Hai,
I am having a problem with the scrolling of a live wallpaper which I recently downloaded. When switching between homescreens, the wallpaper scrolling stutters horribly and causes the homescreen animation to stutter too. From what I can tell, the problem is not performance-related, as the UI is still running at 60fps while it stutters, so I think it might simply be a problem with the wallpaper.
Is there any way to disable live wallpaper scrolling? The wallpaper itself does not have this option, but I am wondering if there might be another way?
The wallpaper is called "Sakura Falling Live Wallpaper" on the Market.
Thanks! :3

Dude,
I think it's a bit harsh that you've left the dev a user review on Google Play page saying that his app needs fixing when you've only tried it on an unofficial leaked ROM.

I would not have done so were it the case that the ROM could be responsible. The same problem occurs on my ICS Transformer Prime.

Which ROM are you on? Some offer simple flashable mods for disabling wallpaper scrolling (it's a simple integer value in systems).
Also, are you using Stock TW, or an external launcher?

Hey everyone - having a slight problem with my all-time favourite wallpaper (which I brought along from my Symbian device) in combination with GO Launcher Ex.
Whenever I try to choose it as my homescreen wallpaper it gets zoomed in and very pixelated - TouchWiz doesn't have that problem.
Unfortunately Google & site search weren't able to provide a satisfactory solution ..so, anyone have an idea how to get it working?

Try to get that pic in 480 x 800 resolution, it will fit perfectly for portrait mode wallpaper.

Cheers mate, seems to have worked!
Blew the pic up to 480*852 first and then cropped 52 pixels from the top (only black anyways).
Resolution still seems to be fine enough.
Guess another possibility would have been to make a new all black 480*800 image and copy mine into the centre of that ..
Mmh. Will try that aswell.

Crap. Just installed the newest version of GO Launcher and back to zoomed wallpapers we are - regardless of size. Only way to fix it is to switch back to TouchWiz and then back to GO Launcher again - which sucks.
!%#'"ยง!
What if you use Wallpaper Set and Save or Wallpaper Plus? They come out very sharp when I use apps like these.
I have noticed this bug as well. I can get it resolved by going back to the default launcher temporarily, set the wallpaper there, then relaunch Go Launcher, and it seems to be correct. It only happens to portait pics where there is no background scroll though.
Could it not be due to the wallpaper being in scan mode (as you go through the 7 screens the background image moves along)? Because in my HD2 (in SD Android) would select a square-ish area from the centre of the image I wanted as a wallpaper. When I changed it to the same image for all screens, then the selection of the image was in the same shape as the screen.

Are those Apps? Haven't heard of them before and might give it a shot - however there's probably also a certain increase in battery use associated with that method, something I'm not sure I'm prepared to accept.

Yup, exactly the same here. If only it weren't for the GO Launcher Calendar widget, I'd try another launcher or stick with stock TouchWiz ..

I have unticked that option, the background isn't scrolling.
Meh..

The problem seems to be known but possibly not recognized as a problem by the GO Dev team:
After the research, it seems the wrong of Android system. Because the API we use to get wallpaper of system give us the zoom wallpaper.

Also, another possible solution seems to be https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture - however, Live Wallpaper = more juice required.
Same here happened. I just switch to TW luncher and back to GO luncher
Actually, installing the latest update of the GO Calendar widget seems to have fixed the problem.
When I installed it the wallpaper first bugged out again but when re-setting it, it worked fine without switching to TouchWiz. Perhaps that'll work for someone else, too.

Had same problem, stopped using stock gallery to select wallpaper, and started using qpix to select wallpaper, and it works fine for me now. Seems problem for me was the stock gallery app I was using to select the wallpaper.
Currently having the same issue and neither TW or GoLauncher is playing nicely with me.

I am having a problem I am using GO Launcher Ex and my backgrounds appear to be zoomed in a little bit even though when I'm setting the wallpaper it is fully zoomed out with the orange box. It has only recently happened because it never did that before and it happens no matter what wallpaper I set.
Android 2.3.6 CheckROM GT-i9100
Anyone have any answers?
Thanks.

Just an update: I found that switching back to twlauncher fixed the problem with the wallpaper! Switched back to Go Launcher Ex and it stayed fixed. Weird.
In case that doesn't work
Hey I found that my background would not scroll if I swapped to the tw launcher and then back, and it seems that its the default wallpaper selector. I use wallpaper wizardii and choose the scroll option when setting wallpaper and it works great.
I wanted to give LauncherPro a try again which worked really well on my Evo 4g. My problem is that pictures that I've taken with my front camera wont display fullscreen and require me to crop them directly in the middle in order to use them which makes the image much bigger. When using Sense it does not do this and allows me to use the image fullscreen. I really do not like my background being stretched through tabs . Any solutions?? Any info would be great!
I've been googling for a good hour or so and have come up with absolutely nothing.
Just realized that it has nothing to do with LP in general, but any other launcher. They try to force me to crop the image and while cropping I can't select the whole image, but the image is already in proportion to the fullscreen.
Go Launcher does this for me too. I don't know how to correct it either.
I believe you are talking about wallpaper scrolling. In go launcher it's under screen settings-disable wallpaper scrolling. Launcher pro its appearance settings-disable wallpaper scrolling. I'm trying to decide between the two right now

Unfortunately, while you can disable wallpaper scrolling in the various launcher apps, you cannot disable the way in which it wants to crop the image. Even if you go from Launcher Pro back to Sense it will still try to crop images for the wider, scrolling format. A hot restart after switching back to Sense was the only way to solve this for me. I didn't try that after switching off the wallpaper scrolling option in Launcher Pro so it's worth a shot.
Ultimately, I just gave in and found or made a bunch of wallpapers of a 1080x960 dimension that look great scrolling in Launcher Pro.
I found a solution. Wallpaper Wizardrii allows you to set the wallpaper correctly! It's free on the android market and worked flawlessly.

Hi everyone, i'd just like to share this little custom UI tutorial using ADW EX, Multipicture live wallpaper and simple text. I had just had a lot of questions on how I had set up my simple text icons and how I did my UI in general, so i'm going to show you

A step by step tutorial would be great. At least to get the full effect. Your setup is definitely pretty nice.
Yeahhhh , agree with that!!! , You do it like a very general way , It would be great if you could backup your adw ex settings , and tell us which animations transitions you use and detalis like that.
I saw the video , but my tablet is far way from look like yours

Which widgets do you use for the Calendar and Music?
Very nice, but too complex for me LOL, i've tried few of those "Launchers" but too many options to play with and not easy way to understand them. You gotta have bunch of time to understand all of that.
I uninstalled them all.

I see,
In ADW ex, make sure you have UI settings -->Screen Preferences--> 10 desktop rows and 10 desktop columns and Hide status bar selected
General behaviour ---> Animations and effects: My scrolling speed is 1800, bounce is 9, wallpaper scrolling is enabled
Mulltipicture live wallpaper just has double tap to change picture and show reflection on top/ bottom..
Not much else I can think of, if you get stuck just give us a yell

Any idea where Simple Text stores the buttons it creates? I want to reuse them and not recreate for each page. Thanks!
I have customized ADW to have 10 rows and columns. Now there is long space between icons on home screen. How do I rectify?
Ignore. Icons are working fine.
Is that calendar app Jorte or Jotre? I managed to find Jorte in the market.
If I use "Hide Status Bar" setting, the status bar is still visible. On top of that, if I click on settings, then the menu is partially visible on the screen? Any suggestion?
When I used that Simple Text, I just got an icon on screen, I can't get that text like you got it...
Im having similar errors as the above post. I cant make the adw launcher top bar go away for the life of me. And in the multi live wallpapers it freaks out and freezes the picture when I reach the last page of five and it wraps around to the first one. It doesnt transition there. Any ideas on fixes? I've done each and every setting in the multi wallpaper app for fixing that and none work...
OP, how were you able to use a live wallpaper with the multi livewallpaper app?

At this point it's impossible. Multi livewallpaper only works with image files atm
Haven't tried .gifs but there's not much point + that's kind of lame haha.

Actually, I'm thinking what just hasn't been made entirely clear is that the exodus live wallpaper wasn't actually being run as part of the multi live wallpaper. Video editing just gave the impression that the live wallpaper spontaneously appeared.

Excuse me if I missed it but I'm interested in getting my wallpaper cropped, panoramic, and scrolling as they did in my Galaxy S2 and Fascinate. I know some people are using different launchers to accomplish this. Which one and are they able to crop the wallpaper properly prior to setting it? I also have one other request. I need my live wallpapers to scroll as well since I have one that slightly rotates in either direction when panning thru my home pages. Why is this feature not included on the Note? I sure do miss it. Thanks for your assistance.

I was wondering this myself. I was quite boggled when I went to make my wallpaper my favorite TRON: Legacy wallpaper with LauncherPro and it was completely wrong.
I can get them to scroll when using ADW and Go launchers but it doesn't change the fact that we have to crop them in a portrait shape instead of a landscape shape like we want. Also, my live wallpaper will not rotate no matter what launcher I use. I'm doubting ICS will give us this option either. Maybe a custom ROM is our only hope Great, back to the custom ROM world of bugs...
Autosize DbD wallpaper set is the app you need to pick up to crop or fit a wallpaper correctly without having it enlarged.
Scrolling wallpaper works for me on the launcher called ashell
Both these apps are free and lightweight
Sent from the only smartphone designed by Chuck Norris
Do you think this will allow live wallpapers to scroll? I have several that move when moving from page to page when used in my galaxy 2 or fascinate
If you use the skyrocket wallpaperpicker.apk (will try and post it up later)
it allows landscape selection.

I have the Telus version (I717) and with any Launcher (Go, Pro, ADW) I get any standard WP to scroll (if you enable it properly in the Launcher). But I cannot get any Live WP to scroll?
I have been reading on this, and there is a lot of confusion, we need to be specific about wich Launcher and what type of WP (Live or Standard) and if standard your image have to be wider then 800 (preferably 1600).
So my understanding is the stock launcher (TouchWiz) does not have the scroll function, it needs to be added with an app or a launcher. I tested that Pro, Go and ADW sroll standard WP fine with the proper settings and image. But so far there is no way to have Live WP to scroll (for those Live WP that have that feature).
1. Can anyone confirm my understanding?
2. And tell me if there is any confirmation of where this limitation is comming from (hardware, OS, Carrier...)?
3. Also is there any other lead or thread about a potential solution?
thanks.
Does anyone have any update on this problem?
I'm using Apex and my Nexus Revamped scrolls fine. Have you tried Apex?
You have to go into Apex Settings -> Homescreen Settings -> Wallpaper scrolling.
Also, some live wallpapers don't scroll for me.

Microbes, Nexus Revamped and Beautiful Widgets were the only ones I tested for scroll. I haven't tried other launchers, for I was happy with TWlauncher for the longest time. Sorry!
hyukki,
I just noticed that you are using ICS (Apex require ICS), this problem is related to an apparent limitation of the Galaxy Note with Gingerbread, so it does not apply.
Also I am not sure that Microbes, Nexus Revamped and Beautiful Widgets LWP have a scrolling left/right animation when you scroll left/right on home screen?
Thanks anyway,
PS: If you have a Note, how did you upgraded to ICS?

Ah sorry, I shouldn't have assumed. They all do scroll, just as you would expect the scrolling animation to be. Not really sure how I'd explain it.
As to how I got ICS is from one of the threads about ICS leaks. I downloaded the odin exe and got it done really simply. If you are new to flashing/roms, I suggest reading about the process and reverting, nandroid backups, bootloaders and other important things.
