add apks to root - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

hey quick question and i am sorry i am sure this has been asked before but how can i go about adding aps to the update zip for a 16gb tablet so that after i root it the apps are in like with the market app.
thanks,
yonu

Should be able to open the zip (not extract, just open) and add the apk file to /system/app
It should work most of the time, but some apks might not work.

just keep in mind that if you put your apks into the system/app the apps you install will be installed into the system/app folder. therefore, all those apks you put in will be considered as system apps and may be difficult to update or reinstall.

Memo apk

I installed nero and love it but the stock memo app was removed and I use it alot. Can someone help me in gaining a copy of the stock Samsung Memo apk?
+1 I agree can someone please post a copy of the stock memo apk. I downloaded color note from the market but I like the stock one best. I wonder why TW didnt include it in nero 5.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
you don't rename it.
on computer you extract it, go into system and you see the apk
it won't let you install on phone by just clicking
put on sd card
go to astro, or root manager
move the memo.apk to system/app
done.
you need to extract the folder with winrar winzip whatever then there is a folder with the apk in it. copy it over to your phone under downloads or where ever you want to put it. then install.
edit: just did all that i said and when i tried to install the apk it says "application not installed"
just did what u said, even rebooted, and still don't see it

read the post above.
you have to move the .apk to system/apps
because memo isn't a regular app.
got the same thing. used astro, place the apk in system/apps. nothing happened. rebooted, still nothing. then even tried using the app manager in astro to install it and it says "there is a problem parsing the package"
Link no longer working... could somebody upload it again please ?
thanks

You can just use Roman's Bloater if you like.

I've tried this with MIUI (1.7.22) on a SGS Captivate with no success. I have flashed many roms and installed/sideloaded many apps over the past 10 months. I know I'm doing it right, as I have 'installed' other system apps by moving the apk to /system/apps and fixing permissions and ownership. Has this worked for anyone on a MIUI ROM?
Another related question would be - is there a way to export the notes from the stock memo.apk?

they are found in /data/app.
you need to have a rooted phone to mount this folder and get the files in there

2 other ways
in zip root data/app (zip needs access to data partition)
or system/ect/product/applications (my favorite)

So do I just copy my APK file to the /system/ect/product/applications folder and it will install on boot?
Hi everyone, I reopen this thread because I need this information. I can't find anything useful that explain where the apks can be put for an installation with the new rom. Why /applications is your favourite folder? there is a reason behind your choice?

[Q] looking for the apk files that was downloaded from playstore

Hi
I'm getting the new s 3 and I want to install all the same software I currently have on my s 2. Some of the software is no longer available in the play store so I'm trying to find out where the apk files that you download from the play store are downloaded to. So does anybody know the file path... Oh i'm running OS 4 ice cream
If you phone is rooted then you can go into root\data\app and find the apks. And again, if you're rooted then a better way is to just use Titanium Backup. If not rooted then redownload the apps.
Play store will display all the apps you have downloaded, if u r going to use the same Google id. This has helped a lot while changing roms.
Go backup is available in the market, it doesn't require root for backing up apks.
I can't see them in this directory

The folder is actually /data/app. Not root/data/app.
And if you don't have root, I don't think you'll be able to see anything in the folder. (or in the data folder at all, for that matter)
Under /data/app you'll find a few hundred folders, one for each app you have installed. They also may have been moved to the external sdcard if you chose to do so.
The best option, IMO, to have the APK files readily available is to install ES Explorer (free, available at the Play Store), and use to backup all the applications to the external sdcard. This way you can simply get all the ready-to-be-installed APK files from a single location, instead of having to iterate through each of the directories in /data/app (which is a PITA).
I use ES Explorer not only to backup all the APKs to a single location, but also to backup different versions of the same app, because ES Explorer suffixes the name of the APK with its version number.
A lot easier and quite more practical.
BTW, you don't need root to use that feature of ES Explorer.

There shouldn't be any folders in /data/app

Try this: Install "Wondershare MobileGo" to PC,after you have installed, connect your SGS2 with WiFi or USB cable to PC and export app. to PC. Then Connect SGS3 with WiFi or USB cable to PC and install the same app from PC to your phone...It is easy to do...

[Q] FC using keyboard when pushed to system

Hey there, I have an xperia S running rooted stock 4.1.2 jellybean, and I'd like to install a keyboard from the playstore as a system application. The keyboard works fine when installed from the playstore, but when I push it to system (and set the permissions properly) it just force closes and does not work at all.
I've pushed various other apps from the playstore into system and they have worked without fault. Is there something finicky with installing keyboards from the playstore as system applications?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I actually have no idea how to grab all the libraries from an apk. Any chance you could give me a rundown on how to do it?
So I realise now that "opening" the apk is as simple as changing the extension to zip and opening it like a normal archive. The apk does not contain and libraries, however. Is there any other way to get it to work?
