or without headphones,
the inbuilt themes, I can download them and apply them but the theme will not change,
poor 3g connection, very tempremental but usable, (I did not have this issue with cm9 mini, cm7 or prime)
wifi - it can detect wifi but when I attempt to connect it is a failure, could this possible be due to my router ??
rotation - auto rotate does not work making it slightly harder to use on-screen keyboard
I can confirm a good battery life, specially in comparison to cm9,
runes smoothly, good battery life and smooth interface with 748MHz-19MHz [smartassV2] overclocking
If any one can make and update.zip or send me specific .apk's ect to fix any of these issues please do so, further more I would like for someone to post the issue of the headphones not being recognized on the actual thread,
Make sure to have NAA kernel 11 installed.

I have the latest ICS kernel installed and it worked fine with nAn's CM9 port but it very temperamental on miui, my on screen keyboard will not appear at times whilst other times it works relatively well or my screen will not wake after it is unlocked (i will be able to unlock the screen and click on apps but the screen is completely off) the only way I can fix it is locking and unlocking the screen multiple times so it catches up :S
but by far the headphone jack not recognizing any of my headphones including the standard set you get with the phone is my biggest issue, I love my music, the issues hasn't been mentioned on the ROM page so I'm unaware if its just effecting me, which would mean I've done something wrong or it is an actual bug that has been overlooked
thank you for the quick response by the way :good:
There is another MIUI rom, by stelios97, where the headphones don't work either, but he suggests a workaround Take a look here and see if that fixes your problem.

[Q] (Sola) Identifing Poor Response

By poor response I mean:
- press power button, phone wakes very, very slowly
- enter phonebook/dialer/messages and the phone moves very, very, very, very slowly ( I can't dial or type or anything)
- phone rings and the screen doesn't go on for a long time, when it does I cannot answer the call for about 10 seconds
Restarting the phone doesn't help, reinstalling the software with SUS or PCC doesn't help. Deleting many apps doesn't help. Removing SD card doesn't help.
Why does it do this? How to solve? This has happened on every version of Sony ICS that I've used. Should I try to disable a core or what? I really don't know. I really have to ask this now because I can't figure it out, and I'm missing important calls etc.
Atleast I can solve phonebook and dialer problem
Use ex dialer
Its simple very fast and can be themed

Thanks guys. I have only used Go stuff on custom ROMS, I'll try it on stock now.
The thing about custom ROMS to me is...you fix 3 problems and 3 new ones are created. There is a great and popular ROM available at the moment that I tested the last 5 versions of and; 1) it doesn't wake when I press power, 2) reboots often 3) lights don't work etc. but it is very speedy and smooth. Hmm

There is a great and popular ROM available at the moment that I tested the last 5 versions of and; 1) it doesn't wake when I press power, 2) reboots often 3) lights don't work etc. but it is very speedy and smooth. Hmm

there's always two side of a coin..... so its same here if you want performance then you have to sacrifice something or other for it.....

Two sides of the same coin...indeed, story of my life, I want everything lol
Maybe it would be OK to say the ROM. I've tried many, but most like CM9. There are so many things I liked about it, but not waking up was really bad and reboots is a little unreliable.

Honestly, I've tried about the last 5 of them...I follow the instructions as they are, and I always backup, wipe everything etc.
I set up another thread recently investigating the hardware requirments of ICS/Jelly Bean etc. to see from a hardware point what you need to get your phone running well. I think I know a bit more now thankfully but my next investigation is exactly what cars are crashing inside this damn phone...
I'm going to test another custom ROM today...here's hoping. There are a lot of alpha ROMS out there which look awesome but are very much in development...

No need for a custom rom
