1) nAa doesn't have a 2011 xperia.
2) this belongs in a Q and A secton, not development
3) this is the 2010 mini section.
4) there will already be methods for your device.
5) nAa isn't obliged to do anything, he does it because he wants to.

I can't find it.. can you tell me how to root sk17i 4.0.4 .. ??
You need to downgrade to GB and then use local.prop method. There is a tutorial on the Dev section

Xperia Mini Pro SK17i Update mystery
Xperia Mini Pro SK17i update is mystery, i update my Xperia Mini Pro to 4.0.4 ICS and i experienced certain inconsistencies, after searching for hours it found that i should repair my update and after that do factory default, i did that and it made my phone much better. Now everything is fine accept one think that making me hate my phone, it's battery backup which is very ugly. It hardly goes one day in mostly standby mode.
If anyone else like me is frustrated with only battery issue or know how to fix it than please reply...
This might useful for you ,

hi guys,
I am quite a noob, and trying to figure this xperia thing, after at last I managed to nicely root and flash my htc.
But it seems on xperia it is all working different. What I need, is generally to delete bloatware, to do so I need root.
But to get root I need to flash a ROM first? In htc it's rooting so that you can flash roms. It all gets me confused.
Is there a way then to root without any weird downgroading/flashing roms?
Agnes
If you are on gingerbread you can root it on older Firmware than .62/.69, otherwise you must downgrade and upgrade again. Just Check out my signature

If you want to remove bloatware apps it's easier to remove them from the zip package before you flash the rom.
Open the the rom using 7zip or similar program (open archive NOT extract it).
Then go into the system folder and there is an app folder (system/app).
The app folder contains pretty much most the app's that are on your rom.
Just go through them and delete the app's you don't want, there are plenty of lists around of safe apps to delete/remove, there are some on here and if you google you will find more.
hello everyone..
I have new xperia mini pro and just updated it to ICS 4.0.4 officially.
nothing is done in my phone like flashing or rooting.
whenever i try to customize it using mods it shows flash via CWM.
and with best of my knowledge CWM requires rooting and flashing.
is there any way i can flash zip files without rooting my phone.
or if have to root it please tell me the best way to do it as i think rooting with 4.0.4 is nt possible.
tankyou.

for xperia mini(st15i) there is a temp CWM recovery that you can flash with flashtool(require unlocking bootloader) and you can flash mods and when you reboot the device CWM is gone.
search temp boot for xperia mini pro.if you find maybe usefull for you.
if you find temp boot for your device you can root your device with CWM.
Rooting is the gate to modding pal. . .
You need to do it. . .
Also bootloader should be unlocked as if u wanna install custom rom some of them are only for unlocked bootloaders. . .
Rest use search button
Happy modding

To use CWM you dont need to root your phone but you need to unlock the bootloader and flash a new kernel. This WILL void your warranty but if done correctly it opens a whole world of mods in android. Sony provides an official method of doig the same in their blog(jut google) but using that method makes you loose your drm. I did come across another method(on this forum) which claimed that you could do the same without loosing the drm but I havent tried it out.
You can without unlocking...

Hello.
To use CWM without unlocking your bootloader, I did the following :
Start with an xperia mini pro with official ICS 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431)
First, I rooted my xperia following the topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1701357
Then I used RecoverX to install CWM without unlocking the bootloader : http://www.iphoneandroidtips.org/how-to/recoverx-to-install-recovery-for-sony-xperia-phones/
Then you restart your Mini Pro when Sony appears, keep on taping on Volume down button to enter CWM menu :cyclops:
Then I could install custom ROMs CyanogenTimescape, RealICS, AOKP (Roms that allow locked bootloaders)
I hope that can help you.

Sir i read it thoroughly.. but was unable to root.
wen i was trying 2b. I downloaded Xperia-ROOT.rev4.zip and executed 01-local-prop.cmd it said rooted device not found.
was there something i missed???
Thanks.
You need to have root already, before updating to ICS.
You need rooted Gingerbread in order to root ICS. Make sure ADB drivers are installed.

Hei Mister
As i can see you are very new in this Forum. Did you read the XDA Roules? If not please do so. You can't root your XPU with the Oneclick (jet!?). The only way is to unlock your bootloader and flash a prerooted Kernel. To find out what this means and how to do that please use the SEARCH Button or Google it. The U will get ICS in October Have Fun with your U.

i have an xperia u st25i android 2.3.7
when i decided to root it i was disappointed by knowing my "unlock bootloader allow : no"
plz help :crying: is there anyway to make it "yes" ?

Nope, as of now, there is no way to unlock it.
But you could attain root if you upgrade to ICS, without unlocking your boot loader.

After experimenting around i wouldn't worry about it on the U. Just use gingerbread or update to ics, root, add cwm and flash gb rocks rom. It's the best to use
