hey geniuses
we all know that there are 2 versions of xperia x10. one is x10a and other is x10i. i used the x10i before. while using x10i i found that that phone is much faster and smooth. i am currently using x10a. but i got that x10a is very slow than x10i. and it is also not as smooth as x10i. i also noticed this in someone other;s phone also. his phone was also x10a that was slow too.
so i just wanna know is it because of the different versions or my current phone(xperia x10a) has any problem. is there any solution or way to make it as faster and smooth as xperia x10i...???
thank u

hardware wise x10a and x10i are the same. x10a originally for at&t may have bloatware which causes slowness. install another rom like gingerbread: fxp130-cm7.2 or ics: fxp137-cm9.1 located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410219
good luck!

Since you have an X10i you can only use X10i firmware, so you can eliminate Rogers (X10a) right away.
As for the differences between the different firmware versions, it's all, at this time, the same built so it's really up to you. The only difference will be added or removed apps/languages/etc. depending on the region.
Hence, I would also suggest the global generic firmware.
Thanks bingo for sharing ur opinion wz us
I used nordic and it was ok . But battery perf. Was really sucks
And then reflash wz flashtool and world generic and really enough good in battery :-S but facing problems wz wifi not working any more * connected , but market , browser gives network error
Plz if u have no problems in ur ones post me link to download it
Will it differ if world generic . Or global
Waiting for other opinons

Im running generic global. battery is okay i use it quite a lot and still have about half at end of the day.
Differences im not sure if there are any between them, perhaps the bloatware in the phone is different, not to sure
I would suggest going on generic global though since its a pretty much standard firmware no specific region unlike nordic
emmm
thanks for ur reply also
and yeb it's very good at battery and other options too
iam using that one right now

First buy, than search. Next time do it the other way around to avoid disappointments. Fortunately for us there are some good froyo roms available in the x10 rom section on this forum. That doesnt help a bit for the incalling volume though...

Does prop.build only modify antenna performance? I thought i read somewhere that prop.build held access to many hw issues.

Is there ANY hope for getting an x10a version of GB this week? I keep hearing we might have to wait till end of month, specially the global ones(4820).

Don't know about that, but you should try flashing it to Wolfbreak's GB ROM. It's just like the stock 2.3.3 but tweaked... I'm already running it and it looks nice, It's stable, and It's even faster and lighter than the stock rom
Well u can expect that update to arrive @ friday I guess...
X10a are the last on the list it seems so... only thing left is to wait @[email protected]

I currently have a x10i and have had it for years now its been flashed and rooted but sometimes the phone freezes during some games ie pool break pro which is a pain also the rom development has slowed down considerable so
I have been offered a swap for a x10 mini pro but would like some advice whether its worth it and how far the device is with development I'm looking to stay on cm based roms and any downfalls of the device?

The x10i is the 'big' experia X10. It has seen more development than it's smaller cousins (x10 mini and x10 mini pro), but i'm guessing any CM-based roms are roughly on par with what you have now. The hardware (processor, memory etc.) are roughly the same so you shouldn't expect miracles.
i know its pretty similar but the x10i ics roms has no video camera and has been the issue for nearly 6 months and that is why im kinda leaning away from the x10i are you able to tell me if the mini pro ics roms are the same and how does ics/jb roms run on mini pro

They're ok-ish, especially MiniCM10 (JB) by nobodyAtall (nAa) is pretty impressive, and he sort of managed to fix the camera and video. Not perfect, but usable at least. But if you have problems with laggy games, then ICS or JB wouldn't be the right choice anyway, because they're very memory-hungry. In that case you should stick to a GB rom, which has a lower memory footprint and uses up less cpu. GingerDX v 029 looks very ICS/JB like but is based on CM7-GB, and is very fast.
And besides that, the hardware keyboard will not work 'out of the box' on ICS or JB, there is a workaround, but you'll have to fix that yourself. There are instructions in the dev-threads on how to do that.
thank you for your reply does the mini pro use the flastool by bin4ry and androxyde the x10i uses to flash kernals and one more thing im currently on miui gb on my x10i and would like to stay on miui mainly due to the ease of customisation is there a fully working miui version available and if so what kernal and rom and any add ons would i need for everything to work

Flashtool: Yes
Miui: GB-version by Rempty seems to have reached 'just-about-perfect' status, you'll need nAa-13 or nAa-14 kernel for that. Dev-thread is here
There are (I believe) two ICS-versions too, but i think they still lack the camera-fixes and haven't been updated in a while.
Is it the Naa... for ics
Once again thanx for the advice
