oh ok, I guess I misunderstood some of the posts then
thanks man
Unfortunately the leaked beta test firmware is marked by some posters as official .
Where rejected by Samsung as a valid firmware release is a much better description .

On Sammobile there are new OTA for Sweden it seems they are official

Hardly rejected, they were built as development roms so.... were never going to be official. Samsung don't build full roms then go "is this good enough to release? no? ok lets leak it"

Please don't give people the wrong information.
It was not rejected. It's a development version, a TEST build. You do know what that means, don't you?

For me their has never been any evidence that the leaks are anything but steps in the development of the finished firmware .
Rejected as in fail or only an experiment or step 3 of 10 on the road to a full finished product .
Whatever they are they are billed as official leaks on XDA now to many noobs official means full finished warranted by Samsung firmware .Not leaked work in progress development roms .

Hi I saw some pictures today and I saw that 2.3.5 was flashed on a Galaxy S2,
so is 2.3.5 available for galaxy s2 ? or am I dreaming !

Pics? link? would be first I have heard of this.......but who knows
Next Cyanogenmod nightly (will probably be released today or tomorrow) is already 2.3.5. There is also the Vanilla AOSP which you can find in the development section that it already 2.3.5. Don't expect any changes though. The changes to 2.3.4 concern only Nexus One.

It here galaxyfirmware.com/forum/install-android-235-gingerbread-xxki3-update-samsung-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100.html
It is already available but keep in mind that it is a leaked version for testing and not an official Kies release.
CM7 is 2.3.5 and is out for a long time now.

Nobody can. Its official policy to not share links to original firmwares, since it will put the devs out of work.
For that reason all topics about original firmwares are hidden and cannot be found using the search function.

Two update methods
Kies and OTA OTA is not yet rolled out worldwide .
No update via Kies or OTA means your phone has not yet an update .
KIES = Samsung .com support software .
Guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125282
Ignore Samfirmware for now as you know nothing .
Alternative update path via XDA stock Samsung roms can be flashed often a later version than generally available full roms and instructions are here .
Stock Roms .and csc

At the top of the first post in intratechs thread linked in the above post you will find another link to carrier specific firmware.
Find the carrier (Vodafone Australia) and download the latest one.

It seems you are confused. Or are you just struggling to read english? What one do you see that is rooted?
The ones you have been directed to (stickied at the top of the General section, linked above by pier10) are the same one, (but are hosted on different download sites) and it is NOT rooted, but both pages have instructions on how to root if you want. If you don't want root, just ignore the rooting instructions.
As far as Kies, it will update only if you are still on an official stock Samsung firmware, with the correct CSC for your country. If you haven't flashed any firmwares yourself yet, this is a good bet. But you will have to wait until Samsung updates their servers for your region to say your phone is eligible for an update.

I'm still running stock 4.1.1 but my phone is rooted. It won't accept the 4.2 update and 4.3 will be available soon (already got 4.3 for my Nexus). How do I update without losing the root?
use mobile odin pro it is in the play store. $5 or $6 . there is an option called everoot. it will inject supersu directly into the rom. you can download any 4.12 stock rom from sammobile.com put it on your external sd card then flash with mobile odin .

all firmwares from sammobile can be flashed with odin. including the leaked 4.2 which has been available since june. Being rooted may prevent you from upgrading ota but not with odin

just noticed you are with sprint. it is my understanding that sprint devices are cdma . the GT-I9300 is an international gsm phone. it is different in its hardware than the us variants . if the model number of you phone is not GT-I9300 than you are in the wrong forum. Be very careful and do not flash any firmware that is not specific to your device. you can BRICK YOUR PHONE.

When I went to Sammobile, I typed in SPH-L710 in the firmware section and it pulled up the cdma file for 4.1.2. However, I was unable to download it. Each time, it failed after 1-12K and the file is 833 MB. Do you have a link for better download site?
This is the wrong forum you do not have I9300/I9305 .
You are presumably from USA then read the USA sticky at the top of every page .

My phone has been rooted for 6 months. If it weren't, then I would have been able to use the OTA update.
no I do not. another option is to upgrade through kies. you will lose root. but you probably can root again after updating, you might find a torrent copy of the file to download if you prefer odin. good luck. also please post in the sprint forum . It is assumed if you are posting in this forum that you have the GT-I9300 . any help or advice you get here may not be applicable to your device and may even cause you to damage it.

It wasn't relevant that you're already rooted. My point is, this is something you should have known before rooting, which is why the thread "read before rooting" has the answer to your question.
Although since you don't even have this phone, all bets are off.
