So this may or may not be a dumb question but I came from the sidekick 4g to this phone and we had flashable modem files for that phone to increase signal in certain areas. My question is if there is anything like that for the amaze 4g because I'm having some issues with signal strength with this phone.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
Nope, although you can try different ruu's ppl claimed better signal in gb than in ics too

It's not a dumb question. It's just in the wrong section, and I believe there's a thread coveting this topic already. Please search before creating threads, AMD please make sure when creating a thread, you post it in the appropriate section. Thank You.

You can only get the radio through the OTA updates...
There is no radio leak, therefore no standalone radio files
I've had **** 3g with eco1 radio on com rom, so I did the ota process and got edo3 and it is just as bad. Not worth it.

Yeah I love the community rom but when I go back to stock ec10 mesmerize it seems data works better for me.

Putting Stupid question on Dev section is not enough and now brininging this stupid thread to top? That's just ignorant and rude.
Bury this away.
I Was interested in this thread. Calling people ignorant is rude and uncalled for. There are moderators for a reason.

Question belongs in Q&A section. Otherwise why would there be a Q&A section? Dev section is dedicated to devs and their work. If i'm on dev section, I would like to see what's being done not some ignorant question that could have easily solved by 1-2 minute research. He has over 250 posts and still doesn't get the concept of where to post.

Amen and amen.
My point is that u can convey that without insulting. I get it. I also think the mods are capable of dealing with it without your help. What do you know, The thread was moved! Did u do it holy? No.i doubt it. Let the mods deal with it. They are much capable and tactful than the vigilante forum police. I want to enjoy these forums. Insults take some of that away.

Dont know if this was mentioned yet. The old evo4g method worked with MSL reader.
All that needs to be done is having TEMP root and then download the MSL reader from the Android Market.
It's been mentioned several times.

I just looked at the rules out of curiosity. Could you link or quote the rule you are citing?
Most mods sticky some forum specific rules in each subforum but I do not see any here. I did see a rule against flaming though.
The EVO 4G community was so much better.

1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
It's obviouse you didn't search. This has been mentioned a hundred times already. There was absolutely no reason to clutter the devs thread with this. And yes there are several rules about posting non devs related (junk) threads in the devs section. If you aren't releasing a ROM, script, root method, or technical how to; then you have absolutely no business posting in the devs thread.
I miss the EVO 4G forums too. We didn't have near the junk threads there.
Link to what to post where.

Thread closed and moved as it has already been thanks for trying to help, but always better to search.
Found this while searching for a way to possibly force my Amaze to roam.
http://thewichitacomputerguy.com/blog/how-i-fixed-your-sim-card-does-not-allow-connection-network-g1
This is the part that caught my eye,
1. Open the phone dialer
2. Enter: *#*#4636#*#* (Once entered, you will be taken directly to a "Testing" page)
3. Tap Phone Information
Would this give you guys any more info or things to look for/into on finding a fix for data?
If this has already been mentioned, then I apologize, because I found nothing about it when I searched.
Hope this can possibly help in some way.
No
I use that menu to force 3g only and I have been using that menu since eclair

It's been tried in Ecipze's CM9 variant and Amaze CM9 port without helping to point the way to what is making data so unstable.
Ok, well, I thought I would ask.

Why is this in the development section? Please, do not create threads in the dev section. This, and all questions belong in Q&A only. Members, please refrain from answering, it only encourages the behavior.
Thank you.

I want to root my amaze 4 G strictly to get rid of bloatware and I want the Google now app. Reading forum after forum and post after post all I see that you lose data service is that going to happen if I just root my Amaze. I'm sure it's a stupid question and somewhere in here it's been answered already but I'm unable to find it.

1. There's a Q&A Section.
And B. You only loose data if you flash a ROM that has data not working.
Thank you, I've been reading that we can't get data because of HTC holding back codes so I'm trying not to screw this thing up
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
When you root you will lose ally the data you had stored on your phone. If you just want to stay stock rooted you'll be fine with data connection. A few roms are still works in progress (cyanogen mod 9 or MIUI) don't have data working perfectly yet, but that only matters is you flash new roms onto your phone.

I've posted comments about a few ROMs in this forum already today.
Just thought I'd ask who the Admin is...?
Seems we would want to move many of the items posted, to the non-Tmobile HTC One forum. Quantity isn't quality. If there are a bunch of posts, but they don't pertain to the Tmobile version then we might as well all be hanging out in the main HTC One forum. Ya know?
