[INFO] Apocalypse Final (09.07) + FireKernel (28.08) Temperature Galaxy Ace - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi, two days before i installed the rom "CM7-APOCALYPSE-FINAL [09.07.12]" with the last FireKernel (28.08.2012) Non OC Official CM (tried install the nonofficial, but bluetooh doesn't work).
And it seems that mobile phone are hot... the temperature is between 30ºC-35ºC/36ºC, this is normal? Unfortunately i didn't notice the temperature of stock rom and didn't find many info in the internet...
Thanks for support

Mine is at 30.8c atm, screen has been on for about 10minutes.
Use set CPU to lower the cpu usage, set it to smartassV2.

Normal Enough. I've reached till 50 under performance governer with overclocked to 806Mhz in under 10 min while playing Real Football.

It will most likely damage your battery in the long term, so i would recommend you to avoid these kind of occurrence in the future!:good:

Yep, could do. Its straining the hardware. Wont affect you very soon though
Sent from my GT-I5500 using Tapatalk
Meaning it will affect the phone in the future..? what should i do then..keep it at 600 always and 768 when i have to play or watch a video? and can you please tell me when changes will appear if i use 768 continuously?
And thanks for replying
I never even need it at 745. And I don't think the effects will kick in for a year or so. Its fine really, but just supposedly shortens your hardwares lifetime
Sent from my GT-I5500 using Tapatalk
the phone feels much faster at 768 and some games which used to run with a lot of lag are silky smooth now..thats why i was reluctant to keep it at 600....
hii , i dont know what is the function of overclocking our phone . how if i want to extend battery lifetime by overclock the cpu .
do i need to raise it or lower it ??

Everyone you NEED to think about your CPU Governors! It will affect performance, hardware strain and battery life! Choose the one that's right for you!
I'm using overclocking since I have flashed CM. My usual setting is 245-768. I have never had any problems.

Overclocking Problem

hey guys.
i have been wondering about this problem for a long time, and i could not find a solution to it. Thus, i wanted to ask you guys about it. The max i can overclock my phone to is 748. whenever i try to raise it to about 768 or 787, the phone will freeze and restart. is it due to the hardware limitations of my phone? or isit due to some software limitations?
Please help.
Just Hardware.
(I can overclock to 729 )
Hi. I'm still using Gingerbread stock rom 2.3.3 but with latest franco's kernel. My max. clock is 710Mhz. Anything above that, my phone will get freeze very often. Is there any recommendation on what should i set for my min. clock as well as the Governor?

I use stock 2.3.3 v20g + franco kernel and set max clock at 729Mhz, sometimes it freeze, but normally work fine (with any gov).
Each CPU is a little different. My OV is stable at 600 with smartassv2 but once I step it up to 729 the phone will randomly freeze or reboot.
Sometimes you get a good cpu that can be OCed a bit, and sometimes you get one that can go no further then stock. If you can OC then consider yourself lucky.
Whenever you try to increase the max frequency beyond a certain limit the CPU can not handle that and tells the kernel about that and kernel starts to Panic... (reboots or freeze)
For example My phone remains stable upto 768 MHz (usually i keep it at 748Mhz....)
but if i increase it to beyond 806 MHz it starts to panic...
Hardware
Has differences on hardware, already tried with 2 differents P500, one could overclock to 768 Mhz, the other can reach 800Mhz without freeze.

Since all the p500 have same hardware, they can be OC to same max frequency if they have same software config...
806! never freezes but she gets warm! can get over 40 celcius
EDIT
Mind you i only get about 16 hours of battery life LOL

where did u get ur facts?
are u smart or just effin noob?
yours preferred governors????
actually the best one is....
Dude keep it around 652 and interactive otherwise UR Battery will drain fast
depends on ur ROM+kernel combo.
on oxygen v1.1 i smoothly ran on 480-768 and battery lasted around 2 days with average use.
Now on Cm7 nightly, equally smooth at 729-480 and battery is awesome too..
Overclock
Ohhh!!! lucky guys.. my phone only accepts 672Mhz at max or anything above that value leads to rebooting or freezing.
Rom: Cyanogenmod 9 (Android 4.0.3)[BETA4]
Kernal: Franco Kernal - 4
OC: 480/672 Max
I get 748MHz completely stable when pushing "performance" governor with franco #4.
But irrespective, this is not about bragging...one would see LITTLE real life difference (save for frying the CPU faster) going above 672MHz. Don't just look at synthetic benchmarks...feel your phone.
Oh...and it was mentioned multiple times that 600->806MHz uses the same voltage hence the same power consumption for Sidestep CPUs.
I am running max CPU @ 729 and it has been running smooth for days with no freeze/reboots, I also noticed having the Governer on Performance has helped my battery life and such, i havent noticed the phone getting any warmer whatsoever so no problems with heat, Also I am using a LG-P504 Optimus One which Ive heard is the final release for this phone, so maybe its more stable than the pervious versions.
My p500 can handle 768 max. With some kernels 787mhz. But i am running 245-710 with miui v4: lol:
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Yea mine can handle that too but it drains my battery faster I've noticed. So now I run Max @ around 720 which seems quite stable!! Only time I use the nitrous feature also is with playing more top end games which I otherwise wouldn't be able to play without really low fps.
Sent from my LG-P504 using XDA App
Im using cyanogenmod nightly 7.2.0 build 34 on 748 mhz with any governer and it's working very well.OC also depends on ROM's.each ROM has different capabilities to OC...

[Q] Set CPU - How to overclock my SGA?

Hey guys,
I have just installed OmegaRom by Team Cooper and what a Rom it is!!! Amazing is an understatement.
Okay so with there new Rom v2, it has an OC kernal built in and it does work...BUT I need to know how to OC the thing safely and squeezing as much performance as possible!
I have it at 825 and min 806 mhz, scaler is performance.
What settings would you pro's recommened?
Thanks!
Edit 1- I am using SetCPU to OC.
"overclock" and "safe" cannot be use in the same sentence, it just wrong.
theres no safe overclocking. moreover each and every device is unique even for the same model.
what is working with others doesnt guarantee it'll works with yours.

What I meant was a stable OC that may work with my phone... I OC computers too so I know the risk's involved. So what I was asking was what OC's worked with peoples phones so I could get a rough idea on how to govern my cpu and OC it without totally messing it up.

So far I have been running 844mhz performance for a while, since I created this thread and the battery has remained at 82%!
I have benched using AnTuTu twice and have excellent read and write speeds, compared to other benchies I have seen, OmegaRom is the best Rom I have ever used!
Cheers,
i tried cpufrills and its the best for me
I don't Think U mustuse over clocking, even my setting was min245 max 902,the effect just draining more battery, and if using to much can damaging ur prosessor
I know you might think what I'm going to write is unnecessary and going to contradict with your believes here. but I'm going say it anyway.
If you are going to use your device for a long time then I would suggest not to overclock too much. You'll know when something will go wrong with your over-clocking. Your SGA would start rebooting randomly. Heating up would be excessively common once you start overclocking, using your SGA while it's charging. Over clocking will definitely reduce your processor life span. People who do can over clock their device to get the max out of their device and know they're going to change the device in sometime later anyway.

Don't worry! Like I said, I have experience O/C'ing processors etc and I know how bad the effects can be! I am not going for a massive overclock at all. Just a tiny bump in the speed. At the moment, I am running 825mhz and already the speed has improved dramatically. I may go a little further but 902mhz is a bit mental for my liking.

SGA-5830 - Miracle V3 - Pure Motive Mod -Ace Kernel beta 3.1

A combination that works for me - Miracle V3 ROM with the PureMotive battery mod and beta3.1 Ace Kernel. Thus far, almost 24 hours, no force closes, battery life much improved, stable at 844 oc, smartassV2 gov. Phone is not getting as heated as previously while playing any 3D game, it just feels faster and smoother...response time awaking from deep sleep is smooth, so many things seem to be functioning better.
Those who believe the improvement in battery life to be a placebo effect, I do not believe that to be the case. I could very rarely go past 6-7 hours without dropping to 10% power left. With this combination, I have gone more than 16 hours and still 40% power left to go.
I have tried so many roms and mods and they all worked really well, but most really did not improve battery life by more than a couple of hours. The battery mod really worked with the Miracle ROM (any CM7 I guess) and the beta-3 ace kernel also seems to be adding on to making the ace smooth, lag free even when underclocked to 424 max and 122 min, Smartass V2 and nook as default...in call profile 787 max 244 min.
Love and respect to all the Devs and all who mod and improve the creations...thank you so much and keep up the great work.

Continuing to note the extension in battery life. Go Power Master is further adding to battery life in super-saver mode. In the nine months that I have had the ace, the max battery life I ever got was 12 hours on one occasion, that too only because I was not able to use wi-fi because the wi-fi modem had issues and could not be used. Today's snapshots are decisive. With Go Power Master, one full charge has lasted 20 hours and there is still 30% of the battery to be used.
Which one did you use?
One with semi colon or without?

It really depends on the rom and kernel you are using. At the moment I am on Omega 4.2 (going to update to 5.0 now) and SiyahKernel 1.0 over clocked at 1.6GHz. I find the S3 very smooth, more compared to stock. The stock rom is pretty smooth but if you feel that there is a lag you could always install a custom rom and kernel. With the SiyahKernel you can overclock upto 1.8GHz.

What is even the point of overclocking this phone with the software available now? There is really no need. I've actually used SetCPU to downclock my CPU when battery gets below 40% to save battery, and even more at 20%.. and it still runs fine. You're just wasting battery and shortening the life of your phone.
Stock is smooth as poop, ask yourself if you're happy with smoothness and speed.. Why risk to get weird bugs like camera fc all of the sudden etc?

Agree you need to read what the custom rom is offering in real terms not hype and decide . bear in mind that every custom rom built claims to be faster smoother saves your battery and will fly you to your destination in first class .Few say hey this rom is slower than stock as i have messed with stuff and cut and pasted a few themes .
jje
PS saying that i am in the process of flashing a stock rom purely to test out my recovery procedures for getting back to a clean stock rom .
I have a question about installing a custom ROM, will it wipe your device after installing the custrom ROM? (I want to install the latest firmware AF2) TIA

Nope, underclocking won't harm it, having a massive overclock for most of the phone's life will probably shorten it's lifespan though.
