Video App with "Film" feel - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it, especially the camera, it shows a lot of potential.
Last night I was searching both the Play Store and Google for an videocam app with more customization of settings, but found none.
I'm just going to tell you straight up what the settings I would like to control, and someone with knowledge can tell me if an app with these settings would even be possible.
Shutter Speed, Fixed ISO, Fps, Focus Time, Vignette, Tint.
Now, I'm no developer, but if you are, feel free to make an App like this... if you do, please include the ability to make and choose presets.
I'd like to be able to make a "film-like" preset which records 24 fps, have a shutterspeed of 1/48, customizable amount of time to focus(when clicking on the screen like the native S3 cam app does). Also, if it's possible, a customizable Vignette effect (a couple of different types + control the amount of Vignette).

[Q] Is there Camera App that takes pic without processing? Best quality?

Hi all, I'm new here and to the android world,
I have a Q:
I am coming from the graphic design and Photoshop and I knew few things about camera and image processing and after looking in the camera app on android I cant find good app that can just take a pic without processing! (sharpening, noise redaction, etc)
I wonder why no 1 made such app that gives the user option to take the natural photo prom the sensor without the stupid image processing algorithm!
I want the natural photo and edit it later in pro software (Photoshop)
Is the app like this?
I'm not sure if it processes images by default as it has effects that can be manually applied in post photography which might mean it takes pictures unprocessed, but I use a replacement camera app called camera zoom fx and it takes much better pics than my phones default camera app so it might be an option to try.
It also has more pre photograph options and modes such as burst and timelapse modes and more ways to control how the picture is taken such as metering controls.
Its not free but there may be a trial version. I bought it when android market had a sale offer on its top apps but its worth even normal full price.

Actually, I like the idea of RAW image format for Android camera. Is it possible?
There are a handful of great camera apps, some free, some not. I like to use Nemus camera, Camera effects ,and Fast burst, these are all free apps. The first two have some cool effect on them and the last app lets you take 30 shots per second. There is one called Camera Zoom FX that is 2 or 3 bucks. I haven't used it but I have read good things about it. Hope that helps.
If you are talking about app that takes no time and provide good quality selfie or pic. I recommend Camera 365 Beauty app...

[REQ] New Camera App...???

Hello, i was wandering, how come noone has developed an app or a tweak for the camera that will give us full control of the settings (shutter etc - i know aperture is a hardware thing).
I mean to give us the ability to choose for example shutter times for up to 30" or even more, since this is a software related issue. The main purpose of something like that is for nightsky portraits, that would give pretty good results, because of the camera's low f ratio and focal length
try Camera FV-5 in the play market
actually, that's a kick-a$$ app! just tried it, and works like a charm, even though, due to hardware limitations, long exposure is limited to 640x480

Simply HDR app alternative

I was an iphone 5 user and made the switch over to the Note 2 recently. One thing I miss is this app called Simply HDR. It's a faux HDR that added some neat effects. I'm no photographer at all so I don't understand your basic photo settings which is why simply HDR was great because you could just choose a pre set and be done.
Does anyone know of an app that does pretty much the same thing, maybe one that I missed?
I have tried pretty much all apps i come across and the only one that comes close is HDR fx. Downside is it is way over done and the photos look over processed and terrible. There is also very few pre sets that create the desired effect.
Have you tried

Are you running a Custom ROM? The aosp cameras have an hdr function.

So far ive tried a lot of different apps. I like the best 'Fotor' and 'Camerace'. The best photo editor is either PicsArt or Aviary.

I purchased the following apps and have had great success with them.
You can see some photos taken with Pro HDR Camera on my Flickr @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/
Pro HDR Camera
HDR FX Pro (Have to play with the settings quite a bit to get the desired effect)
Perfectly Clear (Used to clean up images before sending to HDR FX or perform additional touch-ups after processing with HDR FX)
Pixlr Express (Used to clean up images before sending to HDR FX or perform additional touch-ups after processing with HDR FX and useful for resizing images)
You may also want to take a look at Vignette Camera and Camera FV-5. In my opinion, Camera FV-5 gives you the most control over the settings and pics.
Hope this helps

Hey im back... you can continue with life =)
Unfortuantely the only app that gets close to what im looking to accomplish was photo fx but it was way over processed looking. Ive got to spend time tinkering.
I got an email from the guys at Simplyhdr/JixPix and they plan in releasing simply HDR on android soon hopefully. Its not a natural hdr which most if the apps here seem to be doing actualy hdr function...taking multiple photos and stitching them together. Simlly hdr takes one and creates an hdr effect that seems more dramatic. Hard to explain.
try this...

do you have a sample pic of what you're trying to accomplish?
Just use a camera ... I mean if you are that picky about HDR settings on a cellphone..

App like Nokia pro-cam

Are there any apps that work like Nokia's procam?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cC7tDqtgK4
I've been literally searching for YEARS for an app that actually controls shutter speed, manual focus (through a slider, not touch focus) and ISO. There are a few apps that do one or two of each, but not all of them.
Furthermore, some of the apps that say they control shutter speed, more or less takes multiple quick images and just merges them together. It's not really the same thing. Thanks
I'd be interested in something like this. It's a great app on my 920. Transformed the camera.
Well I'm looking for an app two if you find any do P.M me too
If you find any, please let me know.
Thank you.

(Guide) Record better videos with Lenovo A6000 plus!

Don't ignore this post!! Try it! It works wonders!
Hi guys, I am certain everyone is unhappy with the camera quality of Lenovo A6000 plus, otherwise a great phone. Having used LUMIA 920 for 2 years and LUMIA 520 for 6 months, I was very much disappointed with the camera quality of this phone. I was expecting it to be at least on par with the 'just 5MP' camera of 520 but was proven horribly wrong. The case worsens even more if you are running a custom ROM. So loads of searching and trying all available camera apps on the play store I finally got a solution. I want to share it.
First you will have to download this app 'Cinema FV-5'.
The link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.cinema.lite&hl=de
This is the lite version. Try it, if you like buy it! (This is not my app by the way, just sharing).
1. Open the app, go to settings. In 'General camcorder settings', uncheck 'focus before capturing', and check 'allow capturing videos without focus', this is necessary for continuous focus during recording.
2. In 'Video' tab, check custom video settings, change the video resolution to 1280x720 16:9, change the FPS to 24 and leave everything else as it is, don't change.
3. On the same page 'Video', touch 'set image parameters', you will now be on viewfinder screen. There decrease sharpness to 0 and hit done.
4. Touch the [AF] icon and change the focus mode to continuous like in the image. And you are done!
You won't believe how much difference it makes even compared to stock Lenovo camera. While the stock Lenovo camera makes jarring and VGA quality videos, this app with these of my settings records much much better videos!
For photos -
For photos, you can use the sibling app 'Camera FV-5', go to settings > photo encoding settings > set image parameters and decrease sharpness to 0.

updated OP. Thanks you liked the trick! Sad that many people only view this thread. I hope they try it. I really want to take out the only shortcoming this phone has!!
I test today this program. The colors are more quality but I did not like focus. Some inscriptions I can't read with this program ,but when I use original is more better.

Did you follow every step mentioned by me? It should give you better results than stock camera any day!! At least on a custom ROM! But I believe it will work just as good on stock rom too cause the video recording in stock rom with stock Camera app pretty much sucks!! By no means it looks 720p 'HD', it feels like VGA at 15fps recording. For better focus you need to pay attention to the first and last instruction in the OP. Have a good luck!
