To answer your question no. Your phone is a Bluetooth receiver same as your ps3.

There is an app called blueputdroid which allows your phone to be paired with an ps3, with me it works. I only dont know about headset, hope they make it sometime.
I tried multiple roms including ACOP CP2.1 and Black Star V and NFC doesn't work with my dads s3. I turned nFC on and android beam along with wifi and wifi direct. Any thing im missing? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have the exact same problem. I have been trying different roms on my note for the past 2 days and its a no go on CM9, AOKP either. I have been trying to use NFC with my GF's stock ICS Note
Umm yea. NFC also known as (Near Field Communication) technology is built in to the phone battery. If u want to check it should say it right on the phone battery, our Galaxy Note don't come with the NFC battery unfortunately.
Sent from "The King Kong of the cellular jungle, the Galaxy Note!" using Tapatalk 2
Umm our notes don't need a NFC battery man... The back plate has the NFC chip built on it. Galaxy Note i717 is the only Note with NFC.
I know it is possible but can't get it to work...

I ran collective cp1 and now collective cp2 - on my i717 and nfc worked in both
Loving its functionality especially combing it with Tasker
by the way it first didn't work for me until i realized it was my leather case - the case replaced the original back panel and the original back panel had metal strips that served as the nfc antenna - the replacement case did not have these strips so my NFC did not work until i replaced the original back cover

Ok. Maybe a little more specific? The only time I even tried NFC was at a SGS3 display at a Costco. They have 3 little NFC tags that when you set the back of the Note over them, it launches the browser to a tutorial on the SGS3. Other than that that, I've found no other use as of yet.

Thanks. I ended up flashing a near stock ICS ROM to test NFC and it worked in that ROM. When I received my replacement Note I put DAGr8's latest AOKP on it right away. Now that I knew that NFC was working I re-downloaded the latest release AOKP release, Sep 28, and flashed it but NFC wasn't working. So I re-downloaded the last 2 versions of AOKP, Sep 19 & Sep 28,verified the MD5 and flashed them over each other in TWRP. That got NFC working in AOKP for whatever reason for me :silly:
Maybe someone could link to a pretty 9/11 cm10 nightly and then we could try a similar idea. I would try it

So,
I'm reaching out to smarter people then I.
Now that we got S-Off anybody have ideas on how to fix the nfc for wallet or Isis? Also get hulu plus working?
I know a majority of wallet/isis is getting the secure SIM, but I know Isis has a root check. How can we trick it?
Hulu plus seems to not like unlocked devices due to DRM keys being removed. Can we relock and still keep root now? Or how to we trick this app? Its been done on other sense devices.

I would totally love this to happen
From what I understand s-off basically makes it easier to flash complete packages like boot.img and ROMs together
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Right but it also allows you to do things like relock and keep root.
I'm not one of the people who think s-off is a magic pill and will bring aosp, just curious if anyone has given the apps any thought.

Word on the street is we don't have a secure element, and Wallet needs one... so if that's true, it won't happen no matter what we unlock.
I know we can get a secure element sim

If you want HULU Plus to work, just email the devs at [email protected] send them a pic of the error if you can then they will ask you to try some things and if that doesnt work, just advise them and the will send you a questionaire to fill out, Just tell them its stock and not rooted.
I emailed them and went back and forth with a tech to find the issue and now it works fine

I've got a secure element sim, but unfortunately, Google Wallet doesn't seem to look for a secure element on the sim
And even if it did, I think only VZW has the key to the secure element. So Google Wallet stays locked out. Since the sim is provided by VZW, they can argue that they don't need to provide the key to 3rd parties, keeping the monopoly to themselves.
Any chance we can trick isis' root check? I'd be Ok using isis at this point

Ok I did a the modification to actually lock the bootloader.
I actually did a fastboot oem lock. That gave me relock, I then flashed the mod found on the original development dna forum and got locked.

There isn't a secure element in the dna. So that won't work.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I did it on the Evita one x which doesn't either and got it past the insecure element error.
Copy pasting the libs will cause force closing, but if you replace the libs in whatever ROM you use and flash them it works perfectly. Then its just a matter of editing build.prop or the apk to actually get it to register the account.

Okay. The other thing that I would try is doing a full wipe and fresh install of your ROM. If that doesn't work then I'm all out of ideas. This is the first I've heard of something like this. Aside from the Google wallet NFC issue. If that doesn't work, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

The S4 uses a different nfc chipset than older phones and may not be compatible with yours. I can't read any of my old nfc tags with my S4 that worked great with my Evo LTE.

Thank you so much! That's what I figured. It was either that or NFC problems vary from Rom to Rom.
Sent from my EVO 4G LTE using xda app-developers app
That doesn't seem right. I know that the S4 isn't compatible with MIFARE tags, which the evo is. But both phones are compatible with the NTAG203 type tags. So that shouldn't matter.
If you want to test it, order some NTAG203 tags from somewhere like tagsfordroid.com and see if it works. Or see if someone has an S3 that you can compare it with.
Also, I just found this while trying to look up info about your problem. Apparently S-Beam, which is samsungs beaming program, interferes with android beam, which is what the evo uses.
The s4's have s-beam turned on by default, but they also have an option for android beam. So check with your friends and see if that is the case.

I have a rooted stock regular s4.
I didn't check the nfc before I rooted do I don't know if it worked before or not but now I can't use nfc tags at all, I haven't tried other phones because most of my friends are still stuck in pre-nfc devices.
It's the anything I can do to try and fix nfc?
