You need to read the rules mate before posting, try asking again in Q&A , but make it clear that you mean for GSM, not that theres difference for cam libs between cdma or gsm, you don't want to ask then a developer makes a cdma working version which is no use to you

ROM chef said he had it fixed, but sold his 3d before he could release it.

Lulz I don't think a time frame from HTC would mean much anyway. I'd read rumor, but don't recall a source, sorry, that 3VO would be getting an ICS OTA late first quarter 2012. It would seem that if they are working on the new OS for it they wouldn't bother to leave it with their old UI, so my guess is thenish.

The only reason I had to root my Desire was never Sense. I won't have it with my EVO 3D.

Than you for taking the time OP, we are all interested in the update. However, there are a million and one threads on the topic, and if as you say you have been reading a lot already.... then then was no need to start a new thread.
MODS: Can we get ONE of the threads PURELY for ICS info posts, and just lock all the others? It is pointlessly taking up forum space now on this stuff.
When its there we will all know it, until then just keep waiting or run a custom rom with ICS an lose the 3D and camera until official ICS is released.

too many of these threads pop up all over the place and we did have a few that were actually useful but seems as time goes on everyone wants to post a new thread on it now...

The problem is with each ICS thread the OP isn't updated over time to show the latest rumors/news...most are just made and left...hence the multiple threads...
If done it'd be with pstevep permission like the EVO thread I did. Makes it easier for the actual forum mod as they can just lock/delete the new threads created and direct people to the one...
Look I don't care honestly. Was just a suggestion that'd make it possibly easier to follow...

i have Htc Evo 3d gsm with stock rooted rom "EU_Shooter_U-1.20.401.8_ROOTED.zip", s-off via htcdev and cm v 5.0.2.0 revolutionary. today i received ics via ota, but when i try to install zip manual from recovery i received this error:
assert failed: check_cid(getprop( "ro.cid" ),"00000000"..... (Status 7).
How can i install now official ics?

You need to turn back to original state. So original firmware, kernel and recovery.
So flash ruu.exe of gingerbread and then update to ics.

Yes people post in the wrong sections but flaming at them is a case of 'two wrongs don't make a right', there are better ways of telling people what to do apart from being condescending about it....It's not like the people flaming are paying for the hosting space or their servers are being clogged up....so just keep calm and carry on to a different thread

To get back to the original question, I suggest you keep your root and S-off and just have patience until one of the awesome devs posts a custom rom based on the new ota.

Once you recognize that someone is part of the "me" generation, which is not necessarily age dependent, it's best to ignore them and move on. There are still plenty of users on these forums who need and appreciate the help.
