ok, since you pushed it to system/app, there is no need to install the apk, just reboot your phone

Do you mean the set permissions check boxes? Then long press the pasted app and select permissions. Then select the desired permissions (generally user-rw, group-r, other-r, for system apps). Then just reboot the phone.

Hello do anyone know if it's possible to copy keyboard from one rom to other rom? To add a language.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
yes its possible. but need to know which apk is the keyboard, also the lib associated with it.
I'm trying to find out about moving the keyboard as well. How to move the lib and the apk to system\app? I don't have root explorer..
what keyboard do u want to extract from the rom?
Hmm i didn't extract the keyboard myself. I got the DioChinese IME from a forum.
I just installed coderomv2x, but it does not have the chinese keyboard, so I downloaded it but not sure how to move it without rootexplorer..
well then, if just wanna remove stock keyboard from rom, just use titanium backup. uninstall/freeze it will do.
also if that diochinese keyboard u got is flashable zip file, u can just flash it via recovery.
Sorry but I'm new to this, so I don't really understand what u meant by flashable zip file. I have the apk and and .so files (which are the library files rite? :S) Is there a way to move these files to the system/app folder? How else do I install the keyboard? Thnx!
copy the apk to /system/app and the libs to /system/lib then give proper permission. permission for both the apk and libs should be rw-r--r--. then just reboot ur phone. u need to rooted ur phone and using any filemanager with root capability like root explorer to do this.
Thanks, i found Super Manager from the market and used it to move the files. How do i enable permissions? By using the superuser app?
dont know about super manager because never use it, but if using root explorer is long click on the file>Permissions. and it should look like this
Hmm icic my files appear as rwxr-x, and i can't seem to find a way to change the permissions...but i went back to the apk file and tried to install. It installed and the keyboard now works, but i think the handwriting mode got prob.
when u enter any filesystem folder using root explorer, on the upper right corner theres a button that showed "mount r/w", click it until it shows "mount r/o". only then will u be able to change the content of filesystem folder.

Hey guys. I recently rooted my x10 running stock 2.3.3 . I hav since installed xrecovery also.
I tried to fix audio stutter problem by copying the audio fix zip file to the root folder. However it said that I cannot copy it. What to do.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
in case you missed these.
in most explorer settings theres a root selection (asking root permissions)
in case you cant find it dowload root explorer and remember to change the ''mount'' to r/w
and im pretty new to all this so this is not something you should use until confirmation is given but can't you usually install these zips trough recovery ?
hope it helped.
Yeah dude frm xrecovey only we hav to do it. However it says to place the audio fix zip folder inside the root folder in system and then flash via xrecovery. I cannot place it inside the root folder. I copying frm.root explorer and doing it also. Still it says I don't hav permission.
The only thing I actually flashed via xrecovery was the frames per sec zip. In that case I could place the file anywhere on the SD card and do it.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
could be wrong but i remember reading a line like that to 'placing it on your root folder'
basicly it ment putting it on the SD card
i believe you'll be able to install it by
*putting it on sd card
*go in to xrecovery
*install custom zip
*selecting the file and voila
im looking for otherf answers/problems and ill see if i find anything brb
---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 PM ----------
pretty much all say flash like a rom incase it aint working then there might be a permission problem ? i think thats in advanced options in xrecovery (the permissons)
I fixed permissions in xrecovery. .still if u find out something abt it lemme know.

this is what i found looking for a tutorial on the audio fix
1.The first step is to make sure that you have upgraded your device to official Gingerbread and have root privileges with xRecovery installed. You can follow the video guides here to get root and xRecovery on your device after upgrading to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
2.Now download the Xperia X10 Audio Stutter Fix zip package from here and save the archive on your desktop.
3.Now connect your phone to the computer, mount SD Card and copy the downloaded file to SD Card root.
4.Once done, reboot your device in xRecovery.
5.After you are in xRecovery, go to Install Custom Zip Package and in the resulting menu, select the zip file you earlier copied to SD Card root.
6.Now press OK to install the fix.
7.After the fix is flashed, reboot your device normally using Reboot in System option in recovery.
8.Now once your phone boots, play any song to check if stuttering has ceased.
so i dont know if you tried putting it on sd card or not if you did could you give me some info on what error your getting ?
Lol no error. I hav seen this very same.document. it says " mount SD card and copy to root folder "..... where is the root folder so that I can copy to that? ! Cuz when I mount it shows all the files on.SD card. It should show one directory above it.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
I think what u said maybe is right....just copy pasting on.SD card and flashing via xrecovery
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
i found that very confusing to seeing english isnt my native language but yes
it means just somewhere on the sd card whare you can find it will do
Hi,
Have you checked your phone installed with SuperUser too? It also involved for ''asking root permission'' for apps which need root access. Another thing, you can give ROM ToolBox a try? Many features provided along the apps including copy/explore/extract zipped files, RootBrowser, CPU kernel tweaks, editing Build.prop and many more
''Google is always your friend'' if you want to find its APK file
Extra: Copy ur files into SD card will be best way to be flashed via xrecovery
Sincerely,
whitefang
Pls Hit Thanks button if this helps or convinces you

Unfortunately, due to X10's hardware limited support, 4points touch is not possible. In official 2.3.3, Dualtouch is supported along with updates. You check your Build.prop text like this below:
ro.product.multi_touch_enabled=true
ro.product.max_num_touch=4 But ''4'' seem don't works, you might see effect of ''2''
Gamepadding in emulator will not be problem, allowing two points touch
For Touching sentivity like increasing scrolling speed, you may need find Custom Launchers. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
whitefang

Yeap. Backup can be many meanings like ur ROMS, Buildprop, Apps, Datas and etc. Most Probably will backup into your SD card. In specific folder for their backup. Only the app which started the backup can only view its backup content/format.
About the tweaks, i don't think it's necessary to post here But NO WORRY!!! You can find whole bunch list here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269

Those who like the lock, unlock and screen selection sound of s3 can use this..

using software like root explorer copy the files from the folder in which they are saved to system/media/audio/ui replacing the old files and change their permissions to rw-r-r reboot enjoy
Or use the flashable zip and flash it using CWM...

If your rooted, in root explorer you'll see the option in top right corner to change from read only.

Thanks Buddy!! but will it work on MIUI based ROM?
I have seen many users willing to change the icons of their android applications. For the willing users I have got small tutorial on how to change icons of any android applications.
Note:
This may not work in all application but as I've tried, it has worked for all of them.
Please use copy of your application in case of need of original apk files.
None of the files attached here like belongs to me.
I am not responsible for any unusable apk if messed up with.
Requirements:
1.Any android application(.apk) (you want to change icon of)
2.Icons file or any icons editing software (must be of resolution 36 X 36)
3.PC with windows
4.Sign APK
5.Your Android device or virtual machine to install
Steps:
1. Grab any android application (using applications like App Backup and restore or Titanium Backup) and send it to PC.
2. Right click that android application and navigate to open with option.
3. Select Winrar or Winzip.
4. Navigate it to "ApplicationName.apk\res\drawable-ldpi" folder.(There might be multiple icons in other folders too follow the same process to make it done.)
5. You can see file with name icon(.png).
6. Drag your own icon file of size 36 X 36 and drop it and replace if prompted (save) close your Winrar.
7. Now extract Auto-Sign.rar file to desired location and copy your apk (with changed icon ) to Auto-Sign\Auto-Sign folder (or read README.txt)
8. Run file sign (.bat)
9. Now you can install the apk manually by sending it to your SD Card.
For making you sure it really works I've changed icons of QQ player to VLC media player which is attached below.
BTW QQ player is the player almost like VLC it plays almost every video of any type.
Download are in order as listed below
1) Auto-sign Created By Dave Da illest 1
Optionals
2) QQ player with changed icon of vlc:
3) QQ Player by tencent original:
