Unfortunitly, the process com.android.phone has stopped - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, many times I have encountered this issue while in incoming call the phone is ringing, and the phone unexpectedly stopping. I even can't see the miss call or who was calling.
Attached a screen shot.

I cant see any screen shot, are you running a custom ROM?
i would boot into recovery and fix permissions a lot of the time this will fix things like this, if this doesn't work do a factory reset / full wipe and start all over again.

If all else fails full wipe reflash Rom
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

I had this with Dragon JB rom.
I had to reflash and NOT use the ICS dialer and use the stock selection in Aroma Installer.

Did u install ice blue theme? Make sure you install latest ics blue theme as I remember this was issue( for JB roms greater than LI2) with version 3 and 4. In 4.1 its corrected.

Find the offending app and clear data. Most likely the phone app. Might help. If not a full wipe is recommended.

I had the same issue. Ended up discovering it was an issue caused by Facebook contact sync. I removed this sync and the problem was resolved. I now use HaxSync to sync contact photos from Facebook.

Facebook contact sync was the offending app for me too. Try un installing it if you have it installed! Hope this helps

I'm not sure what you mean? 10.14 is fully functional for me.
Well i talk and text mostly. not really big on having a lot of apps, so when i get a call i dont like it lagging or glitching up, like having to press the power button to view the call.
When I get a call my screen comes on and shows who is calling and shows a slide to answer lock screen?
I just installed the latest port by Enyo ( thanks Enyo!), three one in Rom manager with the mms fix... still unable to download mms. I am also running the glitch v12 kernel.
I assume I am doing something wrong. Any answers out there?

MMS has worked for me even in the original on both my phone and the wife's. I'm using the included kernel (JTs kernel).
Did you wipe data before you flashed.
Ok well what are the steps to fully download this
And the steps from start to end. I love miui set up and would like to keep with it but I did the ed01 debloated. Just a simple run through

What ROM are you on currently? ED01?
So essentially stock>?
-Backup your data, sync your contacts.
-Flash CWM fixed for CM7
-Three-Finger into Recovery
-Wipe data, cache, dalvik
-Flash Miui 1014
-Enjoy?
I was able to make mms work by turning on compatibilty mode.

Rick S has a thread in the development forum that has a fixed MMS.apk. Just download the lastest 10.14 and then extract it. Replace the MMS.apk with the one Rick S made and then rezip. From there just install as usual. No problems and I can send both photos and videos. Gotta love it.

Facebook app bugg for ICS

So is any one using the ICS ROMs having issues with facebook? I am having this weird issue every time I try and post a status I get a FC. It happens to me on every ICS ROM (I also do 5x wipe every time I install the ROMS)
clear the app's cache and data. can also do the same with a reinstall. last resort would be to ditch the official app for something else
Works fine for me on CleanRom 4.1.

I switch roms frequently while also doing a a full wipe so I have to reinstall FB, and I still have the same FC
FB works fine for me.

Working on CleanROM 3.7, too.
Log into Facebook on your computer. Click in the update your status area. The button next to Post where you select who your are sending your list too. Select anything besides custom. I had a custom list with 2 groups in it and Facbook would force close everytime. Try changing it to friends. Enjoy!

Agreed kryptik06:
I was trying to use Facebook more like Google+ with Customs lists. Looks like Facebook doesn't like that. Glad it fixed your issue. Took me awhile to find that answer too.
What was weird in my case is the issue kept following me to different phones. Then I logged in as my wife and had no issues. That told me it was a facebook setting. So I changed that and bam!
Good times!

Freezes after every Google Play update notification

Since upgrading to Jellybean Optus edition my phone freezes every time there's pending updates in Google Play. I dont actually get to know about the notification until I reboot. Then it comes through. Turning off auto update doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't know what to check if there is some conflict with an app that Ive installed that could be causing the lockup.
Regards
Pete

I tried that and it didn't fix the problem. I am suspecting that Instagram may be causing the problem as it this has been running in the background each time the freeze occurs.

App collision by instagram? if you really think that is the reason send a bug report to instagram dev's.
Try uninstalling instagram and check whether the problem occurs again though.

Any clue on whats causing these system errors

Everytime I use Facebook messenger ill receive these errors one right after the other. They appear after I send a message or shutdown the app. I uninstalled and re-installed and the same thing keeps happening. Thanks in advance.

Wipe and flash the rom again also what launcher are you using ?
No rom, just stock rooted. Using GO launcher. However I've been using GO launcher for a loong time now including having both apps of which neither has had a recent update

I have problems with messenger when I have the chat heads active. I will receive the system ui crash lots of times and then when I disable it I never see the error again. Might be worth a try?
I've had the chat heads disabled since they first came out, not a fan.
Well I narrowed it down at least. It was my launcher (GO Launcher) I set sense as my default and used FB messenger and didn't receive the messages. No to figure out why. I'm gonna contact GO as they have EXCELLENT customer service, partly the reason I use their products.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Huh that's strange that you all of a sudden started getting errors with that launcher even though you've used it for a long time. Glad that you were able to get it narrowed down though and hopefully they will have an idea of what's wrong and how to fix it
