Download and install your update manualy. See item 2 and 3 in my signature on where to get it and how to do it. Uninstall Kies ( it`s a piece of crap ) exept the drivers.

It is still possible update via kies?

Yes if you want, but there is no need anymore to use Kies, if there is a Kies update it will also be available on Sammobile to download and install

I second this "Kies SUCKS"
.....have not used it since my Cappy days.

One Kies will only update the product and codes shown if their is an actual update for them . Wrong codes = no update . Correct codes but no update for them = firmware not updated by a vendor .
Do you have any proof that LH1 is available for your phone and whatever codes its showing Kies .
LH1 can be downloaded via CHECKFUS if its available for your phone .
More information on Kies try a Kies or Samsung forum .

Sorry mate, I am newbie. What do you mean of correct product code?
I have checked the firmware which i flashed is matched with my country original firmware.
The most updated firmware in my country is LH3, I flash leak rom(LI2) before, and now I have flashed back to LG3(my country previous firmware), but kies said my LG3 is most updated rom and it means KIES does not show latest firmware. It should be one more update. I know I can flash updated firmware via odin3. I want to solve it, because 4.1.1 stock rom will be available soon.

One what's download mode got to do with Kies ??? Kies does not use download mode .
Either let Kies update or use Odin not both at once .

Well Kies does reboot the phone to download mode before it updates the firmware but I think this is where it seems to be failing for most people, after getting to download mode it does nada and the update fails.
Just use Odin to update.

Thanks if i update via odin i risk to lost some files and i lost the root?
As per the post .
Flash KE2 full Root flash KE2 kernel only .
Risk about 99% safe and about 99.99% recoverable from a problem anyway on SGS1/2
PS i thought you meant 3 button download before with Kies

[Q] Can I Update after rooting ?

I'm asking if I have rooted my phone , can I update my phone with Offical Updates using Samsung Kies in future?!
Yes you can, but you'll need to root it again after updated.
Kies will tell you you can't. You'd have to do that through odin.

Why is that so? I have upgraded from rooted KE8 to KF3 via Kies. Kies won't detect your phone if it is rooted or not as long as you are on Stock ROM. Although, it's a different story if you are on a Custom ROM.
Regards.

Kies firmware upgrade Question

I get this message from my Kies "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies".
Current Firmware version : I9100ZSKI3/I9100ZSKI3/I9100XXI3/I9100ZSKI3
What should I do to get this SGS2 working with Kies auto upgrade firmware ?
My SGS2 product code : GT-I9100LKAKOR
thanks
Did you flash a modem from another firmware, is your rom an offical one?
You have two option download firmware from link in forum and flash using odin.
Flash correct modem for current firmware and try updating via kies..

This firmware is package of PDA, modem, csc in 3 files.
Honestly you can forget upgrading through kies and use Odin or mobile Odin.
There is an app called checkfus which will tell you if there is an upgrade for your carrier in your region.
Then from intratechs thread you can download whatever official firmware you want and flash using Odin or even better mobile Odin which will root the firmware at the same time as you flash it.
I know I haven't answered your question but Odin/mobile Odin in my opinion are better options.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
As ace of Clubs said you can wait for Kies to upgrade whenever and its not a guarantee that you get updates even on original firmware and once you mess with firmware its pot luck as to Kies updating .

My SGS3 is rooted. I just recieved an OTA update. But...!

The device will reboot to recovery mode (CWM) and do nothing.
I'm guessing the CWM is the problem here.
Is there any safe solution for this? I don't want to wipe or backup or anything if possible.
Is there a way to just reverse the root?
ICS 4.0.4
Baseband version: I9300XXLF2
Build number: IMM76D.I9300XXALF2
Thanks for the help.
Just make the update with kies and reflash root with odin after update

No, I have Kies and I use. I just can't find the upgrade option.
For christ`s sake choose, if you want root forget about Samsung or stick with Samsung and forget about XDA. You can`t have it both ways :silly:

Please come back again when you can read. My problem is definitely not with rooting.
I'm having an issue with upgrading the firmware through the phone.
I would like to listen to you when you get off your high horse.

If you are rooted and you want to keep root delete FotaClient.apk and FWUpgrade.apk.in system/apps, you will not be bothered then with OTA`s.. For upgrades go to www.sammobile.com/firmware and flash the rom you downloaded with Odin v3 3.0.4.and reroot afterwards or flash with Mobile Odin Pro and keep root. See item 2 and 3 of my signature. Cheers mate from my high horse

OTA update works with ClockworkMod Touch Recovery v6.0.1.4 (http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager)
It will fail signature validation and then give you an option to install anyway...

Well, you obviously can't flash a stock FOTA with CWM, you need a stock recovery (Don't know why) and then you can flash FOTAs..
Try flashing firmware using Kies, or downloading it from http://sammobile.com/firmware and flash it with Odin. Both will work

you can't update when your using a test release, you will need to flash stockrom first, and then you can update trough kies again.. the official firmware's you can find at samfirmware (google it)
follow your usual rom guide's on how to flash, sammobile provides with guide's themselfs too
best of luck mate.
