[Q] Any full-device-encryption ROM available for Xperia Mini st15i? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The stock ICS ROMs for the st15i have device encryption removed. Why Sony, WHY?!?!?!?! Argghhhh.
So I've unlocked my bootloader and tried FXP136 9, 9.1 and 137/10 as well as CM9 & 9.1 and plenty of others using various kernels from CM to FXP to extended stock and although some ROMs have the encryption button and even seem to begin the encryption process (green droid appears), none of them actually DO anything; i.e. after letting them run for 10 hours, nothing happens and when I hit the HOME key it just pops back to the home screen. I've even tried formatting my SD card so there's less to encrypt, but still no joy.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! :good:

I am looking for full-device-encryption ROM for Xperia U st25i (and S LT22i)

Xperia X10i randomly restarts

Hi,
My phone started behaving strangely (random but very frequent restarts). Here is what I have done so far:
- Bought new battery - charged externally as well
- Tried separate sim cards
- Formatted the SD card
- Using Flashtool v0.9
- Flashed stock and numerous other ROMs
- Unlocked the boot loader / root the phone
- I did remove userdata and cache when flashing
However neither the upgrade to 2.3.3 nor the downgrade using the Sony ericsson suite helped. Now I have the android v2.3.4 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516960.
The frequency of reboots and shutdowns has definitely reduced but it still occurs rather often and sometimes even before you get to the home screen.
Please suggest what else can I do about it now.
regards
Ali
My phone also started to make me the same problem he's stuck for a few seconds and then do a restart
It happens several times a day
Hope someone will help us :/
How much free RAM and internal memory do you have?

[Q] Help !!! I think i screwed my touch drivers or calibration or my hardware

Hi all,
I was trying different ROMs on my Xperia mini st15i. So, i was trying MIUI with extended stock kernel and everything was working fine for a week, until one fine day, my phone hung up on me. I restarted it, and found out that miui was crashing ( it was restarting the phone on its own after i tried to unlock it). So i tried re-installing it. The problem persisted. So i decided to change the kernel. I flashed in rage kernel and installed MIUI again. But since then, my touch was not responding. (Not even touch buttons - back and options button). So i flashed back extended stock kernel. At least my buttons were working now but the touchscreen was not responding. Tried installing Cyanogen after flashing the kernel again, the device is not being identified as ST15i or smultron. Could it be possible that i might have screwed up my device somehow during the flashing-re-flashing cycle i got into out of panic.
What could be the solution to this problem. (I know one of the solns is going to Sony Service centers but they charge a lot.)
Tried flashing stock ftf?

[Q] Several major bugs with AOKP (Neo MT15i)

Hi. This is first time I rooted and changed something to my phone's core system. I bootloaded through Flashtool and got in the newest kernel, ROM and GApps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613017 and my baseband is 77 (http://www.mediafire.com/?1oyztnqww22bgek). Things looked fine and my system was working as it should. But soon I was starting to see these bugs:
Screen moving from left to right and back at recovery menu on vol up/down press. Not a big bug though, still possible to work with the menu and read the text.
No lockscreen. Tried all the lockscreen options at settings, but power button still just turns the screen on and off. I can only see the lockscreen right after I reboot my phone and before I enter the PIN, the wheel works as I've set it but then I can't get into the lockscreen anymore.
Strange menu button functionality. Firstly, when I was in the home screen and pressed the menu button, a menu with system settings popped up. Now nothing happens, for both HW and SW buttons. Since the time it worked I was just messing with settings but I'm sure I didn't disable anything like that.
Browser and Google Play not working, Play says RH-01 error, browser just crashes. GMail works.
Tilt not working properly. It did after the fresh install, but now it works only for menus, not for homescreen like it did before. I've tried running a widesecreen-only game but it's being displayed in normal, portrait mode- with errors. Enabling/disabling the tilting didn't help.
And I believe that there are more bugs I didn't mention. I did everything as told in this article http://www.theandroidsoul.com/aokp-xperia-neo/, just with getting the newest links instead of the ones provided. I installed the Hallon version of AOKP and I was running GB 2.3.4 before, if that helps. And like I said- I am doing it for the first time so I am quite new to these things, so firstly sorry if I didn't mention anything important and please describe the steps about how to fix it a little bit more detailed. Thanks!
Hi..
That ROM is legend sometimes ago,and dont have problems like you said.
The step I did was like this :
1. Flash full firmware ICS(.ftf file)with flashtool.
2.Flash kernel
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash Gapps
5. Flash Add-on if any
Enjoy

MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_Global.ftf ICS firmware and hallon kernel flashed through Flashtool, then rebooted into system. Then in revocery I wiped cache, dalvik and reseted to factory, installed the newest AOKP ROM, installed GApps, booted into system. My screen is still moving from sides as the screen refreshes in recovery. But after booting, still the same issues persist...
Inside the old recovery, screen dancing is known issue, try Flash other kernel,no harm changing kernel.
Can you provide,Aokp ROM version and kernel you have..

AOKP Hallon JB Milestone 1
I tried the CM10.1 and my recovery menu fixed but the bugs weren't fixed, so then I flashed the CM10 and my recovery menu changed again, now with black background and again, fixed animations. But then my device bricked so I flashed again the MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_kernel.ftf.
Couldn't you just send me links to a working combination of kernel-firmware with AOKP? The requirements says I need baseband 72/77, do you have any links or tips for these? I've tried several combinations but just none really worked, now I am on stock laggy JB 4.0.4 and I have no idea what to try now...

FeraLab issue

Hello everyone!
Previously I stated that I had problems installing custom roms to my Xperia X10i, so I tried out FeraLab's ROM out of pure randomness. I followed the video and everything like I should and it started up. When I input my PIN code it just stays there. No menus or anything. Only thing I have is the slight menu for restarting, turning off and take a snapshot when I hold the Power button. Also, which is very weird is when I hold down the menu button I get a keyboard. That's all.
Is this a common issue in FeraLab's rom? I would really like to use it since I can now charge my battery (it seems) when I connect to PC via USB. Something that failed before in my previous ROM (Mokee Epic).
Please help,
Re-install the ROM, make sure u format system, data etc before you flash again...

[Q] Xperia Mini Pro back key problem

I own xperia mini pro (sk17i) and I have problem with back key button. My back key sometimes activates on its own, without pressing it, and touch somethimes becomes unresponsive, so i need to reset my phone via keyboard. Phone is on ICS 4.0.4. and i tried every software, even custom rom (cyanogenmod 9.1) but it still happens. I heard that this problem called "overheating" problem, but i even tried to type script in GSrcipt lite, like says on one source, but after this, everything stays the same. I love this phone , and i want to fix this issue, so please help if you know! Thanks!
The problem with "calibration" is that it was researched for/by peeps who use smultron ..
Idiot n00b bloggers pasted the same code and "expected" it to work as such which is not the case....
Mini pro has 4 drivers ...
Touch_mango_hitachi.hex,touch_mango_seiko.hex,touch_mango_sony_type1.hex and touch_mango_sony_type2.hex
In any case,if you check hw_config.sh,minipro is calibrated automatically and it doesn't require any calibration ...
If you are using any scratch guard ,please remove it and check if there is dirt between the sticking ...
Alternatively, flash .431 ftf instead of .587 or vice versa ...it might remove bugs...
