[Q] Liquid ICS *MR2V7* JMOD...Problems managing apps - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had this same problem running the ICS desensed. When I go into app manager and click on an app...it shows calculating next to all info and never changes. I also cannot uninstall apps. I click uninstall and it just stalls on the screen saying uninstalling...and the only way to get out is to hit the home button. Funny thing is after 3 tries, the app suddenly disappears.
Like I said, I had this issue running the ICS Desensed leak. BUt, absolutely no problems running Liquid 3.1 GB.
What gives?

Anybody? Just tried another install and still the same issue. Here's a screenshot

The first couple times I flashed with CWR and I just flashed again today with 4EXT

Have you tried downloading the rom again from a different source and flashing again? It could be a bad download.

I've tried 3 different ics roms...desensed...and both liquid ics roms. All had the same problem. Everything else was smooth and worked fine. As soon as I flash back to GB...it works perfect.
Depressing after the long wait for ics

I'm also using titanium backup to restore all my apps...could that be the issue? Because most were previously installed on my sd?

That's why I suggested downloading them from the market and then restoring the data through tibu. The only time I had issues with ics are with apps that I restored from gb to ics through tibu.

Have you tried that apps2zip app to make a flashable zip of all your apps. Worked fine for me on all the pics builds. Only a couple apps I had to reinstall. Much quicker than TiBul. Just make sure it only zips user apps and not system apps too. My first try I did that by accident.
But boot into the from first then boot back in recovery.
And my first zip was made off my stable gingerbread setup. ics seemed to handle it fine

Well I reflashed and manually downloaded the apps from the market. All was well for a few and even moved most to sd. But, then it started up again...stuck on computing and won't allow me to do anything to the app.
Bout to say f it and go back to GB

Damn that sucks. I wish I could help you more. Try formatting all your partitions in ext3.

Thanks for trying though.
I just restored my GB, because I couldn't deal with it LOL. Always something. I did everything I could think of and definitely tried searching for similar problems, but none. I just am stumped that it works fine on GB, but none of the ICS. And nobody has reported a similar issue.
Ill probably flash again in a week lol

Here is some quick info, for those that are debating leaving CM7.
Some (but not all) things that DO NOT WORK:
Netflix
HD-Youtube
Mic
Camera
Some Market apps
Titanium Backup
Most of the hardware problems from CM7 still exist in this CM9 alpha build.
awesome. I don't care how many problems it has since my touchpad is just sitting in my room doing nothing and being lazy.
Downloaded already in case I'm not up early enough tomorrow lol

Downloaded from here and seems to be working without fixer.
EDIT:
calendar not syncing. trying fixer now.
EDIT 2:
flashed fixer now calendar syncs too. gmail and calendar look so freaking awesome in ICS totally loving it.
It is very nice for alpha. Smooth and I haven't tweaked it in the slightest yet.
Super smooth upgrade, looks awesome!!!

Did you forget to include ClockWorkMod Recovery in the update folder on SDCard /root?
if you don't care about losing your data you can just flash the zip as you normally would from CWM.
Working pretty good so far. Just had a reboot with root file explorer but otherwise very smooth and usable.
edit: maybe i downloaded the wrong file, but is there a gapps with the new google music? the 7.1 that i downloaded that was linked on page 1 has the old music apk.
Smooth as butter.
Works great, didnt have any issues updating using ACME installer 2.
I flashed through cmw, I rebooted and all is well

this is what i been waiting for hope a full ICS will be for the picking in the next month or so BIG UPS to the CM team A+++ with the open source for anyone to work on killer move HAPPY NEW YEAR
it's amazing....
Sounds good. I need Titanium Backup to work though
I tried a bunch of Titanium Backups and I got 4.0.2 to work.
4.7.x, 4.6.x, 4.5.x don't seem to work. 4.0.2 works perfectly.

Working Titanium Backup - CM9 A.0

Let's be real, this deserves its own thread. Many people live by the sword of Titanium Backup and it's currently broken in the first Alpha of CM9 for the Touchpad. I've searched through about 9 threads and several info files and have yet to resolve this issue.
So far there seems to be a Superuser issue that doesn't seem to effect Titanium Backup Version 4.0.2, which you can get HERE. That said, restoring files continues to fail. Has anyone had success with this? If we can get a fix I'll update this post to help others.
i agree it deserves a thread...but why in development section? why not in General or Q and A section?
I would suggest just using important apps only until this is fixed. Way too alpha of a build to load up a ton of apps.

My biggest attempt was to check compatibility and display of apps I use regularly. I'm not concerned with stability at this point, I just wanted to load a ton of data and apps and see what sticks.
I just flashed CM9 over CM7 - everything worked fine and all my apps are still there
I don't see why they don't just use My back up root until titanium is fixed. It put all my apps and data back perfect.

I just flashed cm alpha0 and ran into this problem. Will try the 4.0.2 and restore some of my apps just to try everything. Looking forward to New versions with fixed titanium.
Will try my Backup root. First have to migrate Backups from phone
You know if you use ACMEinstaller2 there's no need to wipe anything. I was able to keep my apps/data/settings and I'm yet to run into any issues. This was mentioned in Dalingrin's OP on RootzWiki.

And Titanium Backup still works for you? Didn't for me.
Freezing apps does not work, and restoring apps only works if you set the app proccessing mode to INTERACTIVE.
I remember a similar issue on CM7 for the Epic 4g.

My point is you won't lose any of your apks + data. The only reason I use TB is make batch backups of my apps (which I did prior to flashing CM9), since i didn't have to wipe, not being able to restore is not an issue for me.
As worthless as this thread is becoming, it does appear that the newest version of Titanium Backup (4.7.4) does seem to be working after removing and updating superuser. Well, once at least. Functionality is back to broken again it seems.

If you first install the app from market, you can install the data from titanium. That worked for me. The only hassle is that you have to do it one by one.
Edit: I'm running the pro version 3.8.7. There's a link for it here somewhere.
thanks! i needed TB to run whatsapp on CM9
4.5.2.2 is working for me. dont know if itll work for everyone though.

[Q] Restore selected apps with Titanium?

Ok, before I get flamed, I know there's a batch option in TB to restore all apps you have a backup of in one shot. However, I have backups of a bunch of apps I don't necessarily want installed right now, but I don't want deleted completely either. I'm running Newt's OneXXX RLS 1, and he just updated it to 2.1. I just got all my apps that I want installed on this, and don't feel like doing them one-by-one again if I update. My question is this: Is there a way to make a zip or something of just the apps I currently have installed on this ROM, and then to run it on the install of 2.1 so that only those apps will be installed? BTW, yes, I'm using Pro.
I just deselect the ones I don't want installed in batch.

I'm trying to flash the factory image, the included one fails, so I went and got my own, but its not rebooting as I expect it would?
when the cmd box comes up on the computer it says "wait for your device to finish booting up" but mine never reboots?
I can get into the bootloader, and into TWRP, but even after factory reset is keeps giving me this: android.process.acore has stopped
and I can't get past the "google & location" setup screen.
am I missing something with flashing the factory image?

I didn't want to be the guy who gets all excited and posts the same damn question in three different forums. But now its been a day and a half, and I just got a call that's going to take me out of the country again next week, so I'd like to fix this sooner rather than later.
Rather than threadjack, perhaps I should make a new post? oh well, you asked!
This tablet is my second android device (I came from a TP2), and my first is a Moto DX2 with a locked bootloader. I have flashed roms and used the moto sbf process and even tinkered with radiocomm for the TBH 3G hotspot hack, but unlocked bootloaders and Samsung devices are new to me.
I unlocked and rooted fine, and then tried to use Wug's toolkit to flash the inverted apps (and didn't nandroid like a dummy). That's when things went south. The calendar worked, talk force closed, it duplicated the email app, but the inverted one force closed, and the people/contacts app is where I think things got really borked. The tablet is currently running, but the people app is totally missing. I can get into the bootloader, and into TWRP, and I've factory reset a few times but the issue remains. I thought flashing the factory image would be like the moto sbf process and bring me back to stock. It seems like the toolkit isn't flashing it though, because it never reboots, it just hangs at the bootloader.
After the initial flash of those apps it took me a while to get through setup, because that "android.process.acore has stopped" error kept occuring. After trying a while I finally fully booted and that's where I'm at now.
I have not previously used adb or the sdk, but again thought the toolkit would do it?
______________________________________________________________________
Edit: well I tried the mskip tool instead and that flashed the factory image just fine.
I had some wierdness with the play store disappearing after an update, but I just re-downloaded the apk and that seemed to solve that.

Mysterious File on SD

A mysterious file is always generated on my SD card no matter how many times I format it or delete the file. The file has an extension of "MOLOGIQ" and is usually named ".06ba141d-a652-464b-b7c2-0932d1a1402b.mologiq". I have a fear that it is a spyware application that's hidden in my phone. I really can't seem to get rid of it. Any help understanding this or getting rid of it is much appreciated. My phone is rooted, S-OFF, 4EXT. This occurs on any ROM/kernel and even with full wipes and formatting I can't seem to get rid of it.
Just from googleing it comes up as stealth mode start up advertising, which sounds like a load of crap, don't know how or where you got it but it don't sound good
thisis50.com if its hot its here
If a full wipe doesn't fix it, all I could suggest is formatting SD again, through your PC, then run the ruu

I'm a flashaholic if that's how you spell it. v.v
It shows up on any ROM I use. Even on the ROMs that have full wipe aroma, I've even used ROMCleaner, and all the wipes in 4EXT, including SD. Thanks for the suggestion guys. If anyone else has anymore I can try, you're more than welcome.
Can I use a logcat to detect this app? Maybe format or delete the file and turn on the logcat and then wait until a it returns and find the item in the log?
