As i was Using CF Root. Ehenever i tried to install Siyah. My phone got Soft Bricked so i had to Install CF Root again to Get ot Working.
So it was Clear if i root Without this type of kernel i would be able to Successfully install Siyah.
After alot of Research this Thread Gave me Hope.

But i Really didn't Understand Enough.
So i think i must ask Some of you Experienced Guys.

Hi!
The very first thing you would have to do would be to root your phone..
Here is a link on how to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1505172
There are also videos in youtube that will show you how to root it.
Hope this helps.. cheer

I don't seem to get you there.. you are now rooted as what you have said. Would you like to install a custom kernel: Siyah Kernel?
Hope this helps

If you are already rooted using CF-ROOT kernel, then trying to use a non-kernel method again, is both hilarious and time wasting.
If flashing Siyah kernel is your priority, in order to overclock, then let's go straight to the point

I assume from the information given above:
1. You are presently on ICS 4.0.3 xxlpj firmware.
2. You rooted your phone via non-kernel method and your phone was rooted.
3. You did not ROOT your phone by flashing CF-ROOT kernel, contrary to what you claimed in your first and second posts
3. Anytime you flash Siyah kernel image via mobile Odin, your phone is stucked on boot.
Please correct me if I'm wrong or missed anything

You just did a clean installation and you are rooted via non-kernel method. Good.
Do you have a temporary CWM recovery?
If you don't know if you have, then Please post the link to the tutorial you used

if ur trying the latest siyah kernel v4.x then it will not wrk properly with older ver of ICS 4.0.3 like XXLPJ for sure, hence for that u have to install some older version of siyah like v3.4 or v3.3 and see

You can flash any GT I9100 firmware it will work fine and anytime you wish to claim warrant, you simply flash back Indian firmware.
Download it here:
1. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
Or
2. www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-android-4-0-3-ics-xwlpg-firmware-95534/

Help just updated to 4.0.4 and lost root

I have just updated to 4.0.4 on my galaxy s2 and have lost root. Ive looked about the forums and am really unsure of how to root it again, being concerned over the brick bug etc.
Is there a safe to re-root? CWM has been removed from apps so presume that has gone.
Anyone help please?
Cheers in advance

When flashing a different rom, always do a full wipe(factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache) or else you'll end up in a bootloop.

No, you cant get the brick bug in Siyah. Its present only in Samsung kernels and ones based on it, like Cf-root.
Siyah is completely safe, dont worry.

It is worth to invest few bucks in Chainfire's Mobil Odin Pro from Playstore to flash any Rom (stock or custom) with EverRoot option. It is good solution for people with moderate knowledge about flashing, rooting, etc. It's also safer method for those people because there is no chance to screw up bootloader or choose inproper flash images to selected partitions.
But flashing original stock ICS and rooting it is not so hard. It's free but you need to know some basics.

Gyz if u wanna update ur firmware from gingerbread or ics 4.0.3 to ICS 4.0.4, at first u need 2 wipe ur phone factory data, catch partition & delvic catch. Don't wipe factory data/catch partition from stock recovery in ics 4.0.4. cuz its have brickbug. check if ur phone have brickbug or not by this apps "eMMC brickbug check" from Google play store. After wipe then update ur phone firmware by select PDA in odin. download latest(30/7/12) unbranded European ics 4.0.4 XWLPU stock firmware in this link:
http://db.tt/3nw1oSmr
plz backup ur all necessary document/phone numbers/mms/sms etc. after flash when phone restart & automatic install some apps. After that flash again brickbug free LPU safe kernel by select pda in odin. download brickbug free LPU kernel in this link:

or

Wanna root ur by this link

Rooting the Galaxy 2 on ICS 4.0.4, Stock XXLQ6

Heya
I'm rooting my phone for the first time. Had a quick look around the web and couldn't find the exact instructions for rooting the stock XXLQ6. However I have read that using the instructions set for xxlq5 is safe and won't cause any major issues.
Should I root the XXLQ6 using XXLQ5 instructions?
If not, please recommend any(safest) instructions on how I should root the XXLQ6.
Flash siyah kernel from www.gokhanmoral.com. Download the odin flashable one and flash it.
I suggest you be extremely careful if you follow another guide, since the stock kernel you have is dangerous and can hardbrick your phone.

That kernel is rooted. When you flash it, you wont have to do anything else to root it. Simply flash it from the pda section in odin.

Hi. I'm new to rooting and i would just like to make sure that I can use siyah kernel to safely backup/restore and wipe data/factory reset. I have the emmc brick bug (i checked using the app in the play store). It read that if i use stock kernel that i can hardbrick my deivce if i wipe data or restore a backup but is it the same situation with siyah kernel. Is is 100% safe to use this kernel. Sorry if this is a stupid question but i couldn't really find the answer anywhere else. I just want to make sure doing this will be safe.

Don't wipe anything, or make any backup after rooting your phone. Let me know when your phone is rooted, then I'll guide about flashing a custom kernel immediately. This way you are safe.
Or
If you are so, so scared, then i will advise you to flash a custom kernel via Odin at once. This is faster and safer in your case.
So which one do you prefer?

network lock control key
Hi gents,
I have SGS2 running ICS 4.0.4, baseband V. I9100XXLQ6. Till yesterday my phone was working well, but today I received the error that says "enter network lock control key", I checked little bit in internet how to resolve this error but I can't find any safe solution. I thing that only way is to root my phone but also I read that my baseband have some bug's. So can someone please help me how to root my phone or any other solution hot to avoid network lock control key.
Thanks in advance
Sefko
Rooting
Hey there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II, the info about the phone is in the attachment (Screenshot). I have been considering to root my phone lately due to the problems with my GPS. I have understood, that by rooting my phone, I can have access to such apps as FasterFix and GPS Aids which should solve the problem of changing my NTP server. I guess, that since the phone was bought abroad, it hasn't got the correct server in my country. So tell me, what is the best and the safest way to root my phone and is it even a good idea? Maybe you have other solutions? Anyways, I hope for your help, dear XDA-Developers
Cheers,
Olev.
EDIT:
Just checked the Got Brick bug? app. Found out that the kernel indeed is Known to have the bug. Really hoping for your help in solving this problem before I do something wrong with the phone.
Thank you in advance,
Olev.

If you need to claim warranty, you will just flash back your original firmware. It takes less than 10 minutes.
Now, you need to remove yellow triangle and reset binary counter after you are rooted.

Rooting can not damage your phone.
You are the only one that can damage your phone if you don't know what you are doing and can't read or ask questions.

Because, 4.0.4 has brick bug on its stock kernel, you only have two options.
1. Flash a prerooted ICS 4.0.4 firmware via CWM recovery, then flash a custom kernel via temporary CWM recovery.
2. Flash ICS 4.0.4 firmware via Odin. You will lose ROOT and CWM recovery, then flash a custom kernel via Odin to have ROOT and CWM recovery back.
Which option are you going for?
