I have installed various Miui builds only to be confronted by force closes, including Systemui.apk. This is right off the bat, from the first reboot. I have Blackrose 2.02
S-Off and 4Ext Touch Recovery RC5 on an HTC Incredible S. I made sure to do a factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik, and wipe all partitions except sd card before installation. I flashed a recommended boot.img, as well. Please help, I think Miui is a gorgeous rom and would love to use it.
I have tried:
MIUI.us_vivo_v4_2.8.31_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed.zip
vivo-MIUI-v02-signed.zip
miuiandroid_vivo-2.8.31.zip

I'm installing CM7 on my Thunderbolt runing MR2 radio. I'm following this forum post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049542. I'm wiping data from the recovery mode. Also wiped Dalvik cache. After installing rom recovery mode and rebooting, it get stuck on the HTC white screen. It's been like 10+ minutes. Any ideas on how to get this installed? Do I need a special kernel, if so which one? Thanks!
fix
Got it fixed, nevermind.
For the benefit of others, the issue was that ClockworkMod (CWM)needed to be reflashed and updated. CWM wasn't wiping my data which caused CM7 not to work correctly. Flashing and updating CWM fixed this.

Were you doing clean installs?
What you mean? I buy this phone before one year, it was rooted with Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_3.6.7 and now I want flash ICS ROM. I try ROM manager and than flash from boot menu where I choose zip file, but no effect..
He means, did you wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik prior to flashing? Or did you just flash over your old ROM?
Also (I doubt this is the issue, but it's common over in the One XL forums), are you sure you have a Sensation (not the Sensation XL)? I would assume that Sensation ROMs will not boot on the Sensation XL and visa versa.

I have classic Sensation and yes I clear cache and dalvik (do wipe before), but stil no working... meanwhile I have stock ICS ROM...
Are you s-off?

Format ALL partitions, flash the ROM, wipe dalvik cache then reboot.
Hello, I'm having a bit of an issue here I can't install a ROM after trying CM10.1.
I was using CM10, up until awhile, when I deiced to give CM 10.1 a try (Alpha build I'm aware of the risks).
I have installed CM10.1 using Rom Manager Premium. The installation progress went smooth without any errors, before installing I've made a backup of my current ROM.
Once CM10.1 finished optimizing application it started giving errors, that it can't load up Setup Wizard stopped from working, I have rebooted into CMW, wiped Dalvik cache and user data, I have booted up again, and was still was getting the same error, so I decided to restore my previous ROM.
But when I have booted up into CWM, I have discovered that the backup I made isn't there, not on the Internal memory and not on the SD card.
The issue I'm having is that I can't instal CM10 back, when ever I try to install CM10 ROM ZIP using CMW from external SD I get an error (Status 7)
Is there any ODIN CM10 installation route?
Thank you!
Update 1:
I have manged to flash The Official Rom, But it can't boot up, it seems like it's stock on the animation screen, the animation moves, but doesn't boot up. What might be the issue?
Update 2:
Solved the problem by wiping use data, and resting it to factory settings.
Update 3:
Got it fixed, everything is running like it used to be. Shame that I lost all my personal DATA, specially the DICM folder :/
Prior to trying to flash a custom rom onto my droid razr, I was on the verizon rom 4.1.2. I had root access and I installed BMM and got recovery working. I really liked CarbonRom from what I read and wanted to flash it and so I got the rom, the gapps 20130301 and I flashed the rom, then the gapps, and I rebooted. It gets stuck on the booting screen (the splash screen). I also tried flashing the jbx hybrid kernel (version 6 i believe) and out of curiousity tried flashing CM10.1 with the same gapps just to see.
None of it works, am I doing something wrong?? If so, what am i doing wrong??
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
FIXED
I got it working. If anyone is interested or has my same problem with BMM,
for some reason when you choose factory reset with BMM it doesn't clear /system. You need to go to Mounts & Format and manually format /system before the phone is actually cleared. Just clearing cache and data doens't do it.

Worked for me as well!
Today I decided to root my phone, and after successfully doing that, decided I wanted to try out installing a custom ROM. Obviously by the title that didn't work out too well.
I'm using ClockworkMod as recovery, and I attempted to flash CyanogenMod using ROMManager. I created backups before I tried flashing, but that didn't help. Once I hit Install ROM from SD Card I made sure to back up again, but I did not check clear the cache which I probably should have done. My phone then rebooted into ClockworkMod and I then went to install zip from sdcard and chose the .zip that contained the latest CyanogenMod, it ran through the process alright then rebooted.
At that point I got stuck in a boot loop, I think it might've been either that I didn't clear the cache before or if it was that I had the .zip on an external SD card or not. I then looked up ways to fix the loop such as clearing the Dalvik cache, wiping the cache partition, then eventually I tried to wipe the data/factory reset on the recovery option but that all did nothing. During all this I also tried my backup hoping that would end my problem, but I got an error with the MD5 mismatching so I can't use that backup, I do have other backups on my computer, but I can't get them onto the SD card, and ADB isn't detecting my phone so I can't try a way to fix the backup that way either.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I can provide more information if needed. Any help would be great.
If you're S-on you have to flash the kernel separately from the ROM. Hit the top link in my sig for more info. Also, TWRP recovery is recommended on the EVO LTE, not CWM, which is no longer supported, at least on this device.

Ok, thank you so much for your response this actually got me back on track after switching to TWRP and flashing the kernel first with CWM being the big issue for me. Now I'm just waiting for CyanogenMod to load, which I assume just takes a few minutes at the loading screen.
Got it fully working, thanks again
Not a problem.
