yeah I know u never get the full amount of storage advertised due to the 1024 bytes per mb etc . I just thought that only getting 25 gb is a little bit low for a 32.gb version of my s3
can anyone tell me why so low thx

25Gb for data + 1.5GB for system partition + 1Gb for cache partition + 390Mb for dev partition + 20Mb for efs partiton (and maybe more partitons that I forgot...)
The 32Gb are not only for your data...

I noticed that my TP has less total size than it used to be (it might be due to making 2 chroot partitions) (for the record i have the 16GB version).
So i opened lvm and typed the pvs command and saw that my current PSize is at 14.19GB and PFree is at 3.95GB. Im not really familiar with lvm i just saw there were some similar commands for physical (like the virtuals ones which people use to resize their logical partitions to reallocate the missing space after a cm-uninstall).
Anyway, what im asking is how to reallocate those 4 missing GBs, should i run "pvresize +90000 store"? will it affect my currently logical partitions?
This is how the lvscan looks like:

Thats a total of 10280MB
Ok so everyone says this phone has 1gb of RAM but when you open the task manager app it only displays 680mb so wtf? Haha does this phone really have 1gb or only 680mb? It would be a bummer not to have the full 1gb :/
Anyway leave thoughts below
Edit: look at the attached photo and view the top graph, that is the ram, add up the used and unused and you get 680mb so where is the other 320mb that this phone is supposed to have?

It's reserved for other things so it doesn't show.....things like the gpu and such...

This is failrly common with any device and memory..
Wish the phone had a lil more memory but it may be overkill at the moment.. Hopefully the gs3 started the 2gb trend so next versions of os will start to take advantage
Hey folks, Long time..
I am havin low memory issues inspite of the fact that i have a 500 MB partition on my sdcard. Below is the Memory Storage Info:

It clearly shows that i've got enough free space on the partition,i.e.,"/data/sdext2/"
As you see, "/data" and "/sdext2" are all empty !
I am wondering :
1) If the partition aint located in "/data/sdext2/", then whats the path for it ?
2) Why does it show low memory despite my external partition is free of space ?
Any help would be appreciated...
FYI, I am using Pranjal's Rom 4.0
Edit: I am on 500 MB ext4 partition on a 16 GB class 6 micro sd card .
Hi,
I have rooted old phone with low internal storage and Link2SD installed.
The problem is, that even if I have almost all aplications linked (by Link2SD) to SD card, I've got low free space on internal storage.
I've executed "du -h -m -d 1" command to get sizes of all subfolders in "/data" folder (which I suppose is internal storage) and the results are in attached file.
Whole /data directory size is 297 MB.
/dalvik-cache + /sdext2 is 207 MB in total. Other folders' sizes are negligible.
My question is: Where is the difference of 297-207=90 MB?
Thanks for replies

but I have not managed to add to 1.4GB of swap memory to 448MB micro sd system
I hope you can help thanks :good::fingers-crossed::silly:
um, its already activated. you see the VMEM? it just wont show up in settings menu. pretty much acts the same as Link2SD. btw swap is slower. easier solutiom would be to change rom, or de-bloat and freeze some running apps.
