I9100 ROM on I9100P - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I just bought a Samsung I9100P Galaxy S2 and I upgraded to 4.0.3 through Kies.
It's a italian device and I don't like the interface of the ROM.
So, I have a question..
From what I know, there is only one difference between I9100 and I9100P. The I9100P version have NFC and I9100 doesn't have.
Btw, what I wanted to ask you guys, is that if there will be any problem if I install a I9100 ROM on I9100P?
Greetings,
Nymmath

GT I9100 Roms and other stuffs work perfect on GT I9100P, but you might lose your NFC function.
There is a mod to reactivate your NFC function after flashing GT I9100 ROM. It works but should not 100% rely on it.

there is nothing like CWM recovery for GT I9100P. CWM recovery for GT I9100 will simply work for you. Just as ROMs, firmwares, kernels, and mods for GT I9100 will work for you.
Download CWM recovery 6.x here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840223
Follow the instructions in that thread.

Hey bro, take the chill pill. I don't have any reason to copy your post.
Since i reply to many posts at the same time, It's very possible that you submitted your own reply faster than i clicked on submit on this or any particular post.
I've posted much more than 400 times in 3 days already and it will be very hard for 3, talkless of all of them, to be a copy of your own post.

Ok, ok. First sentence sounds like talks in GTA...

I promise you from experience I have used both updates on both phones without issue, obviously the nfc doesn't work and often FC on th I9100 S2, and is not avaulable when flashing the I9100 to the I9100P. They were the only issues I had, it was an accident by the way, folder mix up, lack of sleep, life trying to invade my privacy, etc.

How to change i9100p to regular i9100

Hey guys,
I have an i9100p from Orange FR and it's an i9100p
I need to change it to regular i9100
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
I don't think that's possible! Cause there is a hardware difference between I9100 and I9100G and maybe it's same for I9100P.
But I read somewhere on internet that there is no difference for flashing I9100 firmware files to I9100P But do at your own risk!
Consider reading this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640442
the difference between the galaxy s2 i9100 and the i9100p are just the nfc chip. you can flash any rom made for galaxy s2 i9100 in your i9100p, what will happen is that you will lost the nfc function... (I have one galaxy s2 i9100p)

u will have to edit the rom a bit look up a few posts the "lib" thing but most custom roms will have a i9100p version also, its just a couple of resistors all connected to the nfc chip that is left un-soldiered or missing on the normal i9100. be a bit careful though.

Try in settings/developer options --> make sure you have nothing checked in that menu. If this doesn't help you, you should consider to reflash the rom via odin, or use a custom rom of your taste.
Cheers!
Edit: do you have stock luncher or a custom one? Are you sure that your issue is not related to the mods you made (i see a different battery icon)... just wandering

I took this screenshot after flashed Wanamlite 12.4 and it based on 4.0.4 XWLPU firmware. After that I was back to stock XWLPU firmware and saw the same issue.
Nothing special in Development setting.

Maybe a different kernel would solve it? That's the only solution I can come up with, since the other one was to flash a different stock ROM, but you've already tried that.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
I tried some another kernel such as lastest Siyah 4.1 or Speedmod 3.31 but cannot resolve this issue.
But with Wanam Lite 12.3, no have the same problem.
Ah, I use Galaxy S2 Korea version flashed International firmware or I9100 custom rom.

Well, you found out the problem then Do try to read before flashing different ROMs. The most popular custom roms are for the international version, and many people who have other variants face similar problems when they just flash away without reading.

Well, but i have a question. Why Wanam 12.3 (4.0.4 XWLPT base) no has this issue and Wanam 12.4 (also 4.0.4 but XWPLU base) has this.
I asked Wanam so i wait him answer or give me one solution.

Your phone, Galaxy SII Korea, should not be the cause of the problem.
My friend has M250 as well and I've helped him flash almost every custom ROM out there.
Contact the developer of Wanamlite first on the Rom's thread.

If you need to claim warranty, you will just flash back your original firmware. It takes less than 10 minutes.
Now, you need to remove yellow triangle and reset binary counter after you are rooted.

[Q] Need help, sim disappeared and system strangely behaving

Hello, my first post here. In february I modified my phone (swedish) and it has all been working ok up until yesterday. Well actually for the last couple of weeks the battery has started running hot and draining fast. But yesterday the sim disappeared and I can get no connection, it even gets stuck when I put it in flight mode.
So I figured I should update things in the best way, but how to go about it. I used guides to get it done last time but I have forgotten most of that and I would be very grateful for help to proceed. I need a stable system only, no clocking etc.
Greetings/ Roger

I flashed it and it is still connected to computer via usb. It keeps flashing the screen Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100 (white text on black background) every few seconds and nothing else happens. Should I be worried?

Jokesy, the phone is now working so thanks. One question, is it a good idea to update it to latest version via Kies now? And then root it?Because this is a standard samsung flash right? Again thanks!

if ur rooting ur phone and trying to install a custom rom then there is no point in updating to the latest stock version
if u want to continue with stock, then its good to update it to the latest version
To clarify, I see a 4.0.4 for nordic countries at the same place where the 4.0.3 was. So would it be safe to upgrade it to 4.0.4 using Odin?Or is 4.0.4 a whole different matter? Cheers

Ok, so I can update to 4.0.4 using Odin or Kies and then Root it then? I need that to unlock the carrier.
Would upgrading mean a full swipe?
Regards

no upgrading is not fullwipe, but in order to have stability u have to do a factory reset after upgrading
before doing factory reset u can backup ur phone with KIES
Dont upgrade to 4.0.4, until you aren't aware of emmc Superbrick Bug
Peace
Hit Thanks & It will Disappear

Ok lucky me I have not updated yet. So I stay with 4.0.3 or what? Brick bugs are a no go!
