[Q] Intui reader not working ICS or JB - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have read others with this problem but no one seems to know why. Intuit reader doesnt seem to work with AOKP ICS or CM10. The app will work but the actual card swiper will not. What has changed from GB that wont allow the card reader to work with ICS or JB on this phone? According to intuit's gopayment site, it works with GS3 and galaxy nexus so I would think its compatible with ICS.

Why doesn't anyone use CM7 for G-Tab?

Are the mods of CM7 preferred over straight CM7? Also, just to get HW accel, should one stick with Vegan 5.1?
Just ordered my G Tab from Amazon and wondering what ROM I should jump to.
Thanks for your time.
Each ROM has it's fans but I've been running VEGAn 5.1.1 since it was posted and for me and my needs from a tablet it's rock solid without a bunch of force closes or other issues like I've read other people report about other roms or tweaks (like using different kernels) they've made to them after they've flashed a flavor of rom.
I use my gTAB for games, reading books/magazines/comics, accessing my work computers, watching ripped videos, watching flash videos on sites like HULU (needs hacked Flash) or Fox Television (doesn't need hacked Flash). And I've had access to the Market with almost every app I've needed or wanted show up without any tweaks.
In the end it's really up to the user and what the user wants out of their tablet.
I moved to the Vegan GB ROM mainly because, for some reason, Flash kept malfunctioning on any of the 2.2 ROMs I used. I miss watching videos, but hopefully a GB driver is forthcoming.
On the 2.2 side, I preferred Calkulin's ROM (with pershoot's Froyo kernel) because it was fast, and I also thought it was more tablet-oriented.
My advice is, while your tab is still new and you don't have it as customized as you will in the future, flash every ROM available and take them for a test spin. I'd run Calkulin's Format All zip before every ROM install just to be safe.

Considering how easy it is to do, I second this. It's pretty much what I did before settling on VEGAn 5.11, although I think I may try VEGAn Ginger again.
I am running CM7 on the Gtab without any issues. I chose CM7 rom since I am familiar with it because I am using that on my DInc.
Yeah I was considering VEGAn Ginger too. Let's see how much free time I have this weekend.
I am running cm7 on mine....since all the other versions are based off cm7 anyway. Cyanogenmod does an update and pushes it out...I don't have to wait for the others to update their source base from cm and merge in their rom edits.

Vanilla AOSP Gingerbread:
if you don't mind configuring it alot. I've found it to be faster than any of the Tnts and Vegans. It's supposed to be as close to Google's code as possible. I've also found it to have the most complete market out of all the other roms!
where can one download said hacked flash?

where can i get the hacked flash? i downloaded a 10.1 hacked from a link, but then hulu said i needed a newer flash,
I use CM7 with Pershoot's kernel and VTL Launcher. I've found it quite nice since they integrated in the tablet tweaks. I don't watch videos on it, though, so I haven't had to worry about hardware acceleration. Though, apparently, the last stable release and nightly gives some NVidia tuning, though not full hardware acceleration like Froyo, from what I gather.

I was on CM7... switched to VEGANginger to get screenshots, which still don't work on CM7. When they get screenshots working over there, I may go back
I'm running Corwins CM7 build as it has the ad hoc script built in. I would like to use the original build of CM7 but I'm having trouble with getting it to ad hoc, any advice on how to add that functionality?

You can get the hacked libflashplayer.so file for flash 10.2 here. You need to install the standard flash 10.2 first, though. It's available on the market, but you can also get it here if it doesn't show up in the market for you. I've been running it on CM 7.0.2 and it works great; just make sure to set your browser to desktop (in stock browser, Menu>Settings>Select User Agent; I set mine to linux desktop) and configure the run at boot file transfer script (instructions are in the post).

I have been running CM7 on my gTab since day 1. Very happy with it!
Download the attached zip to mount the internal SD card as /sdcard instead of /emmc if you wish.
You can also Google "CM7GBMod3.zip" to remove all unnecessary CM7 apps to give you a cleaner feel.

Just checked on stock ICS - "Unable to start camera during the call". Sounds like you might have to install a custom ROM (if not already done so), but the one that supports this feature.
According to the previous poster CM9 does the job.
Found out a3rd party app works during calls.
CM9 dose not have the TV out working yet.

Looking for direct wifi app

I have a SGS3 that I have rooted and running CM10...
stock I had 'S Beam' which was awesome. because my gf has sgs3 as well, and i was able to send her videos directly from my phone..
but now that I'm running CM10 and jellybean, I lost this feature on my end
I looked at the app store with keyword 'wifi direct' and came up empty handed.
can anyone help me out find something maybe?
I am running into the same issue with SGS2, no more Wifi-Direct..
I think that Wifi-Direct needs to be integrated in the system, just wait for codeworkx, i'm sure he's gonna add it later on once CM10 gets more stable.

ICS Google Now problems

Hello, I've tried all of the google now zips from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
google now does load up and work for 1 or 2 questions but then the phone will freeze and either reboot or lockup, I've checked the file permissions and everything is correct, I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this on their ICS Atrix 4G, mine is unlocked from Bell Canada running CWM and Turl's most recent CM9
I've had the same problem with Google Now on ICS and have tried everything before finally upgrading to Jelly Bean (I can't live without Project Butter anymore). All those different builds, each one having different issues, right? I have always thought it was just me, but now I see I am not alone... Or maybe it's just us...
Anyway, every single one of my attempts to make it work have failed.
I do have a solution for you though: Maluuba (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ce=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=maluuba)
It's an app available for free on the Google Play Store. It's a bit different from Google Now, it's more like a Siri alternative.

[Q] JellyBam 4.0.0 A few questions

Hey xda,
this is my first post. yaiks :fingers-crossed:
i got a few questions regarding the JellyBam ROM. I'm using Version 4.0.0 on my S3 International (previous T-Mobile Germany, but now unbranded).
Since now i've tried a lot of different ROM's looking if they suit my needs/wants. For now i stick with JellyBam
However there are a few things were i need some information on:
1. I'd like to have the "stock" camera app and gallery, cause i dont really like the aosp camera app.
It has just not the look i want and at the moment it's lacking a lot of options as well.
Ofc i know that there are some Camera Mods that bring the "old" camera back, but i dont seem to get them working. I've tried like four.
If i'm correct, it's actually the Note 2 Camera, right? So could someone tell me which camera mod actually should work with JellyBam ROM?
Don't need links, just the mod name. This way i can be sure that it has to work and its me who is doing it wrong
2. I also want the stock music player back, cause Apollo is, in my eyes, just bs. I didn't went from iPhone to Samsung to have the same stupid music handling. No folder view.....i mean, really?
Copy some music to your sd, switch to player and select the one you want to hear, that's how it should be done.
But with Apollo you only get the option Album, Artist, Title and Playlist. I don't want to make a playlist, when i can put different tracks in one folder.
And most of us probably have a lot of music, where the id tags are not correct...
So is there a mod for the stock player? That would be really nice!
3. Is there a mod for DLNA? Since i dont seem to find it now, with the AOSP ROM. This was pretty handy with my samsung TV
4. I'm using MPE for communication with my pc. However, i only can look through my S3 via MPE. But in the explorer it wont show up. Everytime i connect the phone it says "missing hardware id".
De-/Reinstalling drivers, etc. didnt work. It's not really a problem. But i just dont like work-arounds.
I also need to have the USB-Debugging turned on all the time, otherwise MPE wouldnt connect as well. Does someone has any ideas on that problem?
Thanks in advance. I hope you gents/ladies can help me out.
Cheers,
goop.Q

Anyone?
you can't have any samsung apps, like camera and player, on non-samsung roms like CM, which JellyBam is based on.
Why are you using an outdated version?

Well i'm aware of that all you say.
But as far as i know you are wrong at the same time. there are mods that bring some of those stock apps back to the ROM, sammy-based or not.
And that should go for the camera as well.
For the version thing:
JellyBam 5.x.x is based on AOSP 4.2.x
Version 4.x.x is based on 4.1. and is much more stable at the moment.
Just because there comes a leak every third day or so doesnt mean, i have to get all the updates.
especially when the FW is working fine. why should i want to tweak on my phone forever?
not the camera, and not the player. it won't work on non-Sammy ROMs unless it specifically says that it's been ported
Ok thanks. Will loook for that.
