ere is the process that this guide will take you through:
1) Flashing your T959P back to 2.2.1 Stock (This gives a nice fresh starting point)
2) Bring the phone up to Stock 2.3.4, and do a factory data reset.
3) Install the SGH-T959P-Stock_plus_Voodoo_CWM_2.3.4.tar to root the stock 2.3.4, and install Voodoo lagfix / ClockworkMod recovery.
But I am thinking all I have done at the worse is put the wrong CWM on my phone so i am working on fixing that.
1. do I ahve the right CWM recovery tar? got it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021
2. is there something wrong with my computer that is stopping the flash -- so I have tried 1.85 and 3.07, tried different ports on the same computer, pulled the battery on the phone, tried a different cable, and of course stop and start odin, now I am moving to a different computer.

Launch odin with admin powers (sudo/su for linux, or whatever).
Then click PDA and select the tar.md5 file and start.

Have you tried a different USB port? Also re-installing the drivers might work.
Hope it helps, Good luck.
Your drivers up to date?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Check the file you are trying to odin. I all but guarantee that you have a corrupt file on your hands.
EDIT:
To be a tad more specific:
Download the odin patch again two more times. Either make sure you can unpack the tar, check the corresponding md5sums, or simply look at the file byte sizes to see if two are identical. Odin really freaks out if you give it bad files.
That is a good thing! Far better that than flash bad data to your pda.
Swyped w/ XDA App. When in doubt, mumble.

When you say odin patch I guess you mean the 'CWMrecovery.tar'
I can unpack it and I have a 'recovery.bin' and a 'zImage' inside the file.
both 5081 KB in every 'CWMrecovery.tar' that I have.
Weird. My old copy from Nov. 26 is 9.93MB (10,414,130 bytes). It contains zImage and recovery.bin, each 5,202,168 bytes. I must be wrong, then.
EDIT:
Just for sake of good practice, I did look up the md5 for that file and I did download it again, and they do match. There are a lot of ways to get MD5s, I used a program called digestIT 2004 to generate it.
http://goo.gl/HELdr
ecfeb7b1633786c1ae9dfb276bfeb231 CWMrecovery.tar
I had no problems downloading it, the hosting is good. It's highly unlikely that I was right about resolving your Odin error.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. I did this once way way back when and had no issues. I did have an issue with a modem.bin packed in a tar later on, and the errors looked a lot like what you are getting now, so I assumed it was the same problem. Thanks for humoring me, and good luck.
I'm a nub.. help..
So I've been trying to follow directions here, but I feel I'm missing something very simple... I cant even get this restore started, it keeps telling me "Invalid Image Type" when i select the CWMrecovery.tar file?? help??
it could be that Kies, or other application that uses USB connection is active.

Did you make sure you are in Download mode, and the drivers were installed correctly? Also, did you make sure you added the kernel file in the correct section? (without ticking any unnecessary things)
Yes.
Now it wont switch on.
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
Did you tick the PIT box?
Edit - sorry, just reread, you haven't. I hope..
No i didn't. I restored the original firmware but it still wont turn on normally.
Did you have kies running in the background? Make sure you end all kies applications - end process
Nope had shut kies.
Could be a cable failure. Try a different USB cable.
I only have 1 cable. I restored the kernels and it went green that it worked. But my phone doesn't work.

You can get a new USB cable for a couple of bucks. I've got like 6 due to all the devices I've had over the years, and 2 of them are bad. They don't last forever.
Managed to restore device using tutorial i found on google androidcute.*com/install-android-2-3-6-gingerbread-for-samsung-galaxy-s2.html
after restoring i decided to give rooting another go.
all worked out fine, i installed rom manager after and it keeps rebooting itself after every few mins
i have cpu tuner installed too i also restored the original kernel after rooting.

ROM Manager is the devil. I don't think it plays well with CWM. How are you rooting? If you root using a CF-Root kernel, it will auto-install the CWM app, which I believe does everything ROM Manager does.
I used S2 Root, i uninstalled rom manager though.

Last time I had this issue, it was some app I installed, but I couldn't figure out which one. I flashed back to stock and was more selective in which apps I chose to reinstall. I've also made sure that all the apps are on phone memory instead of SD card as there was some speculation flying around that this could also contribute to this issue. Haven't had a random reboot in months now.
Friends,
I tried to follow the instructions given in a web page to complete the flashing of new firmware for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi. When I used the md5 file and pressed start, after some time the flash failed and the tab power turned off.
I also downloaded the actual latest firmware file named P7510UEKMM_XABKMM_USA_Android_3.2 and tried to use the md5 file in this one and this also failed.
And there were instructions like the below but I could not find anywhere those md5 files.
Click BOOTLOADER button and select: BOOTLOADER_P7510xxxxx_CL317542.tar.md5
Click PDA button and select: CODE_P7510xxxxx_CL317542_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.m d5
Click CSC button and select: CSC_P7510Oxxxxx.tar.md5

Can you get into download mode? If so then go here:
www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1#osa
Download the rom for your tab, unzip it (if it wants a password is either samfirmware.com or samsung-firmwares.com) and put the extracted file (either it will be a .md5 or a .tar file) to the PDA section and flash!
Report back any problem you might have.
EDIT: What is the site that you got your instructions from?

ROM?
@Panos - Thanks
I downloaded from a different site tsar3000.com but they are talking about many md5 files which were not there in the downloader.
I tried again with another site androiddevices.com but that also did not help.
I will try downloading the zip file for USA from the site you have mentioned and report back issues if any.
BTW - will this zip file contain the ROM file.. not sure what this ROM file mean? and should I unzip or expand the md5 file?
Kindly advice.
Just unzip the file you will download and you will have a file with a .tar or .mr5 extension. Use this file "as is" on the PDA section of odin, just like melodystyle2003 said! This is the rom file you ask for. Rom and firmware is the same thing.
Sent from my amazing 10.1 galaxy tab
Yes inside zip file you ve downloaded you ll see a. MD5 file, around ~500mb or more. This file is the Rom.
Connect to pc, tablet in download mode, select pda on Odin1.85 program, choose this Md5 file, and press start. After 2'06" your tablet will reboot itself and Odin1 should be turned green showing OK or Ready. That's it!

WoW - Awesome.. THANKYOU VERY MUCH..
It worked. I wiped out the data and rebooted the tab.. It worked.
Is there any next steps I should follow? How to customize it to self (just like Apple Id in iPAD)?
Kindly advice.
Glad you made it work again!
As for setup just follow welcome instructions of Android system, are specific and easy to follow. For sure you ll need a Google account if you have not already.

Odin3 v1.85 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi - 32 GB - GT-P7510 Restore Help Please?
Hi please help!
I have:
Odin3 v1.85.exe
Odin3.ini
P7510XABLPL_P7510UELPL_HOME.tar.md5
SS_DL.dll
When I run Odin (as admin), I choose PDA, and select the MD5 file and click Start. It errors out.
Here are the messages when Re-Partition & F. Reset Time are unchecked:

Here are the specific steps I take:
I reboot the tablet. (It goes straight into Download mode by itself because something is screwed up.)
I plug the USB cable into the tablet and the computer. (If it matters, i'm using Win8.1.)
I right-click and run Odin as admin. (The Message on Odin shows "Added!!" because it connected to the tablet.)
I click on PDA, and pick the MD5 file. (It's in the Downloads folder and not buried deep in some long folder path if that matters.)
I made sure Re-Partition & F. Reset Time were unchecked.
I click on Start.
On the tablet, a progress bar shows, but it does not look to move passed the initial percentage of color it shows and it shows 3 new lines in red:

It's not under warranty so taking it to Samsung or whatever is not really going to help me. My wife bought this for me a few years ago now. I rooted it about a month back w/o any issue. (no custom rom or anything used) A month later, I was browsing on it and it froze. I held down power to reboot and it never booted back into Android. I have a feeling it ran out of space. I don't think it's letting me write anything to fix whatever the issue is. I am ok with wiping all data (prefer that at this point). I have a feeling it's not writing to the existing partition properly based on the error messages. Is it possible Flashing is locked? If so, how can I unlock it? If not, how can I wipe and low-level format this thing!?
There are so many bad links and potentially wrong files out there. If someone can save/create the correct files from their GT-P7510, I would appreciate it.
E.g.
PIT
BOOTLOADER
PDA
PHONE
CSC
..and whatever check boxes should or should not be checked.
Any suggestions or ideas would help. Please help!?
Thank you in advance.

Option 1: Reboot your computer and retry
Option 2: Use another USB port and try
Option 3: Use another/original USB cable and try
Well after these 3 options are exhausted..only option left is SC as it means your NAND is corrupted..

i tried to bring the phone to the samsung service center here in philippines but they said they dont have a firmware that match my phone, they can only restore a samsung s3 that came from asia, i think mine is made in spain or mexico, i do not really know but the user manual that comes from the box is in spain language, and the samsung technician said that the only solution is change the main board but they are afraid that it might not work properly if they install a board that came from asian version of s3, and they said that as of now they dont have a board to replace my board, (sorry for my bad english)

That thread is for Verizon SGSIII..have you checked with OP that if it works with GT-I9300?
are you able to go into recovery stock/CWM..if yes..connect to adb... go to shell and type mount..
see the permissions for /dev/block/mmcblk0p09 whether it is ro or rw..if yes then you will have to follow that thread but contact the op first as the two bootchain files are not for GT-I9300

Toolkit for using adb to perform few main operations (push, pull, dump, flash, root, etc). It is usefull if you don't know how to use terminal adb semantic.
Read about it here:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
PS. Befor flashing, launch Odin with Administrator rights (right mouse clic on shortcut or program file - Run as Administrator).
Also remember to store all files in C: drive with short path:
C:\Flash\Odin\...
C:\Flash\Firmware\firmware_version\...
Do not use paths with spaces or unusual chars.

any other suggestions?
Im affraid that you can not do anything more without USB debugging enabled and with no possibility to use service codes.
You cant use adb functionallity in this case which will be your last hope.
Have you tried all Odin versions, even 1.3? You can try to use another data cable, it is standarized and should work one from other phone or even camera - miniUSB to USB.
Maybe you wil find gsm center with riftbox or something simmilar to flash your device.
I'm out of ideas what else can help you.

What does SC mean?
Hey everyone, so I've been using a Cyanogenmod S2 for the past few months and everything was great.
Until recently it started to reboot by itself,
until one day when I woke up "Kernel panic upload mode" was on the screen.
I rebooted the phone,
and then was greeted with a black screen after the Samsung Galaxy S2 screen.
The buttons do light up, but nothing else could be done.
I entered download mode to flash a new firmware,
but then somehow it failed and then it says connect to computer to redownload firmware or something when I boot it on right now.
I can't get it to flash anything at all, whenever I use odin it gets stuck at setup connection,
I installed Kies but it doesn't recognize my phone as well, neither does my computer....
Need help. Desperately. :crying::crying::crying:

That's the problem, I can't seem to get Odin to flash no matter what, I've already tried different versions of Odin,
but they always end up with either this (failure) or stuck at setup connection..
Any ideas, please?
There's been many threads re: this issue on here over the past week listing the troubleshooting steps to go thru when Odin won't work, search for those threads (Immortalneo has listed them, go through his posts as a shortcut).
Edit - Hang on a minute, what model number do you have; what's the sticker on the phone chassis under the battery say ?

I'm using a GT-i19100
I'm going through immortalneo's posts but so far nothing's up..
Am currently following this guide but to no avail, (no .pit file in the compressed .rar file) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40154030&highlight=+pit#post40154030
Edit: I think it's a GT-i19100G because I vaguely remember such a thing on the startup screen...
If you've got an I9100, why are you trying to flash firmware for T-989 ?? I suggest you go back to Samfirmware & get an I9100 stock rom for starters.
Ignore that guide; your phone isn't bricked. However, it may well be if you try & flash a PIT file (Although, if you've somehow flashed firmware for a different model including PIT, you may need to at some point. Just not yet). OK. This is the first & last time I'm posting this stuff for the next month:-
Stuff to try when Odin doesn't work
-----------------------------------
*Must run Odin as administrator in Windoze.
*Ensure Kies & all it's processes aren't running in Windoze task manager. Kill them if they are (choose 'kill process tree').
*Try different USB ports; you must be using a 'powered' or mainboard port.
*Try different USB cables (particularly the cable that came with the phone if you're not using it now)
*Try different versions of Odin (search on here/Google)
*Uninstall Kies, reboot, redownload & reinstall it, reboot, try the flash again.
*Check the rom/kernel you download for corruption. Programs like 7Zip, IZarc, WinRar, etc will allow you to 'test' the rom file you download. If there are any errors/any of the files fail the test, bad download. Try again/try downloading with a different internet connection if it keeps happening.
*Run Windoze Update.
*And if all this fails, try a different PC. And if it won't work first time on another PC, go thru the above steps on that PC.
Hello everyone ..
It could solve the problem? I am in a very similar, and have helped me a lot, but none of the options so far have been effective. I'm starting to resign myself to use it as a paperweight, but still have not lost hope.:crying:

Stop Now :0 ! You are trying to install a T-Mobile T989 firmware.It's a Galaxy s2 too,but from T-Mobile.It's not the same.Search on Sammobile for an I9100 firmware,preferable Android 4.0.3 or 4.0.4.Of course it gives an error,because it's not the right firmware.
Now this thread is just fun!
