hi there my friend gave my his galaxy s2 gti9100 but it has a dot unlock code and he forgot what that was and his google account now i dont think the phone has usb debugging on (unless it was turned on when the phone first started) i tried flashing another rom with odin but it still asks for a passcode plus it wont let me go into recovery for some reson (or download mode unless i put in my usb jig)
so if anyone could help that would be great (also does anyone know if thats a odin thing that can wipe the internal storage)
I Will thanks if you help me

Try to connect to adb and type
Code:
rm /data/system/gesture.key
reboot

The one thing i am surprised is that you cant flash a stock rom via odin.... Why? Its not supposed to ask for a security code.... Unless the bootloader is locked?... Cant get this off my mind... I have never experienced this issue even though ive flashed many times...
Edit: No. Odin does not wipe the internal sd card. All documents and media are safe. Only app, app data and settings, and system settings are deleted.

CM9 is flashable via odin (if you use the noob-proof instructions), but to update it you will need to access recovery.

Desperately need help.

This is slightly off topic, but I desperately need help.
I put ICS on my Dads Samsung Galaxy a few days ago, and left him to it after that. He decided he didn't like it and without asking me about it, decided to restore it back to GB through CWM recovery. He's now stuck on the boot screen every time he starts his phone.
I'd really appreciate some help here guys.
Thanks in advance.

try wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot from recovey...
if no hope try wipe data factory reset and do again a restore..
I like your dad's decision - the way he went about it is obviously flawed...
Standard bootloop? Flash stock etc. Backup?

Wipe data/cache from the recovery menu and then try a restore.
if doesnt work probably there are some corrupt files in the backup so wipe and then flash the rom you(your dad ) want.

Also, the reason for him wishing to restore was something to do with the fact his phone calls weren't working. He said he posted on here through this account and got no reply so decided to try and restore it.
He can make and answer calls, but he can't hear or be heard by the other person.

OP, I thought you said your dad's phone is a Galaxy S, not an S2? Well this is a link to S2 firmwares.
Edit: went back and read... Yup, you said he is stuck on the i9000 screen. You are better off asking for i9000 help in the i9000 forums...else people will assume you are talking about an i9100, and tell you to do things for the i9100, like above.

I posted in there, and got no response. It's like a graveyard in there!

S2 bootloop. Yes i used search.

Alright. So i decided to get jellybean resurrection on my tel.
Everything went good etc but when i try to start up it starts up does everything.
Then you get the ressurection remix logo and it stays there..
When i used search i read flash it back with odin? etc
I read it but still i have no clue on what to do.
Yes you have to use Odin to flash a stock firmware. You can get stock firmware for your phone (providing it is the i9100) from sammobile.com.

By the way, to set up Odin, download Kies for the drivers, but kill off Kies processes in the Task Manager and make sure you run Odin with Administrator Rights.

Wipe data/cache in recovery.
Wipe dalvik cache.
Then flash the Resurrection Remix zip again.
(RR's previous build was ICS, moving to JB, you need to wipe cache and data).
If you need your data and other settings etc you need to reflash ICS RR, backup, then flash JB RR.

When the ROM is booting it usually stays on the Samsung logo for a few minutes as it boots/builds dalvik-cache and all that jazz.
How long did you wait?
Do you have Odin already?
You'll need to download a stock ROM to flash first of all, or if you want there is am Odin flashable version of the jellybean ROM you flashed.

Oh OK, you'll need to flash it so.
download whatever stock ROM you need from samfirmware.com or the jellybean leaked one (Odin in title) and we'll talk then. (700+mb)
You can flash whatever firmware you want from samfirmware.com (obviously for gt-i9300) but region doesn't matter, I used XXBLG8 firmware. (UK)

Chainfire didn't get rid of your recovery, stock android has a file in ota's which overwrites custom recoveries on boot, i think flashing cf-root seems to solve this problem, I still have my custom recovery after several reboots.
Chainfire3d may not be compatible with sammy jellybean just yet.

Is my S5830i destined for the bin?

Ok to cut a long story short I've had to send my HTC One back off for repair so it will be away for a week or so, so I still have a GT-S5380i that I was given from my dad as a spare, thought what the hell last night and decided to flash a custom rom to make it at least a little bit better than it is as stock. So I spotted Touchwiz-Resurrected ROM and followed the guide on how to root and install clockwork mod, which was fine then flashed the rom, that seemed to go fine until I noticed no data or cellular connection and someone said I've probably lost my imei, checked that and he was correct the IMEI was blank, so basically thought what the hell flash back a stock rom using odin, did that and all seemed well, odin reported success and rebooted to be stuck at the Samsung splash screen and that's as far as I can get, I can get into download mode but no matter which version of odin I use or which stock rom I try and flash I cannot get past the splash screen despite odin saying it succeeded, I can also still get into cwm but that seems to take ages?? done full wipes reinstalls blah blah but cant get it to boot
So obviously somewhere along the line I've messed up but the fact I can get into download mode and cwm made me think I could somehow get it back?
Any ideas?

Cant mount problem EFS

Hi guys, my mom has a Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 (GT-S7710) It was working for a long time until now. I cant install original firmware it keeps looping at the samsung logo, cant install CWM. Odin shows that's installed but the vanilla recovery is on instead. I have a E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument) error at the bottom but that should be fixed by installing cwm but it cant be installed, any help would be really appreciated.

Don't flash cwm, just stock firmware from
sammobile.com
That need to fix a problem.
When you flash firmware with odin, make sure that all drivers are properly installed, then start with flashing.
When loop happens after flash, just go to stock recovery and do the factory reset, that must to fix the problem 100%

Still gives me the failed to mount error. Also forgot to mention that I have another kind of error that says did not match sized /system/csc/common/system/csc/others.xml (No data available), I am afraid that these errors are internal and I need to change the phone

I tried everything, tried multiple firmwares, NOTHING worked. I give up. I suspect that's something internal. I have no warranty so my mom will probs have to get a new phone, :/
