Galaxy Ace s5830i memory card issue - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi guys, was hoping anyone can let me know what the problem is.
My handset is a month old, but the problem was from day one. I keep getting a error that the phone says my sd card was removed without being unmounted, while the card is still in the device. i have tried the following micro sd and sdhc card all brand new card but to no avail (2Gb scandisk, 8Gb Kingston and 16Gb Kingston), this doesnt happen so much with the 2gb in.
The phone also has a new pc board installed ( cause i bricked the first time )
Any suggestions ? is this a software issue maybe ? seeing as the sd card works and reads after its been dismounted.
Thanks
Bierman

SD Card mount error

i have recently bought a TG01, when i got it it was running the orange WM6.1 rom, it wouldnt detect either my 4GB or 8GB micro sd cards, i had to lend a 1GB card to run the official 6.5 update, now the 4 and 8gb cards are detected but whenever i try to flash a rom i get SD Mount error after it loads the SDDL. anyone know why this would happen and if it could be due to that its been partitioned for use on a hero previously?

From the beginning we have problem with the cards. You can find more info in (http://www.modaco.com/content/toshi...m/291115/toshiba-tg01-memory-card-corruption/).
Try to format your card and start from 0.

Try to format your card and start from 0. I had this problem but don't remember with witch program I format the sd card. Wen I bought my TG01 it show me just 1GB and the card was 8GB then I find some info that you need to format y our card but I didn't find now where is this info. In the modaco web you can find more info and in google about this.
ive tried formatting it several times, the phone picks up the card fine when in winmo, i just cant flash any roms with it as the SDDL cant mount it.

To format your card use (“sdfv2000.exe”) I uploaded for you. Try it if not working I have an other solution.
Same Issue.
I have been having the same issue since day 1. Has driven me insane with program's icons that are loaded up on the sd card not showing up properly in the start menu, they always have a blank icon on them. Has really driven me crazy. Has anyone found a solution to this?
try and use sddl+ to flash the rom instead of just sddl
Already did that.

Thank you for your advice however I already tried that potential solution and many different roms and radios, I tried formatting my SD card with the Panasonic sd card format utility, but no luck. Would getting a class 10 Kingston card be a smart idea? Or maybe I need to buy a slower Transflash card? I have a 4GB Class 6 from SanDisk but the same error occurs. Do I and the other people have defective phones, or is this an issue that can be solved? What should I do?

I've never had a problem with SD Card. Now I bought a 16GB Kingston Class 10. I have no problem with the card, work properly.
Getting a class 10.
Tell ya what, I will get the class 10 cuz more space is always good, I will let everyone know if it has solved the problem. Before I do this, I am just going to buy an el-cheapo class nothing sd card and see if the same problem occurs and then I will have tested the range so to speak. I will report anything interesting.

[Q] Size and type of Micro SD card - HD2

I purchased an 8gb Micro SD card for my HD2 but seem to be having all sorts of problems trying to get Android builds running from it!
The card is a 8GB MICRO SD HC SDHC (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230511127179) and it struggles to either load the firmware or carry on running it if it does load up.
If I then put the firmware on the 2gb card, that came with the phone, it will load up fine and continue to run without any problems. The only difference, other than size, is that the 2gb card doesn't appear to be a 'HC' card. Is it this that is causing the issue? Have I purchased a card that is too fast/too slow for the phone or shouldn't it matter?
Thanks in advance for your advice on this.

[Q] SD Card Unexpectedly Removed

Hi Everyone,
I have recently purchased a secondhand HTC Legend,
and a new Kingston 16GB Class 4 Micro SDHC Card.
Android 2.2 Froyo is Installed
(Blayo's Froyo Rom)
(I have a 256MB MicroSD & 4GB Micro SDHC Card that I have tested and they work fine.)
When I write to the SD Card, such as take a picture or download an app from the market, the phone says "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed".
I have tried:
Reformatting the SD Card on Windows and on the Phone via Clockworkmod recovery. (My Phone is Rooted)
Scanning the SD Card via Windows Error Checking
chkdsk via command prompt
Scanning for errors via Drive Restore Pro
Buying a new Sandisk 16GB Class 4 Micro SDHC Card - Same Error.
Is there anything else that I can do?
Any advice that can be given is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
dont be a fool it seems that its the rom's fault it might not support the file system of your sd cards.Dont keep buying new ones....just go back to your stock rom
Thank you for your reply.
I flashed the stock Froyo rom, but the problem still persisted.
After some more research I found that downgrading to 2.1 can resolve the issue, so I tried it and it did.
My only question now: Is there anyway to make this work in the stock Froyo rom?

Media process and SD card issue, need help

Hello,
Hoping someone can help with this issue.
My phone is an international galaxy s3. Bought september 2012 with a class 10 sandisk 32GB SDCard. Around november, suddenly, phone keeps displaying "preparing sd card", "damaged sd card", etc. when phone wakes up from sleep, this causes media process to continually run in the background, killing battery. Force stopping the Media process doesn't help as after sometime, Media process will run again.
I solved the issue by buying another SDcard, same brand, class 10 32GB as well.
And now, after 2 months, same issue reappeared with my new SD card! Displayed the same preparing sd card issue, and now my phone seldom deep sleeps because of the android.process.media process. It keeps sending wake locks.
Anybody knows what the issue is and how to solve?
Thank you very much
Same problem here, I'm on my third SD now and after a week or so the same problem happens?
Carry out a proper test of the SD card .

I managed to temporarily solve the problem by buying another sd card (my 3rd SD as well), but this time I bought a class 4 16GB one.
One thing I noticed, when using ES file explorer, and checking the last modified of the SD cards (the old ones), it shows as 1970-01-01. When I reformat it, it goes back to the correct last modified date, but over time it goes back to 1970. This new SD card still shows the correct last modified date so far.
@JJEgan: I did try that SD card test tool from before (1st SD card) and didn't show any problems. I doubt it is a fake one though, I bought it in Korea with the hologram packaging and all, the 2nd one I bought in the Philippines but also looks legit (using SD test tool app also seems fine for both).
@sam77744: I already tried a factory reset. and formatted SD card in the PC, in the galaxy s3 itself, same problem.
Is it possible for the phone to mess up with the SD card over time? In such a way that even if you format the SD card lots of times, it will really not work well with the phone anymore?
By the way, my phone ran 4.04 then upgraded to 4.1.1 over the lifespan of the 1st sd card, then 4.1.1 and then upgraded to 4.1.2 over the lifespan of the 2nd sd card. Stock ROM, never rooted, updated 4.1.1 via Kies and 4.1.2 via OTA.
Will be grateful to any ideas on what might be wrong and how to permanently fix, I can't keep buying new SD cards every month
Download the SD Formatting tool, available for free from the manufacturers association's website. I've had several cards over the years that corrupted after formatting in the phone, but were okay after using the tool.
I'm not convinced that class 10 cards are the best option for phones, yes for cameras where only a small number of large files of written, but in phones where a large number of small files are written a class 6 might be better for real life use.
