Hi.
I have few questions.
I'm from Myanmar.
Our local language can be seen correctly in friendcaster and firefox.
But it is not work on facebook and other browser. Some overlapping.
That problem started when I upgraded from ginger to ICS.
is there a way to show the fonts correctly in facebook as in friendcaster.

It's a known bug in the official Facebook app.
As Omaxe said, you have to stick with other Facebook app as we all know that the official Facebook app for Android sucks!

As said by Jokesy facebook app sucks for andoid and also consumes a lot of battery so betta use friendcaster
I have the same issue for my local Indian language. I started using FB Light app. It's very nice. Try it out. Faster than the official app, but has adson free version

friendcaster or even friendme is pretty good
i hate Frienme since 2 last update... always say FC when i want to see de new's =/
and de Facebook apps frozzen always in charging...
use the mobile web version.

After the update, you need to log out and then log back in for changes to take full effect. I prefer to uninstall completely then install the updated version, it avoids the bugs.
Once you've done that, it will no longer ping GPS when viewing the news feed

Use friendcaster, a friend of mine has it and no complains, i personally use the mobile site, and have an app to upload pics and vids to fb, and fb notifies me via gmail, works best for me no issues

new fb app better than friendcaster ****... 1.7.1 out .. u can tag friends and do a lot more stuff with this new version
A lot of Android apps love to keep tabs on you and are constantly gathering location, personal, or contact data info. That's why I use LBE Privacy guard app, it allows you to deny permissions that go along with downloaded apps

They are trying to make it closer to the iOS version (pull to refresh...etc). And the iOS Facebook app pings the GPS every time it refreshes the news feed. Not totally sure why.

Everytime I post now it says where I'm near too. Except I'm never anywhere near where it thinks I am.

Yeah, I forgot, location based updates are something Facebook is doing now. Weird that it's wrong for you though. I never update my status enough to notice.

I am about to give up on the entire Facebook bullcrap but I need an app for Facebook. Friendcaster closes every time I log in and seesmic just doesn't work to well... so what else is there? Just let me know what you guys are using

Yeah, I don't use Facebook but my wife does. She has tried all the alternatives and prefers this one
I use friendcaster as well. I'm rooted and use adaway to removed the ads. I completely removed the standard Facebook crapware. Doing that alone incredibly sped up my device.

+1 for friendcaster as well. unlike some official Fbook app versions, friendcaster runs better with correct task handling. no more consistent battery drain due to Fbook always running plus you have better sync frequency settings vs official app
Friendcaster and alphascope can easily be used. Alphascope requires request since it is in beta.
friendcaster is only for facebook.
Is there any app for facebook as well as tweeter (conbined) as is there in HTC-friendstream?

Tweetdeck, I think, has both facebook and twitter.

I'm having problems with Skype and Facebook I write now what is the problems.
Skype closes automaticly, I've cancel the cache and stopped and done all the installation again but nothing changes.
Facebook I cannot upload photos from the Galery.
I have:

First, don't double post.
Second, update the two apps to their latest version.
Third, if you still can't upload to Facebook from your gallery, even after the update, download quick pic from Google playstore Anna try again.

Go to recovery and do the following:
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- fix permissions.

i just bought a S3 from UK (BTU) yesterday, and today in the morning i updated it via Kies to 4.1.1 DLJ4, everything seems fine exept facebook, coz in wifi it works perfect, but on Data Plan, it changes its UI completely, shows as a slower version of facebook, and shows like it cant load fine the pages of facebook apps, anyone have the same problem? is it a app bug i dont know about? is it about facebook dont support full jelly bean yet? (i dont want to know its a phone bug coz i just bought it yesterday) anyone have the same problem? help :C
Never seen that before. Try clearing app data if that doesn't work uninstall Facebook and re install.

Yeah. That's why Mark Zuckerberg has supposedly forced his engineers to start using Android phone and ditch iPhones. Just so they can see for themselves the failure Facebook is on Android.
I really love the chat heads idea, however I don't like using Facebook messenger to text, I love the stock android SMS client, is there anyone who could make a chathead - like app that would work with stock SMS?

nd tick sms integeration....

i think its best method if u have fb id

I wouldn't mind using the messenger app if it wasn't themed like Facebook. I don't use Facebook messenger, so I just enabled sms/MMS and it's just like using a regular messaging app. Just ugly

Search chat heads on google play. You will have an application ready for you. But the only problem is that, right now, the developer hasn't yet made it to move freely on the screen

Well, I've figured out something I didn't know, which bothered me, I thought it stored my SMS to facebooks servers, though it seems it doesn't. When a conversation is deleted from the stock SMS app, if you check the Facebook messenger, its no longer there. And if I checked on my tablet its not there, so it seems just like its an overlay of sorts just pulling the information from the stock app, which I'm okay with. Just didn't want it to be stored to Facebook's stuff

on my note 2 ninja sms is working fine...but facebook chat heads are smoother and more responsible...so i use them.

Facebook Messenger only has sms integration for certain devices. Maybe yours isn't supported?

Ok, so tried chat heads app, Facebook chat heads, ninja sms, notify me, notifypro plus, wp8 notification banner app, light flow ....
All of these apps have since sort of a popup or banner, but the best seems to be light flow which can be customized for each app, each contact separately. If you really want the text icon on home, and simple pop ups don't do it for you, then fb implementation is by far the best one, albeit no contact wise notifications or customization.

This may seem obvious, but you need to go to the settings and select the contacts you want (or all contacts)
