Photo compression - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Is there a way to control the extent of photo compression on the x10mp?.
The camera is 5MP, but photos are 300kb-700kb, so they're obviously compressed.
1. Is it possible to compress them further, for quicker and less costly transfers over 3G?.
2. Any recommended apps which can compress photos?.
TIA

1) NO! Only 5 MP
2) Try another android OS: like
Achotjan-Semc-Debrand-Engine-V3.0_Beta_004_E10i or
MiniCM10 or
MiniCM7-2.2.1
IF I HELPED YOU PLEASE PRESS THX BUTTON ON ME ! Good Luck! THX IN ADVANCE

I'm having trouble finding a decent image compression app too.

What about taking 2 or 3 mpx?

Most custom ROMs can set it to lower MP, or use a camera app like Vignette on 2.1

- Wide screen camera profile for 16/9e devices (480x854)
But I do not have the video in 16/9 (480x854). Is normal ??

Camera advance lets you use the volume keys to take a picture. There is a free and paid version. Paid version lets you take high resolution (full 5.0 megapixel) shots and the free is limited to I believe either 0.3 or 1.0 mp.

You can see his screenshots were taken on a Neo.
The answer is yes and no because yes it's fullscreen but since Win95/98 don't have widescreen resolutions whereas the Neo is a widescreen phone it's letterboxed exactly as you see in his pics which it doesn't completely fill the Neo's screen despite being fullscreen.

That would be a great idea. I prefer the stock rom camera app, we could also use flash when recording video and the stock panorama was great!

Yeah............. TIME TO MAKE A THREAD AND ASK!
Finally, i found and answer to that problem hehe, i was beginning to think it was only me with this camera zoom issue, and as cool as it is this camera app, it just doesn't work as expected, no zoom, no on/off button for taking pictures, etc. hehe, is there a way to take out the original camera apk from a stock rom and put it in cyanogenmod?
Thanks and for whoever did this unofficial rom, CONGRATULATIONS, it's great!!!

Lol.. I made a thread asking that. No its not possible. Then you'd have to edit the framework.apk or something and switch up a whole bunch of things in order to make the stock one work in CM7.

Android 4.2 Camera/Gallery for xperia MDPI ?

i've just installed the 4.2 camera on my smutron (st15i), edited the build.prop, the cam is working fine, but in the 'Photosphere’ camera mode to align the 2nd picture is take too slow (almost 1.2 minute), so it is useless
anyone idea ? thx
link : http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-4-2-camera-and-gallery-now-available/
I tried it on my ST15i, everything seems to work fine, no lag.
I downloaded ZIP file from the post you gave, i DIDN'T flashed it, i extracted it and put the files to the proper location, DIDN'T overwrite anything, and just set the correct permissions(RW-R--R--)
Hope it helps

It doesn't work because it's not the stock camera app.
Why would you want to zoom anyways? You can crop your picture once you take it.
EDIT: You can pinch-zoom!

So does that mean it can be made to work in CM9 or other stock sony based ICS ROMs? Or does this app require JB drivers?

Not really. It could work on CM9.
I was able to use the 4.2 camera with a normal preview function on my XMP with FXP-CM9.
As for Photosphere, however,it couldn't function well.I think that's because of its lack of Gyroscope.

is there any fix? i am using stable minicm7 2.2.1 (not nightly) with stock camera app and gallery app...
