when you installed, did you do a full wipe?
What do you mean "upload a file"?
You mean pushing the boot animation zip?

I made a mistake and went to the CWM and did Advanced -> Partition External SD Card Size -> 0M. Then I did Reboot Recovery. When it rebooted I got the weird boot screen (See attached. The image quality is horrible and I apologize). But it basically gives me a menu similar to a F8 menu you get in Windows, with several boot options: RSD, Fastboot, Android Recovery, etc. Has this ever happened to anyone else? The phone boots up normally but I just want to get rid of seeing the menu every time. Thanks.
Sounds like you somehow deleted or moved your boot image, unfortunately I do not know of a simple way to fix past rsd. Maybe someone else knows what to do.

Thanks. Yeah that is what I thought. Hopefully someone knows a way to do it...
Any ideas?
Do you have a backup in cwm, if so go into restore/advance and do just a boot.img restore.
Just a thought...

Didn't have a backup but I used fastboot to flash the boot.img and that didn't work so I am wondering if that is even the issue now.
Here is a better image.
EDIT: Note mines does not say No OS detected, it says OS will boot in 5 seconds (I took this image from the Atrix forum).
Do you still get a boot/splash screen? If not maybe this is the screen that is under that we don't see. You can try to flash a new one, see here

I flashed the stock sbf and its back to normal. It looks like a couple of the stock partitions were deleted. So if anyone else has this problem just do a flash to the stock rom.

i had boot animations ready to install same as fonts. so i tryed to install bootanimation on my xperia play and i did changed something in boot.prop language from en to pl but i left US unchanged. Now all what is working is fastboot and recovery... when it go past the freexperia screen it wont do anything else then black screen please help me...
Clam down. Wait for the black screen. The animation may not be working well, but system is booting up (I think).
If it doesn't boot, stack your Rom on top of current one without wiping. Then it will boot up successfully.

Pls take a look on file Flash.zip in attached. will it work if i will flash it just as the rom?
i take out most of files from cyanogen mod and just left bootanimation.zip
PS. Black screen wont pass and the file attached wont install by zip
PS. 2 Cant wait for answer. Flashed first rom then cyanogen mod all without wipe and besides no space on phone everything is good ;]
Just stay down Everytime facing problem.

Hi I am almost sure i bricked my phone, i can't make it pass the boot screen on any rom i try to put on the recovery. Yes, recovery is working, what i did to make it this state surprises me, I was trying to put Miuiu on my phone, i followed the instructions and downloaded the app called "Flash Image Gui" and well i did, the problem was that after i did, it asked me to install another app and that started giving me errors, i could not make calls just receive, and whenever someone texted me it would tell me than "The customer you are trying to text is temporarily out of service" ...after that i tryed changing to another rom and when i did it kept doing the same errors, not even data worked. well to get to the point i wanted to install miuiu and i did try. i openeed the app flash image gui and tryed to install the rom...after that it told me to boot, and thats the last thing i did before my endless boot screens for all 4 roms i have tried..i dont know what to do anymore. :/
if anybody could help me, i have been trying all day to make it at least show me the homescreen. but nothing passes the bootscreen. it just freezes there..

Trust me, if it could be easily done, it would be. Pretty sure that's part of the bootloader, don't advise messing with that.
Ok that would make sence. I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292524 so I changed it to a custom logo and that'll work since I can't remove it

I found that the SGS2 BootScreen Changer app in the play store works well.
thanks ill look it up once im done flashing more roms
I was wondering if anyone knew how to that could point me to a tutorial or could make one for me? Would be more simpler if they just used a ZIP file like other phones.. let me know if you want to try to convert a zip I have for the boot animation i'm wanting.
You could always change bootanimation.bin to get support for bootanimation.zip instead.
