Hey,
I have thinking about this since XDA announced that Xperia S's source was released to Google's AOSP:
It is good og just nevermind for our Xperia P?
I mean, will it make it easier to make custom roms for Xperia P? Xperia P and S is almost the same though.
Absolutely useless, completely different hardware.

..which is the most popular/best supported by Cyanogenmod devs?
The Moto X has way more custom ROMs than the Z1 Compact but the Z1 Compact became available this January and the Moto X, August 2013. Anyways I'm pretty sure more Z1 Compact ROMs will pop up soon since Sony is a very popular manufacturer. If you're deciding which phone to get, I would suggest you the Z1 Compact.

I think the Sony is a better phone anyway, so that's good news.
Are there any good ways to judge how well supported a phone is/isl likely to be supported on CM, apart from asking around on forums? It would be useful if there was some kind of index based on numbers of recent updates, forums posts etc.
Why Sony Xperia Z2 didn't get Android 4.4.4 as Z1 or Z1c? Will it rolling for Z2?

Most probably it will.
Sony is just trying to support older users because they were complaining about updates a few years back
That is a minor update, i much prefer sony focusing on bringing android L as soon as its released.
Any chance we might get an unoffcial android L ports for Xperia sola for daily usage. I would love to see material design in sola.
Will Xperia z ultra get upgraded to lollipop?

the question has been asked many times, the answer is we don't know for sure, but probably as the ZU is only a year old and Sony have given kitkat to many older xperia
Xperia z ultra got 4.4.4 before Xperia z
If the Google play edition gets its then for certain it will be easier to port it to the XZU and we wouldn't need to wait so long. I think Sony made a mention that they will only release the latest Lollipop based Stock rom 90days after it is officially released by Google to the consumers.
So the Xperia X has gotten its concept firmware...
I know when the Z3 concept came out, there was a port to samsung devices
How easy would it be for someone to port the latest Xperia X concept's to the Z5?
