I get what you're asking but why not just dual boot ICS and Jelly bean? If you're concerned about stability you won't have any issues with ICS if you're running a decent Rom. Just my opinion.

ICS feels so buggy compared to GB. Things just always worked better on GB. But I digress.

I disagree if you find a good ICS rom ICS is much better then GB There is just no comparison between the 2 with the right rom it can run just as smooth as GB but with some added features that really come in handy

The extra features are the only reason I am on ICS. I am running SHOstock2, which IMO is probably the best ICS rom, but it is still a bit buggier than GB. As with the OP, once there is a stable JB rom, I would love to dual boot GB and Jellybean.

if you look at my signiture i am running shostock2 as well as Phonebricker dualboot I tend to lean more towards phonebreaker than shostock a little more responsive

If the ICS is buggie to you now, then you would expect a very very very long time to get a "stable, buggie-free" JB ROM.

I'll happily wait. What's the point of having a DD that isn't stable on a daily basis. Anyways, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Surprised this thread is still going, isn't the below still accurate (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24724563&postcount=3296):
"20) Can i have one GB rom and second ICS rom?
A. No
21) Why?
A. Kernel partition is shared between roms. Dual boot functionality is implemented in ICS kernel. ICS kernel can run only ICS roms."
If GB and ICS didn't work, I don't see why JB and GB would suddenly work.

Did anyone else know of this?
i am new to the i9100 (coming from G2x ICS build), i have noticed that the interface does not follow my fingers as closely as in the LG (or other phones).
Is this a known issue?
Thanks a million

Thanks. Since this is my first ICS rom, I have to check on that rom you mentioned. I am a noob. Bought this i9100 with this ROM already on it.
struggling with all the search results
Although I can't attest to it, I did see a few people complaining about touch lag in both XXLPB and XXLPH. They're both leaks after all, and not official yet. You'll want to wait for a while till kernel sources or an official ICS ROM comes out.
CheckROM will be flawless due to it being based on a Gingerbread ROM, and any other GB ROMs for that matter (I used CheckROM and its pretty responsive). If you want, you can switch to them temporarily until a better ICS alternative comes, or stay there and wait for a better one.

I agree, completely with him. But, oh well.
For HoneyComb, I've always preferred Galaxy Task 14. Its fast, stable, smooth, and it feels great. But if you're looking for a non-touchwized HC version I suggest Clean Rom. You'll need honeycomb for now if you want camera support, no ICS/JB ROMs support camera until Sammy' decides to cough up the source/drivers.
For ICS it really depends. CM9 nightly builds are great, but I've always gone back to AOKP nightlies/milestones after a CM9 flash. I feel AOKP has a quicker, snappier feel to it. Plus, AOKP is highly customizable. I suggest Milestone 6.
For JB theres just one port, but this really isn't for the faint of heart since wifi, sound, and the camera do not work at all. This is highly experimental and you really should go here if you're looking for a daily driver, but it is really smooth.
Overall, I suggest AOKP M6 its really smooth, and its ICS. The only down side is the camera issue.
With the ease of flashing these ROM's it would be beneficial to test each one and see what you think offers you the best stability, response, and works with whichever apps you use.
I have been playing with Scott's CleanROM 2.0 and Task650's Task14 slim. I am currently on Task's ROM and using Pershoots kernel. I honestly like both ROM's thus far.... going to test out Bindroid next.
Those roms task14 and clean are for wifi only he has p7500 use bindroid for honey comb or cyanogennod9 for ics.. I'd recommend cm9 look for it in cm9 Site as p4 with no variants but p4

Wait for stable Jelly Bean Rom
I have tested JB ROM. Still its to early to comment but its buttery smooth and lightning fast. After a stable rom comes. It would be way better then ICS or honeycomb.
Test and explore different Roms and decide for yourself. I settled on Task's Slim 14.

I don't see why that has to be the case, provided people can stay mature and polite to one another.

Well I am a bit confused on which Rom to install as there are a few that look great. I want to see what people have to say on the following roms like a poll:
cm9 nightly Rom
Team Sonic's FreeGS3 Rom
Blazer Rom
Diet ICS
which are you running ? what features you like about these roms? what issues you have with these roms?
thanks

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you have a Sprint Galaxy S3, seeing how all those roms are for Srpint. Anyways, I run Blazer Rom and love it. I have no issues with anything and I get great battery life, while it's still smooth and fast.

I've been running Diet ICS, which also has great battery life. I haven't had any issues with the ROM, and they seem to be very responsive to what the community would like to see in the ROM itself.
ROM is always going to be user-preference... I go back and forth from CM10 with inverted apps, and AOKP with inverted apps....
I have enjoyed cm9 with all customizations , but realize I would be better off stock with possibly jelly bean update. Battery life has been horrible with cm9 for me. Tango app is not working with cm9, however, all the others video calling apps work at various volume levels so, how do I go back unrooted and stock?
Is cm9 the only custom rom you've tried? I would give hotwires cm9 with oc kernel or hotwire/dagr8 cm10 with oc kernel, see if that helps. I don't think you'll see a jb official for a while.

Agreed.....g
I can't find the sticky on how to go back to stock btw I left iPhone for android and I was tired of having to wait months for untethered jb just to add toggles that come stock on my Note. IMHO I don't really see the benefit of rooting aka Jailbreaking android as it offers great customizations native especially over iOS lol

I'm on the CM10 milestone release but I can only overclock to 1.5ghz. Is there a kernel compatible with the cm10 than can go higher? ktoonsez seems only usable with AOKP.

What makes you think that ktoon's kernel only works with AOKP?
CM is AOSP. AOKP is AOSP. You need a AOSP kernel.
Onward with your newfound info.
Why would u want to Overclock besides for benchmarking? It really serves no purpose

yup
I want a faster smoother phone. Plus I want to slightly under volt for better battery life.
Whick version should I use and ideas where to find the correct kernel? All of the ones I've to be so far are tied to full ROMs. I'm pretty happy with the CM10.
Using the search function would answer your question.

No. I have a i747 AT&T. Again I tried searching but all I could pull up was full ROMs not the kernel separate.
