Hello guys,
i have searched a lot in google.. in other forums and inside this one but i haven't found a lot, only people talking about task killers aren't very good idea on Android. .. and i've already knew this..
So i'll explain you what i'm talking about.
I don't want a task killer, i want an app to close processes like whatsapp, facebook and viber and preventing their respective startup.
For example i want to surf the web but i want to be offline in whatsapp and viber, but if i switch on mobile data these 2 apps automatically change my status to "online". I do not want that, i want the choiche to decide my status.
This is only an example but there are a lot of other background processes i'd like to stop to not result online for other people.

Hi everyone, I got a little question for you: I've noticed that everytime I activate data connections on the phone, all google apps and other internet related apps start automatically in background. is there a way to stop this behaviour?

You can install a task manager like advanced task killer, and add the services and apps that automatically start to the autokill list. That way, if any app shall start, the task killer shall automatically kill the app.
allready tried with this but still programs are autostarting...
When I open some Apps, 10 other Apps open along with it. Is rooting the phone the only way to have access to the means to stop this?
Thanks,
-Adam
Don't pay so much attention. In general, those applications don't use your cpu and battery. Android has its own task manager system.
Yeah dis is even happening to me,the reason is so simple like one app needs the other apps so they are even opening up.

what the appl you using which is opening others appl can u name the apps
if you kill apps, they will probably get restarted automatically and left in the background. If the apps are working correctly, this is not a problem, as a well coded app does not use CPU/battery when in the background.
Actually, I just quit using a task manager to kill tasks (I just let Android kill them as necessary) and I have no problems (phone is not slower, power drain is not higher).
Maybe the thing is that after you stop a task in a task manager it does not update immediately and you don't see the task being restarted, and when you go into the task manager after running some app just then you see the apps restarted.
Also, some apps are very generic (maps) and used by other apps, and some apps need to be running all the time (latitude, mail client, widgets, etc.) and killing them would make them not work properly (widgets no longer updating, not getting new emails, etc.).
My advice is to leave the apps running if you are not very sure of what you are doing, because the OS will eventually kill unnecessary apps, and until then they should not use any CPU or battery.
Only thing is to stay away from badly written apps, the ones that use too much CPU even when in the background or when phone is sleeping. You should probably wait for a night after installing a new app to see if you have higher drain. If so, just uninstall and search for an alternative.

Seems like many applications spring back up after "killing" them though the Android task manager or any of the task managers available in market. Is annoying the hell out of me. If im not using the app I dont want it to.run in the background..
I understand that messaging applications need to run in background but not all.
How do you guys make sure
that any application which you close "remains" closed until the next time you open it?
Thank me if I helped you..

You might try Gemini app manager to disable auto start apps

Easy Task Killer can help too..
use Easy Battery Saver too along with it!
Thanks.for your replies guys. However.i believe the main question here is,.how.to.stop these background app processes from running until the next time I start them manually.
Problem with task managers is that they stop these apps after a certain interval. Once they do, the.apps restart after 2-5 seconds. And.remain there till the next interval of the task killer is reached. This in turn take up more memory a compared to keep the running.. In addition, these apps run in the background on their own taking up a junk of memory/processor space..
Thanks again for your replies. Please correct me.if my understanding is wrong and you are feel otherwise.
Thank me if I helped you..

Those "apps" that you say keep opening are actually the processes running in the background. I know of many apps that keep re-enabling their processes after killing them. (IE: Facebook, some Google stuff, and a couple games that run in real-time)
Best solution: try to go into the app's settings and see if there is an option to disable anything that would require a background service to run, IE: sync, updates... If not, then just stop killing that app. Ignore it in the list or set a task killer to ignore it. If the app keeps re-opening, you killing it all the time is only doing bad because it puts more stress on the operating system because it has to take the time to reinitialize the app/service. If you are really that anal about background running apps, set android to limit a lower amount of background apps to run.
Like asdot suggested above use Gemini App Manager to disable the apps autostart permissions. If an app is set to automatically start after a certain intent is broadcast by the system (ie, at boot, or at a change in connectivity, etc.) you can use Gemini to stop that app from automatically starting. You can stop an app from automatically running in the first place instead if trying to kill it after it has started.
I am using Skype often. And I want it to be always on in the background as it makes it easier for my family abroad to communicate with me. However either android itself or my wife keeps shutting it down (don't blame her she is not very experienced user).
Is there any app or simple way to keep Skype on all the time, that even if it is shut down manually by user or task manager or android itself I want it to keep restarting itself.
I used search but I found only thousands of topics were people trying to prevent apps from running all the time in background, I want this one to do that! I will be grateful for any help. I want it to keep running on HTC Flyer.
Anyone?

If an app has an icon in the notification bar (which skype does), android process manager wouldn't kill it. That's why apps like tasker and 3G watchdog has an icon in the notification bar. Therefore, your wife must be using some sort of task manager to kill background processes. The solution will depend on the task manager she is using. Some task killers allow you to "white list" certain apps.
Apps can shut down even if they put icons in the notification bar, if you are annoyed by this problem you know that.
What we need are an app that can monitor and restart selected apps if they aren't running.

There is task killer included in stock ROM but whether she is killing it or whether it's system I still need something (method or app) to restart it immediately after that happens.

This is what I want to do too, I want to keep skype on all the time, but I noticed that randomly it would be killed!!!
Are you rooted? Try uninstalling all task managers and using ES task manager with white list, and perhaps run the V6 Supercharger memory script to manage memory better, he also has a section on getting apps to run at -16 system level permissions (never be killed by system)

auto memory manager has an option to keep apps alive, but it needs root too.
+1 for auto memory manager I ise it too since my rom had this nasty habit to kill music while it was playing. So I use this little app and it works great.I even go more ram by tweaking the settings

I read your first post again - it must be android killing your skype. Cause to close skype u need to logout and i think that its hard too logout accidenatlly (its not only pushing "back" button.
And i dont think that there is an app which can restart manually closed app (maybe script and an auto script launcher??)

I tried Auto Memory.
It does give you the possibility to keep alive any process (and app), but the effect disappears eventually, like minutes after.
Keeping alive Auto Memory as well doesn't help :/
Did you apply keep alive in app process list?

I am using Lenovo VIBE k5 anf i am unable to receive notifications from hike until I open the app and keep iy in background
I got my Xperia P more than a month ago and never had this problem. Now even if i kill all processes using the official or a third-party app, a few minutes later a number of apps are running again in the background and killing my battery.
What can i do?
You can download Autorun Manager in PlayStore.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus S mit Tapatalk 2
uninstall all apps you don't need
check settings of those you need - you may find different background sync options, instant notifications, alarms, etc - turn them off
Usually developers provide some way to stop unwanted background tasks, but not always unfortunately
Autorun managers sometimes help but not really always. There are many ways to start background process for an app. Autorun manager can't cover all.
