Hi to everyone,
Sorry for repeating the thread, but I haven't find solution for my problem.
Each time I start Android Market it force close. I tried Android Market v2.2.6, v2.3.6, v3.0.27. I tired to open new gmail account, factory reset, remove SD card, restart, use ZipSigner... and still the same.
Could someone help me?
I have rooted Samsung Galaxy S2, Android Gingerbread v2.3.3, kernel XWKE7.
Best regards!
Wipe phone flash stock firmware via Odin is what i would do .

Also try fixing permissions in CWM that works a lot of the time for FC issues.
Custom rom or theme?
Try cleaning the cache and darlvik cache
Update to a newer stock or custom rom.
Make sure your kernel matches your rom.

Reboot into clockwordmod, advanced, fix permissions, reboot.
Fixing permissions usually (not all the time) does work, other than that i would do a full wipe and start afresh.

I have problem with opening the market, so I can't download "fix permission".
Problem solved.
Hi to everyone,
I made official update of my ROM (according to product code seems that it is now for my country) and got pre installed Android Market that is working.
Everything is fine now.
Thank you for your time and effort.

Hello,
I'm a noob and in need of desperate help. I recently flashed my SGS2 with CM 7.1 I installed all the Gapps and at first it all ran fine. But now the Market keeps on force closing on me with the errors:
com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly please try again
android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly.
I am unable to install/download any apps that I desperately need.
Steps taken:
clear Cache and data
flashed Gapps
Try selecting Language to English (Canada)
downloaded another Marketplace.apk
I am stumped and I don't know what else I can do.
Updating to a newer stock or custom rom will do it for sure
Hey Guys,
i have the following same problem:
Phone: i9001
ROm: MIUI Framework GFAN LUffy ROm
Kernel: [email protected]
XXKPK 2.3.6
Everything is working fine except the market.
The ROM comes without googleMarket.
Ive installed the market via *.apk 3.*.15
Everytime i start the app it loads...after couple seconds, Force Close.
I ve reinstalled the ROm etc,
Wiped Data, Rooted, Wipe Cache , fixed permission, Wiped dalvik cache, reinstalled the market...
Same again...Force Close..
I uninstalled the market via Root Uninstaller,
then reinstalled,
started the app....after a while it loaded the screen of the market, i saw the homescreen of the market. Then i tried to download something "whattsapp" whatever....., same again, FC...
Anybody who has experiences with this issue?
ForceCloses at market?
Thanks
Like Markoldfield said, updating to a stock or newer custom rom will solve it.
had the same issue yesterday after the russian email update mess, the only thing that worked for me was restoring an old version of market with TI
I think i know the answer since i had the same problem that i removed the download app and the download provider
so you get them back or reflash the rom

Hi there,
Is anyone still encountering FC/not dowloading apps for Playstore or market, it might also be the cause of new partition or something like that , you can try this option freely..
1. check if cache folder has "download" folder inside it, if it no download folder then create one inside /cache, e.g. mkdir /cache/download.
2. then chmod the /cache folder to 777, also make sure the com.android.vending folder is present inside /data/data/ folder.
3. You can achive it through shell terminal.
Hope this helps you guys fix the FC(Force close or not downloading apps on playstore or market).
Hit thanks if it helps.
Thanks

Is anyone else having superuser issues? All of a sudden it it is saying I dont have superuser or root access.
There are some issues with superuser. Which version of SU do you have? I believe the most up to date version is 3.0.4 or something to that effect. I believe that if you get the newest version it should fix your issues as the description on market says that it has fixed the issues saying that you have an outdated binary.
I have been using Infected Rom Eternity. My SU access was fine until I flashed the most recent update of their ROM. When I flashed it, my SU access broke. So when I looked into it, I saw that they had a superuser fix to downlad and flash. Once I flashed that fix, it worked again. Then about a day later I saw that there was a market update for superuser, which said that it corrected the problems people were having.
First, try to update SU. If not, look for the Superuser fix to download and flash over on the Infected Rom Eternity thread in development. good luck.
Mine force closes on every root
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I fixed my super user issues by going to manage apps, finding superuser, force stop, clear data, then uninstall updates. After I did that I've had 0 problems with su

I can also confirm (using the InfectedRom) That uninstalling updates resolves the issue.
Is there a widget, or a setting to turn off Automatic Application updating without affecting anything else ?
This would be quite beneficial.
That seemed to work......thank u. I am using the viper rom now do u guys kniw of any rom or where i could get a good wifi tether for 3/4g that is config for the evo 3d?
@Mike - Bear me to it. That's what
I did too and it worked perfect.

Odd, Force stop is grayed out for me, and just clearing data and/or uninstalling updates doesn't work. Knew I should have done a Nandroid more recently...

For some people just force closing and clearing the data works but for others it doesnt...you just need to flash the su you used when u rooted the phone and that is going to fix the issue...then if u want later on u can update to the new su...

I had to do the same thing. It wouldn't let me roll back the update via the market or through the settings menu. Without root, I couldn't run Titanium to restore the version I had backed up, so I had to reflash the rom.
If anyone has to reflash the rom, make sure you don't have "automatic updates" checked off when in the market under the superuser app, or it will happen again.
Uninstalling updates, then reflashing the original SU zip through recovery seems to have worked. I tried Kernel Manager, Quick Boot, Wifi Tether, etc...all were able to be granted SU access with no crashes. Not sure I'll ever update SU at this point if I don't run into problems.

For anyone having problems with superuser. Download this version and flash in recovery. Do not let it update or do not update it until all is well again. Just go into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik-cache and flash.
So I jumped on the cyanogen colored band wagon. Don't' get me wrong, this is the ROM I've been waiting for. Only now I am having issues. Google Play (formerly Marketplace) force closes every time i start it up.
I've done the required, check to see that English (united states) is set. Even did a wipe dalvik from CWM. so far Play has not responded to my advances. I was wanting to get it back up and running cause with out it, I don't' have Gmail, Google Maps, and a few other apps I use.
My atrix timeline:
Bought the phone with Froyo on it, and used this guide to unlock and root. Then I installed Alien ROM 4 to my device to get me to Gingerbread (2.3.4.) I stuck with that build till last night when I flashed CM7.2 RC1 to my phone.
Nothing strange happened while I did this. Followed the guides to the Tee.
What I think may have happened, when I used TiBu to restore my apps, it may have borked Play/Market.
Also, not sure why some of the gapps didn't' come along. I did flash them, right after CM7, then rebooted. I got a screen/list of apps, but not sure what I did to prevent some of them from NOT loading.
I've even tried to flash the gapps from CWM again, in hopes that would fix things... Nope.
The answer is probably, "Do a fresh install of CM7.2," but I want a second opinion before I do this.
Forgot to mention I removed tenfars cwm and used the one in the tuts by the CM wiki
I had the same issue with the play store. The way I fixed it was I first uninstalled the play store. Then I got a copy of the old market. I then renamed it vending and placed the apk in the following directory using root explorer (need to make sure the root explorer is set to Mount R/O):
system>app
After that I changed the permissions for the market apk. I made sure read, write, and execute were all cheeked under owner and clicked ok. I then exited root explorer and rebooted the phone. Once the phone booted back up I had the old market again. Then I went back to the system>app directory and changed the permissions back to the default (probably don't have to do this, but did it just in case). After that I opened the market and agreed to the terms. I then exited the market and waited a few minutes and went back it. I was then automatically pushed the play store and had no more FCs.
Attached is the original market.
Permissions should be set to RW/R/R and none set to executable.

Happened with me to..all i didwas uninstall updates through the app settings. I think it has something to do with corrupted cache data. Before i got it fixed I'd clear cache from there to and it'd work for a little bit.

I've not had time to get back to this yet but may work on it tonight. Firstly I don't have root explorer on my phone, nor the experience to mess with setting permissions. Will a reinstall possibly fix my issue?
Is there any other way of going about fixing the issue using TiBu? Maybe uninstalling play and rerunning gapps?
So, when I rooted I installed SuperSU and uninstalled Superuser.
Went through the steps to from the mod to get all apps into the multi view window. During the move odex services I got stuck in bootloop and had to re-odin the root image file.
Now that everything is set superuser is obviously the file back in charge of handling SU prompts from apps but for some reason it's not accepting/hearing them so anything I install that requires root is crashing.
Attempted clearing the SU data but it didn't help.
Is there anyway to fix this short of flashing back to stock then back to root?
Would mounting the system as writable, deleting SU and then re-flashing the root image fix the problem?
Basically I'm trying to avoid resetting my phone up to get this done.

I thought for sure that SuperSU is what was used in that file but I guess there must be a couple out there? The method I used never installed Superuser...?
EDIT: Nevermind I see that there are 2 different root methods and one uses SuperSU. Sorry

I used the file from imnuts, which used superuser and not supersu.
I went ahead and deleted superuser, xbin/su and am reflashing. hope this fixes the problem.
which worked until the phone randomly rebooted and got stuck in loop..
and it was either sdpeed increase or lbe privacy guard causing it.

Ive even removed superuser and installed supersu and doing the all apps mod was causing this issue.
I have a feeling it could be because I was renaming the services.odex file before replacing it.
Trying a direct overwrite was causing a non stop bootloop I couldn't get out of 4 seperate occassions.

after rooting I feel like the touch screen has lost some sensitivity. not sure if it's just me and the day or I'm just loco.
and what I mean specifically is when flipping through my home screens they like to snap back now and then.
I have already given root access to the app Clean Master. Under the 'Autostart Manager' page, I tried to remove apps that autostart by itself. However, the app pop out a message indicating 'Failed to Grant Root' and reminded me to grant root access.
I went back to the superuser app, it was indicated that root access has been granted.
Any way to solve this problem?
I have been having this same issue on rooted stock gs4. It's temperamental when it comes to root I've noticed. One day I was able to turn it app off of auto start and when I installed a new app it wouldn't let me do it and su says I'm granted
I'm experiencing the same issues. Auto Start Manager is the only feature that has this issue.

I always face this issue also, what I do as a temporary fix is, go to the SuperSU app, then "Forget" Clean Master, open Clean Master and try to disable an app from Auto starting, grant root and the app will be disabled I hope it works for you too
I am glad I am not the only one having this issue. I recently updated an app via the play store and clean master told me it was auto starting. I tried to block it, but it keeps telling me root access failed and to grant it. Well I've granted it root 18 times now and it still says root failed. I have tried everything to get it to work...clear logs, tell superSU to forget clean master, give it global default, etc. Nothing seems to work and it's pissing me off.
Unfortunately this does not work for me.
I have granted root access according to SuperSU Pro however when trying to stop autostarting apps in Clean Master it reminds me to allow access.
I even get a popup massage from SU stating that the app got granted root access.
Whats happening here? Does anyone have a work around?
Deleting Cleanmaster in SuperSU doesnt help. It is always the same unfortunately.
Best Regards
J
I too also have problems with the autostart function in Clean Master on my Optimus Zone II
First of all, if you've root then you shouldn't use clean master. That's so naive.
About the permissions. Even after root your system partition stays in read only mode. I'm guessing this okay. You should check that out first.

Ok, (I know Im gunna reget this), but why?, in your option, should Clean Master NOT be used, since it need so many "root" functions in order to work? Ive used it for years. Rooted or no, (mostly rooted), and why do all the "autostart" apks, (ROM Toolbox, Autostarts, Autostart Manager, etc) work just fine. I've tryied it with r-w on system on, sooooo....next...?

I can't argue over this. Best options for you 1. Root Cleaner (high priority) 2. SD Maid Pro (medium priority)
See the difference yourself.
fix?
Has anyone figured out what the issue is here? It worked just fine on cm12 but stock Lilli nope. Root issues for sure it must have something to do with system partition. Has anyone fixed this issue?
