Galaxy SIII home button..quite similar to iPhone button, no? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I love my gs3 but I also love the double tap feature on the iPhone which enables the music shortcut or widget to any music that's playing, Pandora, spotify, your own music on memory etc. Would it be impossible to "hack" the gs3 home button to do something similar to that? Please? I personally don't know anything about development, but would generously donate to any developer interested in this. Again, don't even know if it's possible and if this is even the right place for this. Just trying to get some feedback on the subject.
Cheers.

[Q] Better Music Application

Hi,
I was wondering if there were a better music player for my SGS2 as the stock one is really awful with tags. But I would really like to keep using it, because it displays controls in a notification and on the lock screen, so I'm a bit confused...
Is there any app that displays controls the same way? Or is there any mod of the stock app that better handle tags?
Thanks, and sorry for my poor English
PowerAmp allows editing of tags and has a lockscreen widget. Give it a try!
I know that one and have already purchased it, but I find the stock unlocker pretty good even if it has its own defaults, so I'd like not to change it if it's possible accordingly to what I want :/
Another solution would be to find a software or application that uses the same tags as the stock music player so it wouldn't be messy anymore

Try the Google Music apk that's in the forum.

Visualizer music android app? (PSP style)

Wouldn't it be very cool to have a music player application with a visualizer? Before my current android phone I had most of music on my PSP and the one thing I missed the most was the visualizations it did of the music. Does anyone know of an android application that does something similar? I know my friends GSII comes built in with a visualizer but its very basic.
I have included a video to demonstrate the visualizer on the PSP and I spent sometime on my 2 favorite effects.
It would be really cool if there was a similar program or if a developer would put this in their apps. Most of the music apps that I have tried don't have anything like this at all.
Just in case the link doesn't work go here
In the video I run through all 7 visual effects and then I go over my 2 favorites. I personally like the 2nd (0:42 seconds in and again at 3:33) and 4th (1:13 seconds in and again at 4:50) effect. And near the end I leave it on the last effect because that one takes a while to fully show what it does. I personally want something like the 2nd effect. If I can find an app that does just that then I would be happy.
Seems nice for the player I am making
On aokp, I use the spectrum wallpaper. It looks like a great Visualizer

For an actual app, look up projectm on the play store

You can install the Sony walkman app with visualizer add on. I am loving it. It has about ten themes for the visualizer. It was pulled from on of the new Sony phones. Think it'll satisfy your needs.

I took a look at the app and it isn't exactly what I wanted. I mean its so rough and ugly looking. Not trying to sound harsh or anything.

Playing music during a call?

Hi all,
I am looking for a way by which I can play music during a call so that caller and callee both can hear.
I tried googling but could not find any good working options. People did speak about couple of apps but all of them seem to be very buggy based on the reviews. Is there a good way out there? Has anyone successfully implemented this on a S2? If yes, please help me with the suggestions.
Thanks.

More than 100 views and not even single suggestion.. Just following up in case it missed the attention of users who may have something to share on this topic. Fingers crossed!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
it is not possible dude ...
Wow I suppose its vital aint it.Why would anyone want music playing whilst on a call?
And people will only reply on here if they know or find the topic worthwhile.
So it looks like Justin Bieber will have to wait some more.
If you are speaking in headphone its possible install anyother music player like ttpod. Google ttpod english apk

Android General Question

Hi, I'd like if someone can explain to me why android apps never open Web links within the app instead of always redirecting you to the browser like iOS and I never noticed this before but I'm currently using an iPhone along side my Galaxy S3 since I'm in the Caribbean and I just think the iOS way makes more sense especially for apps like cracked and Facebook.... Thoughts?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Because the android apps in question do not have a web browser within them, at least not in the sense of a traditional browser. I can't attest to how iOS works as I have too many qualms with apple to use their products, but I would assume many of their apps also launch a browser for web content, and if they don't its due to integration of a browser within the app.

Hey sorry I'm just noticing the reply and all I'm looking for is a discussion of some sort but a bit of an update I just used the CNN app on my Galaxy and it as in opened links pertaining to the app within itself such as unlocking the live TV and I just think more android apps should do it and also you might be familiar with flip board and how not handles links that's what I mean

[Q] New to Themer and I have a few questions

All,
I recently downloaded Themer and love a lot about it. It's quick, and very nice looking.I realize it's still in beta and I can appreciate how stable it is for being a beta program.
My questions concern more the area of customization rather then functionality.
1: Is there any way of adding my own Smart categories? I'd love to be able to reorganize some apps into a slightly different hierarchy/grouping.
2: Is there anyway to get the launcher to recognize the Music player on the Galaxy S4? it refuses to use it on any of the home screens/themes I've tried even though I've got it set in the app preferences.
I'm coming from using a bunch of other launchers that are good, but not quite what I've been looking for.
Thanks in advance.
1. The function is probably going to get added

on the S4 m8 just select widgets from themer menu then select the music player widget
Alldroid, these themes already have a music player widget as part of them. Replacing it with the stock music player widget would ruin the theme. For now I have it pointing to Play music player, but I would like to have the Samsung music player be the default app for playing music.

Hi,
1. We are planning on doing this in the future.
2. The manufacturer music players are incredibly hard to incorporate, but it will also be added in the future.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

You can log in using your Google account. You needed a Google account to log into the Google Play Store and download Themer, therefore you can use that same account
