Can I use CrisKelo ROM v9 + Siyah Kernel?? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching all over the forums but couldn't find the answer or my be I missed it by chance....
Is there a way to use CrisKelo ROM v9 + Siyah Kernel? I tried flashing siyah with Omega v15 and Criskelo JB v8 and v9 but both the times my phone stucks at restart and I had to install the rom again with the provided kernel. :crying:
Can anybody tell me if siyah is not compatible with the jelly bean roms at the moment or is there a way to use the best kernel (siyah) :silly: with my roms.. A quick reply will be appreciated. Thanks

Not compatible with Samsung jb,, but is compatible with cm10

[Q] Dual booting two different Custom Roms GT-i9300?

I tried today Dualbooting Omega v27.1 as primary Rom and ParanoidAndroid JB as secondary rom and it worked perfectly.
Now i tried the same primary rom (Omega v27.1) and HyperGalaxy,Hyperlight, and some other small lite rom, none of them worked instead Blackscreen loop.
So my question is ; can i Dual Boot my Omega v27.1 with foxhound or Wanamlite or any other custom Rom,or this is just incompatibility of Updater Script from EveryRom??

gb? you mean ics roms! there is no gingerbrad rom for s3
and yes. newest release of shiya are only compatible with jelly bean rom's. it's better way to copy 1st rom to 2 rom directory by using the shiya 2nd boot utils an flash the other rom as first rom using normal recovery.
must flash shiya again after flash of any romwithout shiya included!

Installing any ROM will install a kernel that comes with that ROM. Many ROMs comes with Siyah kernel either as Aroma Installer option or even as default...

Hi,
Yes, siyah kernel will be replaced by the kernel of custom rom, but it is not a problem at all. You can simple flash the siyah kernel again after flash your custom rom.

No. Siyah is just a kernel. You can flash that without a doubt, as long as your Rom is supported by the kernel. But you should be fine I mean, I'm running it on MIUI ICS . Normally that should have bricked it ^^
CyanogenModded Very China-like, from my Samsung Galaxy S III

As mentioned, Siyah is a kernel, not a rom. You can flash any kernel and keep your rom, as long as it is supported. Siyah currently supports anything besides the new leaked 4.2.1 roms which have different drivers. Hence you will be fine. In case you face some trouble you also can simply flash back your stock kernel (you can find most kernels in Perka's Stash).

If siyah kernel is stock based then it should be compatible. Try to make a backup to be sure and then flash the kernel, else just reflash neatrom
ok thank you for the reply... :good:

Here is a better answer. YES! Use siyah kernel 6 beta5 for neatrom (stock based). However, I'd advise that you should try a different kernel such as the included Apollo kernel since siyah kernel has stopped development and you will have to use dorimanx kernel for a more updated kernel. So I'd use Apollo kernel.
