I bought a really cheap car charger for my SXS a while back, and I have used it a few times. But I wondered recently how safe this actually is, and if it is damaging the battery?
To any experts on battteries and stuff, do you think its worth buying a decent quality charger or does it not make any difference?
What ma output does it have? You need a 1amp (1000ma) one

its 0.5amp

thanks Ben, I actually bought one like that for my arc last year but it started to smell of burning plastic so I chucked it, might go and buy this, http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/compact-car-charger-an401/ probably worth it...
out of interest, the charger that came with the phone is only .85a? what is the safest max output that can be used ?
I have 2 of those from that link and my mum has one and all been good so far!

Hi
I am purchasing this dock, and i currently have the original samsung battery wich is 1650mah, and the extended 2000mah one from samsung.
And i was wondering if the 2000mah one fits in the spare slot on this dock?

I just asked them, and they said they did not have a 2000mah battery to test with. But i sent them the measured thickness of it, hoping to get an answer.
The thickness is approx 5.9~6.0mm
how much longer battery life do you get with 2000mah?
is it as simple as (2000-1650)/1650=21%
Yes it does fit, I bought one recently. When it comes to docks and the 2000mah battery, the bottom of the phone is the same thickness as it is with the standard battery.

Thanks!

I finally found 2 sellers at eBay who guarantee their cradle charger to fully charge HF5X batteries.

Or it will always unlock as glove mode.
(second screenprotector over preinstalled one, I tried 3 different brands)
Anyone else noticed?
Honestly, I don't think screenprotectors are thick enough to be detected as gloves, Sony should have considered that.

I don't have that problem to be honest. I've a screenprotector on top of the shatterproof layer.

On ics?
Hm at first I thought it was dirt under the screenprotector or the brand but I tried different ones and cleaned the whole device.
That's super strange.
It works like a charm without it.
Can I ask what screenprotector you use??

Hello everyone. Been a Samsung Galaxy user since the S2 then Note and currently the Note II. Had my eyeballs set on Z Ultra for months. Just to be sure I would like to ask your opinion whether should I get out of my comfort zone and switch to this device?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
I'm an ex-Note user too, and it's not in the same league. What things are you curious about?
Sent from my C6806_GPe using Tapatalk
I came from the note... Much prefer this experience. Samsung annoyed me, touchwizz was god damn awful, they're updates sucked and battery lifetime was shocking. Cheap phones basically.
Love sony's efforts on the rom, nice and minimalistic. Beautiful hardware, most bugs have been ironed out by now, the worst for me was phantom clicks but haven't had any since 532.
Rooting and flashing processes are a little different to Samsung, takes a bit of getting used to. Very few actual bricks though compared to Samsung. Sony stock is good enough that you don't HAVE to root like you did with Samsung.
You will miss 3g video call from dialler, snote apps. There are plenty of alternatives though so no real loss. Also if you're a stylus user you'll need to get one separately, no biggie. Speaker on ZU is awful, so is the camera.
Media experience is the bomb on this, bar none I've come across. It's got apt-X bluetooth which they don't really advertise. Battery life is 2 days with stamina activated and moderate use.
And the screen? I'm not gonna say anything, it is as remarkable as photos make it out to be. Ooooo.
Plus it's a lot cheaper now, good time to get one.
Take the leap, you won't go back so Samsung.

That was what I've been looking for. A comparison between those two. Seems all looked pretty good so far. Don't really bother much about the camera. Same goes to speakers because I use earphones most of the time.

I normally wear cargos for work, and most of my shorts are of a similar style so it's not a problem. When I have jeans or such I normally carry it

I have pretty relaxed but smart trousers for work, only one pair which are skinnies have a slight issue with phone in pocket. All others and all my normal levi's and gap regular fit jeans have no issue at all, like I mean none. It's totally like a normal phone until you see it again and are reminded of its monstrous presence.

Hi again... Got my XZU 2 days ago. Loving it. I'm using flipcase and have no problem carry it around in my trousers. I move alot bcause i work as a chef. Feels good though i constantly walk around and bend alot. Feels lighter than my previous Note 2 too despite the size.
Sent from my C6802 using Tapatalk
Congrats! Good decision.
And it's good to use a flipcase.
I got a flipcase too since day one, but I didn't use it because I love the slim design of the ZU.
During the last 2 month it smashed on the floor for 3 times.
The backside is totally damaged now.
And now I'm using the flipcase......

Yup... I love the slim design too... Only using the flipcase when I 'm out from home. With or without the flipcase the XZU is still a good phone to have around.

Has anyone any info on timelines for brodit releasing their car docks for the z2?
I see they have docks for the z and z1 so would assume models for the z2 will follow.
But when?
No one?

Someone on the swedish forum Swedroid had asked Brodit about it. They answered that they're still waiting for the device, and after they get it it will take a couple of weeks to lanch it.
I got the same repy 3 weeks ago. I hope they'll get it quickly !
I have their passive model for the Z1. Works perfectly on the Z2.
What about the active one?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Haven't tried the active model but the passive one + a magnetic charging cable is much more convenient for installing and removing the phone.
Any update on this

Looks like it's out: http://brodit.se/product.html?id=512635&pn=prod&brand=Sony&model=Xperia Z2
All we have to do now, is to wait for some store to sell them.
Yeah I can't find any UK suppliers yet

I have the active holder and it works perfectly, only gripe is that I have to remove the cover to insert it, but it charges very quickly, in comparison to the desktop charger which seems to take all night to reach 80% this will charge fully within a hours journey.
