Is Chainfire 3D works with U20i?
I was wondering bcoz when I downloaded Chainfire 3D from the google play store and installed it.
It turns my device off and then when I reboot it again, it stuck on the bootscreen nAa freedom within..
Any explaination on this?
It won't work on ANY Android 3.x, 4.x devices.

Thanks babe for replying ^^
There are plenty of reports on Chainfire3D's thread of people with ICS who have no problems with the app.
Now, the problem may lie with the particular ROM, kernel, or a particular combination of ROM and kernel. Tho it may be possible that U20i has problems with ICS/Chainfire3D.
Saying that it won't work on ANY Android 3.x, 4.x devices is missinformation.

As i see we will never get cyanogenMod or MIUI... Even if our bootloader gets hacked!!! Everyone will work for x10 big and we just get stuck with SE... Please somebody tell me this is lieeeeeeee!!!!
I hope that doesn't be the case..
I'd guess it'd be safe to assume that once the X10 gets cracked, our Minis will follow soon, just as happened with the initial rooting
Actually it got cracked and there already are some custom ROMs for big x10 with froyo or eclair. So i hope ROMs for mini will be here soon.
For some strange reason developers don't want to release the source code for their hack until next year.
Unlike the custom rom project, we have x10 mini owners trying to crack the bootloader problem, so don't lose faith completely.
Now, with xrecovery to x10 mini/pro almost 100% functional (backup and recovery are perfects), is possible YES.
what do you mean xrecovery for mini I thought it was only for x10i !!

just install and boot into xrecovery and then launch the ddms.bat found in the tools folder of the android sdk.
alternatively you can download Droidexplorer and use its screencast function.
NOTE: You can only use a windows pc with pc companion installed to connect to x10mini using adb.

Hey so I'm coming from the i9000 section I'm very confident with flashing ROMS and mods and stuff like that but obviously every phone is different, what would be the best most stable ROM ? What I'm looking for
*stock styling (stock launcher like in 2.1)
*good battery life
*stability
*lots of features
*the slide to remove notification feature (this is probably my biggest ask, if there is a mod that can do this on stock firmware it would be great)
*clear instructions to check if bootloader is locked and if it is how to unlock it
*clear rooting and flashing guide thanks
By the way looking for this for mini pro

I would start with MiniCM7Pro by Paul-xxx from this link.
It looks close to stock Android Gingerbread and it doesn't require you to mess with your bootloader or a custom kernel.
Steps are:
Get Flashtool
Root the phone
Install CWM
Press the backbutton on kernel-logo to get into CWM.
In CWM do the usual wipes (factory-reset/data, cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats)
Then install the ROM from your sd-card and reboot
Thanks a lot! since it is on 2.1 can I just use a once click app method? To do this then use ROM manager to install cwm?

Don't have experience with ROM manager, if it works on stock 2.1 then it will probably install CWM fine, I've got a CWM install zip for xRecovery (I install xRecovery with flashtool ,then install zip from sd-card and choose the CWM-install zip)
It is in a thread here somewhere, can't remember where though.
After that just flash the ROM with it.
Thanks a lot if it isn't to much to ask what exactly would I need to unlock the boot loader for?

search for S1Tool, it will give you the information you need to determine if it is safe to unlock your bootloader. (basically, if you have an SEMC simlock certificate you should be ok, if it states unknown simlock certificate, you're more than likely to brick your phone) (and look on the sticker under the back-cover of the phone, if it's on or after (year)11(week)29 (11w29) there is a chance of hard-bricking your phone too)
If it is safe, there is an unlock-option in Flashtool, under the plugins-menu that should do the trick.
Thanks what's the advantages of having it unlocked?

I disagree, minicm9 works better then minicm7 in terms of speed and stability. Not to mention the UI of ICS is better then GB. All I have issue is with video playback (qualcomm's fault).

Lol, it is NOT Qualcomm's fault, they would have helped if it was possible. If anyone is to blame, it is Google, for choosing a newer SOC with more possibilities as base for ICS.

for me the best ROM is MINICM9. The only things that need to be ironed out are the Loudspeaker distortion, the earpiece sound bug while in a call and the lagginess when opening an app or someone is calling. Otherwise its perfect! (for me at least)
Thanks I just checked her phone tonight it was under the year week thing with right baseband and update version for miniprocm7 but didn't have access to a of so couldn't check sim lock, so assuming that's okay do I just connect it check unlock bootloader and run? Nothing in particular's bad w/r/t the stock ROM. It just isn't most people's cup of tea. Chip's ROM is pretty cool, though I'm limited in experience (onyl stock, Eryigit, and Chip's ROMs, to date) What I like about Chip's ROM is that it's up to date and is constantly in development, the style of it (ICS-theme), and that most of the bloatware's been removed. It's very operational and customizable. Plus, many of the "hacks" that he's introduced via init.d or elsewhere (courtesy of St. Matis; I've added a few of my own and deleted a few). He's edited the framework (or gathered it from another source) to get rid of that pesky "Cell Standby" thing that shows up as a battery drain (functionally irrelevant, but annoying nonetheless) and included a number of apps as stock that many here would install anyway. Look at the thread yourself and check its features

Disinstall all driver, make a clean install of the USB driver 1.5.6, install ODIN 1.8 and thats all...You have all you need to write a custom kernel from the stock one.
In Downolad mode the player is visible just from ODIN...i remember...
Otherwise, after installing the c.kernel, from the device recovery you can do all (c.rom-stock-kernel.zip addon).
