Hi guys,
I'm running 4.1.B.0.431 pure stock (no root/never flashed anything) firmware and I'm experiencing this bug - every time I try to connect to any (and I mean ANY - I tried tens of WPA2, WEP and Open networks), it will connect at first (with good signal strenght as I always tried it standing next to the router if it was a problem with signal) but immediately disconnect and then won't even find that network that I connected to before, I have to wait a minute or two to find it again, but then the procedure repeats.
Can anyone help me ?
P.S. : there is no problem with router as I tried changing every single option on my home network, upgrading firmware of router and entering my MAC,nothing helped.. I also tried lots of other networks so I assume the problem will be in my phone, but - where ?
Thank you very, very much.

not yet, but I don't want to lose my apps and don't have any other backup method - I would go for that only if it was really the solution.
You can backup your apps via android assistant.. Also you can backup contacts via Google about..

I'm running on CM 9 on my Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman. For almost a month I haven't had a problem with my Wi-Fi connectivity. But, since the last 2-3 days, I'm having connectivity issues.
It says connecting then Obtaining IP Address and then loops around. It never gets connected. Can somebody please try helping me out with this.
P.S. I found some new_wifi_modules.zip and tried installing that but without any success so, apart from that, if you got any suggestion please help me out.
Thanks in Advance
Try change your kernel or Reinstall the rom

Does it happen randomly or in cetain locations? Wehn the phone has problems does also the wifi on the computer? My phone caused some troubles at home over the wifi network, it gets conflicting IPs with other pc's in the house so i had to do some router dhcp mapping

Nope, always but only since the last few days. Before that, everything was normal. Nope, it's not a problem with the wifi cause my laptop's not having problems.

I haven't had this problem for over a month. I think it should have been a problem if it was the kernel or the ROM

My girlfriends XU is acting up ultimately weird..
Since some time we have this problem:
Wi-Fi only works for about 3 minutes when connecting to a wifi signal, yet the wifi signal icon indicates as if it has a good connection. The only way to regain connection again is to reboot, but then the same problem repeats itself, after a few minutes wi-fi is not working anymore. Also in the wifi-indicator the "send" arrow works, the "receive" arrow doesn't.
Basically if you want to discover a new wi-fi connection you need to reboot the phone also, because otherwise the previous connected wi-fi signal remains (it freezes as stated before after about 3 minutes).
Tried a factory reset already.. Didn't work. The phone runs the stock sony android 4.0.4.
Any idea's ?

Alright, sry then, can't help any further...
Does it happen with all routers or only with your router?
Have you tried to repair using SUS?
Someone one the official forum had a similar problem and it was fixed by repairing the phone using SUS.

Hi,
I have a problem with my Xperia P.
If i'm connected to a wifi network and then go away (lose range), it becomes impossible to turn wifi off. If i click the toggle, it shows it has turned off, but is still on and when i revisit the menu, the toggle appears to be on again.
Any advice on how to put this to a rest? I really don't have the nerves to do a factory reset and resintall/reconfigure everything...
edit: i have the stock ICS firmware and no root access.
Thanks,
M
Have you check it with power recycling?

Hi,
only a factory reset helped. I remebered that i have been trying out some tasker apps, so that must have messed things up. Even uninstalling these apps did not help, beware
I am having the same issue, but whats more I can't scan for new networks when entering a new area. It just shows the ones from the previous area with the strengths they had there.
Rebooting the phone helps to connect once but when I leave that area it's the same **** all over again.
I already brought my phone back to the shop where they sent it to sony for "an update" but nothing changed.
The phone is running the stock android 4.04 ICS
Any help would be greatly apreciated

usually this is from the wifi router setting ... might need to change the channels(1,6,8)....ICS has showed issues on wifi refreshing and reconnecting.. first change the channel from auto to fixed value and then restart your phone and try it again.. see if this helps.. also do let me know if you are on rooted device with custom rom or stock rom...??
WIFI Problem
I am also having same kind of problem on my xperia SOLA

Either you have to do factory reset or rebooting the device might help
Or you can delete all used existing Wi-Fi connection for starting a new Wi-Fi connection

Hmm.. authentication error occurs when the wifi password is wrong on your phone. If somebody changed the password on the modem also this can happen, and I don't know about avg but does it have 3g data management? And are you saying that Mobile Data is not working?
And FYI try a factory reset of your phone, it would most likely fix your problem.

Your router could not be working as it should. If what was suggested above doesnt work, reset both modem and router.

Did you try a factory reset of your phone? So your red arrow ain't working huh? It means that you are not receiving any data.. Could be a slight error or something wrong with the receiver? Can you make proper calls?

i had the same problem . i just changed my wifi channel from 6 to 8 just do the same put your channel 5 or 7 or 8 and evrything will be fine if you dont know how to accesse your router just tell me my wifi connecting all the time without any error good luck
The solution that worked for me was to change the security settings on my router, from just WPA2 to WPA2/WPA. I had tried changing channels and frequencies, as well as my device name.

Try to flash a new modem (I suggest you DL8).
Note that you have first to root the device before flash it with Odin.
