[Q] Transfering contacts from Samsung Strive to Samsung Galaxy SIII? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Samsung Strive interfaces with New PC Studio software from Samsung and Samsung Galaxy SIII with Kies (neither phone works with the other software). Also, Samsung Strive uses a larger SIM card than Samsung Galaxy SIII. Is there a simple way to transfer the contacts from my Samsung Strive to my Samsung Galaxy SIII or do I have to go manually though the lists?

If there's a way you can export your contact list from your strive to csv format, then you can just upload that csv in google contacts then import it to your S3.

Thanks, looks like this should work.
One problem is that some entries only have numbers and no name associated with them in the import, but they do have the names on the phone.

Why don't you just Google them all then you won't have to worry about this ever again?

[Q] samsung galaxy ace - rom update for email?

Hello,
I have a samsung galaxy Ace and am very impressed.
I have downloaded the new 2.3.4 ROM from samfirmware.com and it works fine.
However the standard email app on the ace has the "feature" of putting all my exchange folders in tabs along the top (this was the same in 2.2.1 guise) - this crashes the app as I have many folders.
I have looked at the Samsung S2 (and other android devices) - the email app it uses does not have the same feature. Folders are selected via the menu.
So can anyone tell me if the ROMs in this section still use the same standard Ace email app (i.e. folders in tabs) or is there a way of building a ROM with the S2 email App??
Many many thanks for any help received.

.smm notes to S3?

I used to have Galaxy S so when I backuped my notes, KIES exported them to .smm format. From what I see, though, S3 (particularly S Note) uses .ssm. Can I somehow convert the first into the latter? Or maybe somehow make the S3 open .smm?
Just got me an S3 as well and also interested in how I can transfer notes to the S3?? Anyone?

[Q] Cyanogenmod and Samsung Apps

Hello,
I do have a Samsung Galaxy SII with the newest cyanogen mod update. Well, the fact is, I love the Samsung Calendar app (its overview, features and so on) much more than the included google calendar.
Is it possible to get the Samsung Calendar app on my cyanogenmod phone?
Thanks in advance,
Kifog

Samsung S-Memo?

I had a lot of memo's using "S-Memo" on my S4 before I upgraded to the S6 Edge, but as S-Memo is not on this phone, is there any way I can view my previous s-memo's on my S6 Edge, or better still, get this app installed?
I've even tried looking for an app that supports the S-Memo format, but I can't seem to find one....
There must be a simple way to get them transferred/converted so that they show on the current memo app on the phone?
Isn't S-Note compatible with S-Memo? I seem to recall that it used to be.

Dave

Brilliant. I just installed S-Note and it opens all my previous S-Memo documents!
Thank you very much.
could you please tell me where you installed the S note from? I am having the same problem with my S6
I need S-Note or S-Memo on Galaxy S6
I can find no way to load S-Note or S-Memo onto my S6 Edge. I have saved the SNB files but can find no way to access them via a compatible tool or to migrate them to another tool. I can read them via S Note Viewer but what good is that?
Hi I found it a really big problem transferring my S. Memo logs onto my new S7 Edge and spent a huge amount of time trying to find a way but to no avail.
But I worked it all out myself so
The best and easy way I discovered was
1. go to Google Play and download S. Note on to your new phone,
2. Then on your old phone set up a Samsung account if you don't already have one,
3. Once you do that sync all your S. Memo to Samsung cloud,
4. Now connect your new phone to your PC
5. Staying still signed to the Samsung account download/ sync all your S. Memo from the cloud on to S. Note on your new phone, you can even download on to S. Note on your computer and view them. Hope this helps
Regards Patrick
