How to re-unlock a relocked bootloader? - HTC Amaze 4G

Hi guys..just like what the title says...do I have to go thru the whole htcdev process? Because when I try to get the unlock token in cmd prompt it just says waiting for device and its just stuck there. Any ideas?

If u still have the file from the first time unlocked u can use that again if not then yes u have to go thru HTC dev again

Thanks bro. Had to do it all over again. Gave this amaze to my sis a while and now she wants it rooted. Anyways, already did the whole process and flashed speedrom 7.5 pretty good so far.

Restoring Back To New - How?

I'm looking at returning my phone to exchange it for a different one. I have already rooted and unlocked the phone. I saw mentioned that using the S-Off method, it was possible to put the phone back in a unmodded state. Is there any directions on how to do that? Did see anything looking through the forum.

Shouldn't this be in Q&A, not Development?

Guess that depends on how you see the categories defined. Since this is concerning low level work on the device and other topics about s-off are present in here, this appeared to be the place to ask, as it has been with other forums for the other devices I have used on here.

The Android development section is only for devs to post Roms and mods specific to their device, and for users to comment and thank those devs. Q&A is for all questions, whether or not they have to do with "low level work"

I would define this as a post that doesn't belong in Development. OP...please post in the correct sections. Questions are for the Q&A section.

Sorry no one answered your question and just posted about where you posted but here you go.
Download this filehttp://www.filefactory.com/f/b6eb73c80cc97030/ and make sure you have adb debugging on and start the file. I am not sure if it relocks the device bootloader though. Do not unplug it until it is done. Here is a decent looking video walk through of it. WATCH IT FIRST at least http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wYVB9mq8Ws
You have to relock the bootloader, then run the ruu. Did you unlock via HTCdev or LazyPanda? If you did it via HTCdev your bootloader will say RELOCKED but everything else will be stock....

I used HTCdev but if I relock and then use LazyPanda would that remove the RELOCKED when restoring?

I'm not sure but as of now the LazyPanda project has been suspended until they work out all the kinks. You could try when they get it back up and running but either way if your trying to get it back to stock to return it, relocking the bootloader and running the stock ruu should be enough.

I am trying to do the same thing (relock and go back to stock) so I can exchange the phone. I am on flex360's Stock plus Goodies v1.5 and when I relocked the bootloader, the phone got stuck on the bootloader screen (showed relocked) and wouldn't reboot. I had to unlock via adb to get the phone to reboot. Any idea why it got stuck on bootloader after the relock? Do you think I need to be on a stock rom to relock, and if so, how can I flash the stock rom? Like a bonehead, in my excitement to get a custom rom installed I forgot to create a backup.

Bootloader won't unlock

Is there anyway I can unlock my bootloader without htc dev unlocked.? I been trying to root my phone for the last couple days. but the htc dev unlocked doesn't work for me. I have follow the steps that they provide, and I have did everything again like five times, I have unistall everything and reinstall everything. still doesn't work I'm on cdma, windows 7. I Have everything install it on the rite place. I have installed the ruu, I ran the ruu again it saying complete at the end which it's good. but than when I open up the cmd and copy the code I paste it and click submit and it says failed! Error...... Is there anyway to do this without the htc dev unlocker or what I'm doing wrong? If you wanna help me please add me on gtalk : [email protected]
You could downgrade your hboot using the method in my signature. It does not require HTC to unlock first.

Run an RUU then try to unlock.
You can download the 2.17.651.5 RUU from Here
I would also think about downgrade as coal686 suggested below because you would also obtain S-OFF which is required by most rom.
..

Bootloader loked after successfully s-off

HELLO,
FIRST I UNLOCKED MY BOOTLOADER WITH THE T-MOBILE OPTION IN HTCDEV.COM.
I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY GOT S-OFF BUT AFTER GETTING S-OFF ,
I NOTICED THAT IN MY BOOTLOADER MENU SHOWING THAT MY BOOTLOADER IS LOKED NOW.
BUT I HAD UNLOCKED IT BEFORE PERFORMING S-OFF.
CAN ANY ONE TELL ME IS IT OK OR NOT ??
SHOULD I UNLOCK IT AGAIN BEFORE FLASHING ICS RUU ??

It's a part of the s-off process it's normal use hasoons aio kit and unlock it again with your previous unlock.bin file and yea your safe to run the ruu but you can't flash the recovery without unlocking the bootloader
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Thank you sir,
So I will unlock it again and then flash ics ruu ..
Sent from my Asian HTC AMAZE
You've come a long way, but s off is weird, it re locks it. So you'd have to unlock it again then flash the ics ruu or firmware IN BOOTLOADER NOT RECOVERY.

Re: Installing SU & Recovery w/o comp? Bootloader Unlocked

Re: Installing SU & Recovery w/o comp? Bootloader Unlocked
I'm using an AT&T HTC One & as in the title, I'm wondering if there it's a way to install SU & TWRP without a computer of any kind. I already have the bootloader unlocked but that's as far as I was able to get before I had to give up the computer. I'm still S-On as well so if anyone can tell me how to get my phone rooted with a recovery from my device, that'd be amazing! And if I could get S-Off as well, that'd he even better. Thanks so much for any advice.
