Did you check to see if you're router's DHCP is giving you an IP?
no this has nothing to do with the router. this is a cm7 problem.

yes and its green
do a logcat dump of before you enable it (and 5-10 seconds after) and then during trying to connect to a website in the browser.
if you aren't aware of how to do a logcat capture, this will do it for you in a user friendly way http://www.appbrain.com/app/catlog-logcat-reader/com.nolanlawson.logcat
then post what you get on pastebin.com and link.
I think it's just a current bug in CM7. remember its pre alpha. I have the same problem.

possible fix
apply the wifi fix again (or if you have not already) and try again. I had to do this myself.
I am trying to get my post count up to 10 so I can post on the CM7 thread as I have noticed several bugs. The lockscreen is slow to close or open for that matter. Calls do not always show up. Certain emails don't show anything but the little rotating circle and then the obvious like wifi and GPS have to be fixed to work without reflashing or installing separate zip files.
Does anyone know if we are supposed to post bugs on the CM site?

[Q] Hotspot not working CM7.1

Hi!
I've read through different posts, but I haven't got the answer to my question, which is:
I connect through CM7.1s WiFi tethering and I get internet access on my computer, but just a couple of minutes later it stops working (i.e the computer no longer connects, doesn't find hotspot), though the phone still tells me tethering is active. Disabling doesn't work, phone darkens the option all together, though still says it's active. Only reboot makes it idle again.
Known issue? Have I done something wrong? No problems at all with USB-teethering.
Thanks!
PS.
Running CM7.1 Stable
Same here
Has someone got an answer? Has it been fixed in CM 7.2 or later?
It's irritating.. sometimes it works for 2mins other times for 30mins. When it stops you have to restart the phone because it cannot disable. The Checkbox is just disabled and when I disconnect while it's working, it is disabled almost immediately. I've even left it over night to "disable" just to see what happens. Nothing... It's a pity. Such a great mod with such a great drawback... I hope it gets fixed!
Any help, advice, tips, etc appreciated! :good:

I have WiFi issues too for example, my phones connected to WiFi then stop using my phone, when I wake it up after a while it won't connect and it won't even see my router any more, only a reboot will fix it.

Xron vB2 Wifi problem

Not sure why only SOME people have wifi issue.
I was using Xron vB1.3 for a while without any wifi issue. Since I update to vB2. Wifi drop off like crazy. Switch back to vB1.3 .. no help.
Today I did a ACMEUninstall and ACMEInstall CM73.5 from flesh. Wifi drop off still the main problem. Tried other wifi network in McDonald. Still the same. Flash it back to Xron vB1.3 ... wifi problem remain the same.
What I will do is ACMEUninstall it again and start with CM7 3.
Is that wifi is control by the config file /etc/wifi
Any recommendation is welcome .... ?
i only just put xron on my touchpad. but i put vb2 on and it wouldnt even connect to wifi at all. just got stuck on obtaining ip address. i uninstalled and reinstalled it with the same result. it wouldnt connect until i put b1 on it
I've tried all the tomorrow from 3.0 to vb2... They are giving me Wi-Fi connection problem..
Log on my router, channel is set to Auto and is using 11. I switch it to 7 and connection work fine. I test it for about an hour and got stable connection. Further testing with channel 1 in great success.
So it may still have trouble when trying to connect public hotspot.

I don't now have the wifi problem.
I did have a looping problem a couple of versions ago, but fixed it by rebooting the router; another fix I've read about is setting the channel # to 4.
But erasing everything and starting fresh is a good idea also.......

The same thing happened to me. I always thought it was the router until it happened to me. My wifi worked perfectly until B2, after that it would boot with wifi but would shut itself off after a little while. The wifi bars would stay blue but it would not connect without going into the wifi settings.
same here...very annoying not sure what to do...tried changing the wifi channel and reseting router, nogo.
I am in the same boat, just loaded android on it for the first time and used vb2. Tried all the fixes I could find, I am not even sure how I go about changing versions (roms) now so I guess I have some reading to do..
I am not running vB2 yet but I have been seeing that it might be a problem with your date and time. Make sure your date and time are correct.
Ron
I just went from 1.3 to b2 as well. I was also having no issues, then started having nothing but issues after the update.
I was able to fix mine after re-reading the OP for xron.
I booted back into CWM, cleared cache, wipe data / factory reset. After it booted when I was presented with the clock info I did not select auto (as I did the first time) changed the time zone, then changed the time by one minute. After that point I turned on wifi and connected to my router. Haven't had any wifi issues since.
Also, I did a titanium backup restored of missing apps only, no data. But, I am still having lots of fc issues, like with the xda app, when ever I try to sign in.

Wifi Channel
Humm ..
More sucessful when using lower channel no. 1-6.
This is the experiment I did....
- Got solid connection on channel 6.
- Manually switch my router to channel 11. Connection still fine and WiFi Manger report changed to 11. Browsing without any problem for a while.
- Reboot the TP. No connection, router not in range. Wait for about 5 mins. (Not doing anything on the TP) It connect ...
- Reboot .. connect is fine ..
Oh .. I'm using Xron vB2.2 at the moment...

Wifi Issue

I know this may have been answered before.
I picked up HTC One x+ yesterday . Its picks up my home WiFi network during initial setup but when enter my password to connect to the WiFi .
it says out of range. And when go through the whole setup process and go into WiFi settings . It doesn't show the Home wifi at all.
I thought it was a hardware issue so i did press the phone where they show to press in a lot of YouTube videos. But it doesn't make a difference.
I have done the Factory reset from the settings and also through recovery wiping cache and then factory reset.
But No Success . It picks up the WiFi initially but doesn't connect to it after the setup.
I have also tried installing custom ROM . ARHD but same problem.
Stock rom version is: 1.17.401.3
Any help or suggestions plz.
Sounds like a buggy device to me. I'd take it back.

Just to echo what carnage said. WIFI works great on my device. Maybe it's a fault on your device, but you can always try the usuall suspects. Do a factory reset, see if that solves it. You could also try turning your router off for a few minutes, 99% of my WIFI issues are solved by that... Lol

this problem is due to the change of wifi country code (i read in a post) when you will take out the sim and then do the factory reset, and then turn on the phone without sim, you will see the wifi is working absolutely fine. I also have the HOX+ but not able to find any solution till now, ppl have written different solutions, like you will find "Wifix" and other as well. my phone is have problem cz it is from europe. i do not know why this is a problem with your phone. if you find anysolution do let me know.

[Q] Wifi problem after MM update

I come from Italy and I updated my device on March, as everyone, I think. My device is now perfect except the wifi. The wifi disconnect during the stanby and it connects only using the static mode. I also have this problem even if I changed the wifi option for the stanby in "always". Another strange thing is that the wifi is reported as one of the main cause of consumption, as it is shown in the screeshot
I'm having WiFi issues as well since MM. It's set to Active on Sleep, but whenever I wake my tablet, it's disconnected and having much difficulties to re-connect.
I assumed it was some Xposed thing I'm running, haven't tested it 'clean'. Also, I'm on AndroPlusKernel v22. Not v22a yet.

Hi,
For the static mode try to change the DHCP client in the setting->developpers option.
Where are the developper options?

Same problem here
Version .163
Stock kernel
Wifi standby settings to "always"
5Ghz wifi
Sometimes (not always) wifi disconnected after standby
DHCP working here
Maybe it is linked to wifi router problems during standby. I had wifi problems already before MM (! sign at wifi symbol). Maybe the difference now is that it isn't reconnecting in standby anymore after wifi failure. But just a guess...
At least it's not how option "always" should work...

Hi,
Maybe it's related to your router lease time that send a new DHCP address after lease time. Check if the lease time is set to "permanent"

Thanks for reply. It's set to three weeks, so not the reason.
(But even then it must renew the lease and not stop the wifi.)
I'll get new router soon, let's see if something changes...

I have the same issue but I actually have the turn off wifi in sleep enabled but it still shows up that its being used in sleep when I look at battery
The problem:?*
I connect it to the Wi-Fi and it works fine for about 5 minutes. As I'm watching YouTube videos every 5 minutes the video pauses and starts to buffer until it eventually say connection lost. Meanwhile the tablet still claims that Wi-Fi is still connected and with full connection. This also happens with web pages and apps that require and internet connection.
Temporary fix:
Turning Wi-Fi off and back on again fixes it, but only for a few minutes.
What have I tried to fix it?
I've tried everything from a factory reset to a software repair.
OS: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)?*
Build Number: 32.1.A.1.185
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Same I was having it on lollipop too. They told me to send it in for repair but I just ignored them cuz there's no point. It's a software issue not a hardware issue. They're not going to find anything wrong with my tablet. It's in perfect condition.
