Hi I read on pocketbook.com that anyone who has a Galaxy S2 can get 11 free paid apps from Samsung Apps. I went to the link on the website and tried to download one and it said I wasn't in the right country? Is there a actually Samsung Apps app that I need to download?

Blame it on licensing and copyright protections.

It says it's valid for 2 months for US, UK, Indian and there was some more countries but it definitely says for US Galaxy S, and S2 andNote. Is there a actual a Samsung Apps app?

Never seen one with galaxy s2 but galaxy tab has it so I was scratching my head. I could get them from my tab then moved to my s2 but I am sure that is not strictly legal.

I downloaded and installed the Samsung Apps apk and was able to install several Gameloft games that were marked "Galaxy S II_Free".

Well there's the option to "buy full game" so I'd guys they're trials. For the gameloft ones anyways

It should be called "Galaxy S II_Trial". Such a blatant misrepresentation.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
They aren't trials as far as I can tell.
Gotta remember I posted that yesterday - they probably aren't free anymore.
Edit: Hero of Sparta shows "Buy Full Version", plays through the first level and prompts to buy.
Dungeon Hunters 2 HD is working.
Modern Combat 2 HD is too.
Those are the only 3 I got. I already owned Asphalt 6 HD and Backstab HD.
They are still labeled as Galaxy S II_Free. If they are now trials they need to rename it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
I don't know how many are trials and how many are full. I only downloaded Hero of Sparta HD, Dungeon Hunters 2 HD and Mondern Combat 2.

Where might we be able to find this samsung apps apk?
I found it linked from a site linked from Android Police.
Guys-
It looks like most of the trials are now say that they are trial versions in the description. Also, if you're having trouble downloading, get 'Market Enabler' from the market, and set it to make it look like you're in the UK. Worked great for me.

I found the apk on a thread on xda here. Just do a search and it should pop up. I think it was in the int'l forum.

They must not be offering the full version free anymore. Cause I just downloaded Dungeon Hunters 2 and when it loads, there is a purchase full version button. Pretty lame to advertise it as free when it's clearly a trial version. Nothing in the description mentions its a trial.

Yikes! Just got my brand New Galaxy Tab last Tuesday and now I've been informed that there is a Note 10.1 around the corner.
The "only" difference I've seen so far is that it will pack a 1.4 processor, stock ICS, and external sd card slot.
Since I got this one in Costco is returnable. However, I think the Note will start @ $500 (maybe more...)
I dunno... You guys think is worth the wait?
It's just that I have a SGS2 and is sooo much faster than this Tab. Will flashing a custom ROM to this tab make a difference in speed?
Thank you for taking my question.

I can only say I'm running my 10.1 @ 1.4 and haven't had any issues not caused by myself.

You missed the whole point huh, the pressure sensitive stylus?
Value is a subjective thing though, only you know what you need out of the device. Going with the note will surely mean a longer wait for development of custom ROMs. If the added features make up for that as well as the delay between launch and shipment then go for it.
Me personally i find the idea of the stylus intriguing but then the ram limitation (the 1gb of ram, not sure if this is an Android system restriction at this time but I'm guessing so) is cause for pause for me. We all look at lag critically and i always wonder how additional system ram would improve that. If increasing it on a standard PC improves performance to a degree then surely on a tablet it would as well. Of course that would add additional cost but I'm sure many would spring for premium models with more memory. I bring up this issue because of Samsung partnering with adobe on the inclusion of Photoshop touch with the note. Moving towards marketing tablets for graphic production using the stylus needs to come along with the ability to do it well without the lag and unresponsiveness shown in the demos. Surely there are driver optimizations that can help yes but anyone who uses Photoshop regularly to do production knows that ram is hugely important.
Baby steps though, the note is certainly a welcome addition to the tablet arena. If an LTE one comes out in the next year is certainly consider it.

Need to flash Pershoots latest kernel. His droid basement blog would probably be the easiest to find since I don't have a link to his thread here handy.
I'm using setcpu also and had the 1000 limit. Flashing his kernel gave me the1400 option with no other changes needed.

Return it and keep saving to get the galaxy note 10.1. I read a couple weeks back they were holding of release til june to switch out the dual core processor for a quad core processor. I think it would be worth returning any tablet to get the galaxy note 10.1 if this rumor is true.
http://www.nordichardware.com/news/...th-mali-604t-gpu-crushes-the-competitors.html
If this rumor is true I will crap my pants
id wait if i was in your position.. really. return that **** and use your desktop or laptop till it comes out, i wish i would have.
It has been upgraded to quad core 1.2 ghz so return your tab and get the note 10.1

Google may also be releasing a Nexus tablet next month - in the lower price-point range as well. Hold off for now.
Hey, Does anyone know how to get Netflix in HD on our Galaxy S3?
Supposedly only certain processors are supported at this time. Mostly ones motor uses. You can go into the settings in your account to make sure it's set on highest quality but given that HD is not supported or so I've heard it won't be HD

Never good to hear. Hope that they update it and start supporting more processors, I mean we have a pretty good one.

Possibly buying one for her for christmas. Main reason would be for voip calls, either with skype, magicjack or viber etc. She only has a blackberry so this would be closest thing to a smart phone / device she'll have.
She normally favours small devices. What size screen would be appropriate in terms of practicality? I would want her to be able to play fruit ninja and angry birds smoothly as well.

whatsapp should work out of the box. I actually have never tried Skype or video calling on the player. It should work though because it has a front facing camera and I believe it is better on the 3.6

I don't have a 3.6. Skype calls and video calls work well on the SGP 5.0. I wouldn't suggest running other apps in the background as Skype does use a lot of proc power to run.
I would suggest getting the 4.2 since the screen resolution is a lot better than the 3.6 (the 4 and 4.2 are mostly the same and the 4.2 is newer but its your call.)
I suppose Skype would work on the 3.6 as anyone else. So if you're looking for the cheapest and she mainly needs it for calls, the 3.6 is the way to go (if you want a brand new device).
On Amazon the 3.6 is $150 and the 4 is $180. But they have refurbushed ones (4.0) for $130. They also have used 4.2 for $150.
Ive decided n the 3.6 player. Do you think id need to get a case or screen protector for it? Does the build quality require one over time?

Hey guys, Ive got my Nexus 10 since the first realease batch and I love it soooo much!
Only thing which realy dissapoints me is that there are a lot of aps out there (especially games)
which are not compatible with it.
Top titles like the just released Real Racing 3
I DONT GET IT.... its MADE for a device like the nexus 10....
why they are doing this to me (((
anyone knows a way to download the .apk even its not compatible?
Tegra/THD stuff won't be downloadable from Market (even though Tegra effects shouldn't be an issue on something more powerful than a Tegra 3... but w/e).
As for other games, the developer might just choose to restrict it to the most "popular" devices, and to not risk having negative reviews, mark it as incompatible with everything else. Pretty sure a Nexus 10 isn't as popular as, say, a Nexus 7, GS3, GNote, etc.
Only way to get the apk "legitimately" is to install it to a compatible device, then pull the apk off the device and then sideload it to the N10.
Real Racing 3 isn't released until the 28th?

It's the 28th in Australia. I downloaded RR3 from the play store just then on my Nexus10 and I'm currently download the extra files. Maybe it's a regional restriction?

Tried RR3. It downloaded 4.1 Gb cache but the graphics...black/white/pink textures, no reflections and shadows. Ugly, but runs fine. Better than NFS:MW on 4.2.1 and worse than on 4.2.2 with custom kernel
Im at work currently but assigned the game to my N10 via playstore. Will report in a couple of hours who it works on mine.
It really would be a shame to have such a great game not propperly working on our 'flagship' tablet. Do you maybe have this 4x anti alising thing active?

Here's a video I just made of Real Racing 3 on my Nexus 10 connected to TV with HDMI with FPS Meter running (top left of screen). Recorded with Galaxy S2 at 720p and edited a bit (to hide my rubbish driving )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdcTbyt2fWo
Runs great. FPS drops to just below 30 on a few occasions but not really noticable. Most of the time it is 30-50 FPS. TBH there is some lag in the intro videos and the menus but who cares about that.
.....IF ONLY it had gamepad support!!!!
