Thank you,

[Q] How to get back to the original X10a firmware and Kernel?

Hi!
I flashed my X10a using Feralab rom and DomKernel V6 and everything is ok. However, I have to take my X10 to the repairing center because of an old problem in touchscreen. So, I'd like to know how to flash back my X10 with original Sony Ericsson rom and Sony Ericsson Kernel. Where can I find this rom and kernel?
Thanks!
Go look in flashtool thread you will find out ftf files... Download one for your region.... And flash through flashtool
Sent from my X10
Download the original 2.3 release from SE (or rather only S;-) ) install it through PC companion. It will wipe everything though. If you do a backup of your current rom, you can root your phone when you get it back and restore the backup.

Just use the repair mode in SEUS or PC companion
Ok. Thanks but, will it recovery the original kernel as well? Because I have a backup of the firmware (rom), provided by xRecovery, and when I recovered it, the DomKerel still there..

dont worry kernel will also be stock one
Thanks again, but I tried to use the SEUS and PC Companion. However, both are saying that I've already have the most recent software and I cannot do nothing more. I'm desperate.. I have to leave home and take my X10 tho the repairing center in 1h but I cannot recovery this.. The rom is already recovered, but the kernel no..
What can I do?
Thank you a lot!
try restore mode in it.
If not then there are generic 2.3.3 or 2.1 files in thread flash them through flashtool
kernel are included in them
sorry the only working link I found was for x10i ....

Yeah. Flash this ROM via flashtool and after that You will be able to use SEUS, because it's android 2.1
Thanks for everybody! I downloaded a generic firmware and flashed this using Flashtool. Now, both kernel and rom are in the original SE.
Thank you a lot!
glad to hear

[Q] Stock Rom, how to backup to ftf?

Hi,
I'd like to experiment with kamarush's roms for the mini pro. They seem fast and stable, and better than the official ics update for now.
However,
I always need to go through wotanserver to be able to downgrade, as I have a Belgian Azerty version, and I can't find the correct firmware online.
So... How can I back up the full firmware that is now on my device?
(Stock Mini Pro, 2.3.4 build 62, not rooted)
You can't create a .ftf file from your phone (only through Sony Update Service and MAYBE through PC Companion, wait for someone to confirm this). So I think you could:
a) Try a Software Repair through PC Companion (if someone confirms it), that will download your original firmware. Then check the forum for a tutorial about how to create .ftf files.
b) Root, install CWM Recovery and create a full backup. If you want to come back to stock ROM, just flash whichever .ftf file, root, install CWM and restore your backup. That should do it.

Probably...But you will need a COMPLETE update not a minor update ...As in .431 to .587 is a minor update but .62 to .587 is a major update and you might be able to get the binary blobs to make FTF ...Best way is using SEUS however ...You can't go wrong with it ...
Also probably you are better off creating new thread rather than bumping 1 and a half year threads ...

Service center can trace flashing

If we flash stock ftf of some other country using flashtool is there any way through which the sony service center can trace it .
If with above we do only root and not unlock bootloader and when required to submit to service center for any cause we flash stock through PCC will it be untraceable.....i am not sure about all this....can somebody help guide me..... I am from India..... Thanx...

All the phones have an sticker with its original customization, depending on the phone it may be under the battery, for phones with replaceable battery, or under the button cover, customization number should be something similar to SI 1261-xxxx. Then in your phone you can type *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu and go to Service info -> Software info and check the customization number of the firmware you are running. If you use PCC or SUS it will flash the same customization software that you are running. However it is possible to edit the build.prop file to change the customization number to your original one and then recover via SUS to get the original software that was shipped with your phone.
So what I get from this is if I have to revert it to original Indian firmware that should be on my phone (as per Sony India just to make it untraceable by sony service , I have to edit build.prop first and revert to original cannot be done by merely connecting to PCC and then flashing the then available firmware by Sony..... Am I correct ??

hey I jst read a thread that I can make my own ftf from SEUS or PCC...was wondering if I flash that ftf(my own made ) using flashtool will that solve my abovementioned purpose(ie will make sony service think its original update via PCC )

You can create a ftf from SUS, I am not sure about PCC, it is always a good idea to make a backup of your original firmware before starting to make modifications to your phone software.

well i did lot of google on xda as well as other sites found thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063029 (this way i will lose my original shipped indian stock) but my objective was to root stock Indian GB 2.3.7 ROM (Build 6.0.B.3.184) to remove bloatware to get better performance . I want to install CWM and make a backup of original for which i have to get root but i cannot find any way to root GB directly without upgrading to ICS.
If you could guide me to one it will be highly appreciated.
If u only want to bakup than root is not required. Otherwise rooting gb is different than ics

Yes please tell me how I can backup gb without root...for I only know that I can backup via CWM which requires root(as per my little knowledge ) ....say if I go for repair of gb version .184 via SEUS is it possible to make gb ftf out of repair gb as new ics is available online

to backup the rom u got with ur fone perform these steps:
1. You need to reinstall the firmware using SUS (Sony Update Service )
2. After completing go to C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs\
3. Copy 2 files One of 15 mb and other around +- 200/300 MB into a New folder
4. Run FlashTool > Tools > Decrypt Files
5. Source folder : New folder that you created
6. From Files, Select both of the files and select OK
7. Wait till the decrypting finishes , after it does, a list will appear on the left
8. From Folder list, select all and move everything to the right
9. Fill all the details in the box
10. If the firmware that you are backing up is ICS then mark Disable Final Verification Check and select OK
11. Select your device > Ok
12. You will see the backed up firmware in > C: > flashtool > firmwares
Well at last after trying stock ICS 6.1.1.B.1.10 and 6.1.1.C.1.10 I have to go back to GB Stock(I did have root on this now) as camera was exceptionally poor in both stock ICS (even with different cybershot mod it didn't come up to the mark) and being a 5 MP phone I believe it should capture decent.... Now I'm contented.... Thanx to all for your help....
