this may be a strange question, but I'd like to know if this dialer could be repackaged to work for any other ROMs? I've flashed about every ROM that can be flashed and it seems that the dialer is always left stock. I like this dialer and would like to use it in my current ROM (ParanoidAndroid v 2.11). I have downloaded every dialer I can find and none suit me like the stock ICS note dialer does. thanks for any info

I like some of the Sense Themes listed in the Wiki but one question I have is can these be installed over the stock rooted Sprint ROM or do I have to flash a different ROM first? The reason I asked is some of them specifically say you cannot install over the stock ROM but others do not give any warning and simply say it is a Sense based theme.
Also I am not even sure this is worth mentioning but I will cover my bases. I assume with Themes I have to stick with the version of sense I am using as well right? Like I probably can't flash a Sense 1.0 theme onto the stock Sense 2.1 right?

Im trying to find a way to push the stock android dialer stock contacts, and stock calendar to my phone. Is the only way to do this to install a rom??
I dont mind waiting for cyanogen but honestly "for me" my phone without the bloatware seems as fast as I need it and I dont really need all of the extra options. But having the stock dialer, stock contacts, stock calendar would be really nice.
From what im finding so far is that the only way this will happen is with a whole rom flash.
I hate touchwiz, i find it so damn ugly, ics looks so much better to me but samsung never releases their propietary drivers and we're stuck with half working aosp roms, so the only solution i can come up with is use the stock samsung ics firmware but get rid of their apps ( gallery, dialer, samsung apps, email client, read hub... ) and then install on top the stock ics apps, is it possible or will i break something?

They are different frameworks but is it possible ?

In Android development under sgs2 there is a ROM which is based on stock but looks like aosp, try that or ask in that thread.
Try it, i have also changed the phone.apk and it works.

Just tried few AOKP ROMS.. like AOKP, Omega etc..
I liked the included messaging app the best, specially the option to disable sender name and/or the entire message content's to be hidden.. It really sort out one of my biggest problem in Android Stock ROMs.
Now is there any way if I flash my Stock ROM yet can use such kind of messaging apps or mms.apk from AOKP ROMs cause replacing my original mms.apk with AOKP mms.apk didn't help anyhow.
