Broken kick stand - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I tried to search and look for this issue but I couldn't find it.
Got my phone back in July, love it, works great. But my kick stand is loose. I never used it alot, but its loose. If I hold my phone top facing up, the kick stand falls. Its really loose. Can I fix this somehow or do you think sprint will do anything? Don't really mees it I just don't want it to be flopping around. I was thinking about gluing it. Any info would be great!

That should be a relatively easy fix for your local sprint store... And should be covered under warranty (if applicable)

There is a silver nut that controls the tightness of the kickstand. If you can tighten that it will fix your issue.

Back Cover

Aghhh!!! Is anyone else having a hard time putting their back cover on perfectly? I've pressed down so hard on the area (mhl and above) and still won't budge! Any tips?

Same here. why couldnt they have the ones that slide off like the phones before. so much easier to take off.

I asked this same question few days ago also and the best tip I got was to start on the opposite side of the camera and peel it off..I now have replacement batteries to change every day and found out if you do it the way then just peel it open like a book ...you don't have to do it hard...it gets used to openning and comes right off. I really don't mind if the back falls off becuase I always have a case on it...hard it silicone and it hoods it in place. I still do this very carefully. I realize tho many will not like this...but I gotta work with what I have...don't like it....but till replacement backs come on the market...it will do.
Its like the area above the mhl has a gap no matter how hard I press it won't go down.

Never mind. HTC being the kick-ass company they are is sending me a new back cover free of charge!
Mine also has a small gap just beside the headphone jack. It just doesn't line up very well right there.

Dust Under the Screen

Has anyone got dust under their Amaze yet?
I have dust under mine and I'm wondering if there was any way (easy or not) to get it out. I emailed Wind and checked if maybe they could do something about it since I'm still under warranty, but if my warranty is one use only then I'll save it for when it's actually something more important.

Yeah, I had it on the first one I had, couple days ago. I got mine exchanged for other reasons but this one did not come with dusts under the screen new. But it did come with this strong women perfume scent, because they replaced mine with open boxed one. I hope this goes away soon, because.my palms always smells like a girl now...

try alcohol wipes, and wipe everywhere, back cover etc. Most of the smell will be gone.

In case you didn't know, I meant dust...
I've taken my Droid Incredible apart, to replace both speakers.
Why would the bezel be in the way of the back of the screen?
I have to take the bezel off to get to the front of the camera?
I think I'll learn to ignore the dust, maybe in a year I'll see, but this is too new to me...

The only way to fix that issue is to disassemble the phone and replace the front camera. Then make sure you tighten it enough so that dust can't get in. Hit thanks if that helps.

Stripped Bezel Mod.

So, a while back, a few people mentioned dinging or scratching the bezel around the screen to find it was metal, and from there a few people asked if anyone had gone so far as to strip the paint off to reveal the metal. Ala: iPhone silver bezel style.
Well, I did just that. I have the pix posted over on Infected Forum.

I thought about doing this after my phones paint started fading but it ended up breaking and got a replacement. How did you removed the paint? I was going to try some kind of paint remover so the metal doesnt get scratched up or maybe buff it off with a dremmel fabric tip. The metal under there doesn't look uniform or is that due to the way you took the picture? I think also shoulda left the one by the camera button and switch black.
EDIT: NM about my question of how you did it, I just read the rest of the other thread to see exactly what you did.

I thought about a paint remover but was hesitant of that with the screen and such. I'm good with a Dremel, so I used that. I also figured the tip I used was going to cause an uneven look, which is what I was... Not "hoping for" but figuring would.happen and was prepared to go on to the next step of getting that out. But I liked the raw look that happened and wanted to keep it. Kindof looking forward to it oxidizing. Lol.

No, you see there are other comments that aren't positive. They also aren't **** about it. Constructive criticism is welcome. I get that it won't be loved, most would prefer the shiny approach, of which, I'm sick off and prefer gritty, old, industrial look.

Rear cover glossy to matte conversion - Sandblasting Method

I've seen many different approaches to turning the rear cover into a matte finish, and it inspired me to try my own. As well as getting tired of the constant wiping of the fingerprints...
I realized my work has a Sandblaster, which I used to take the glossy finish off the cover. I prefer this method to others because there are no stickers to peel off, and no visible swirl marks which I've seen from the Sand Paper method.
I realize not everyone has access to a Sandblaster, so this method will not work for everybody.
I will also be modifying the bottom piece to more closely match the top, as soon as I figure out how to remove it.
Below are the pictures for your enjoyment

No Problem! Let me know if you need any help.
BTW, I removed the circle lens cover before sandblasting the back cover. It breaks the little plastic welds when you push on it with your thumb. It can be glued back on, or just popped back into place, there is no difference once the back cover is on.
Yeah, that looks fantastic. Much more uniform than other matte methods.

Xtremeguard Screen Protector Review

I have tried Zagg HD, Skinomi, and Xtremeguard, all wet applications, and have found Xtremeguard is the best. They apply very easily and truly self heal. I have purposely gouged it and saw it return to normal right before my eyes. It seemed a little rubbery at first, but after a few days of use, it feels more like glass. They do not come with a proximity sensor cut out, but my phone has never had an issue with that. I would imagine one can be cut out with a whole puncher, though, prior to application if needed. Now, these are VERY inexpensive especially if you Google search for coupons. I ended up paying about a dollar with free shipping. Their packaging is nothing but a piece of cardboard in an envelope and you need to make your own solution, but instructions are provided. I believe this must be how they keep their cost low. Customer support is awesome and they sent me out a whole new free shipment when I received one damaged. I installed one on my Evo View as well and the stylus works perfectly.
