Hey can I PM u and ask u something about rooting and all I want to do cuz I'm new to the Amaze 4G but not HTC, I've looked through and read all the threads on this but I want to be 100% sure cuz this is my daily driver if u don't have time that's cool?

Sorry, but No. There are too many threads regarding How To Root. You can find everything you need to by a sticky found in the Development section. Or just use Hasoons All In One Tool Kit.
Lol you probably get a lot of those like I do double0.

If you're a noob I don't deserve my RC status, which you obviously deserve but you're too modest to accept my proposal to recommend you, .
For me, I hold the power and lower volume, it works a lot more consistently than power and home.

One of about three ways I know how to, .
I hold Power button + Volume Down + Home button. I do this so I can take a screenshot while I make a screenshot.
Jokes aside, you have 3 different methods. Power Button + Home button works on most Sense ROMs. Power Button + Volume Down should work for ALL ICS ROMs. There's an another method, but it works on very few ROMs. You can hold power button until a dialog comes up, and there will be an option for you to take a screenshot. However, not all ROMs have this feature.
Boom. Three ways you can take a screenshot on this device.

Hi guys how u doing i habe the evo 3d so any tip yall want to share with me? Jow.to save battery .. is there a easy way to root? Lol any tip yall want to share with me i will.be thankful
Temp root, check the dev section. Its an easy one click method. As far as battery, I always have the mobile data turned off when im not using the phone.
Also check out screen filter in the app market to turn of the led capasitive lights.
Tip one read the rules in the forums.
Tip two read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695878
Tip three juice defender beta helps a lot with battery imo also go into settings and change screen brightness to automatic its not by default.
As for root. I wouldn't yet. The root access we have is temporary and unstable and not really that helpful without s-off. You can't flash a custom recovery or Rom yet. As far as I know WiFi teathering isn't working yet either.

lol should I go back and check your post history so we can tell you to read the rules?
Well battery life is actually very good out the box. Only tips I can say is cutting off the radios that you aren't gonna be using (i.e. WiFi, GPS, 4G). Oh & I don't know if keeping the 3D switched on actually drains the battery any faster even if your not watching anything in 3D but I would switch it to 2D anyway just to be on the safe side. As of right now there is no permanent root. Just a semi one that let's some programs that require root to run but you have to re-apply it after every reboot. Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159354
Flashing ROMS/Themes is impossible right now until they figure out full root & S-Off. They have been able to overclock the phone up to 1.8 Ghz last time I checked but don't know how that effects battery life. Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158951
That's about all the tips that I can suggest as I don't have the phone anymore but hasn't been any progress since my returning it.

One more thought. If you are trying to get into the bootloader by power + vol down make sure to turn off fast boot in settings >power>unchecked fast boot first or it won't work.

You don't have to disable fast boot to get into the bootloader. Just power off the phone and then pull the battery. Then vol down + power will get you there just the same. I for one love the fast boot.
I was looking in my gallery when I saw a screenshot of my phone's home screen. My 3vo isn't rooted or unlocked and I have never had a screenshot app installed. Does anyone have any insight as to how this might have happened? I'd like to create it but have no idea how.

power home is pretty universal; kinda surprised peeps dont know this
Is there some kind of trick to taking a screenshot or setting I have to enable/disable to get it to work?
I've updated my EVO 3D to the latest version and can't get it to take a screen shot. Not rooted.
I've tried over and over and it won't work. I've tried every combination of pushing the power button and hitting the home button (holding the power button down, tapping it quickly, hitting them at the same time, etc..).
Also, I've read that there's a confirmation displayed once a screenshot has been taken, is that correct?

Strange, I updated my phone when 2.3.4 was released. But maybe it just gave me the first update since my phone is new.
But now when I search for an update it says there isn't one available. I guess i'll have to wait for the official release push.
Yeah doesn't even the stupid iPhone use Pwr+Home for SSing?
Well for those who didn't know, we thank you for the information. For those who chose to be assholes about it... Thank you as well.

sort of semi hold down the power button, dont push the power button all the way then press home. thats how i get it to work for me.
I've tried every combination of holding the power button and home button possible and....nothing. Is my Rezound just not working right? I've hunted through all the settings and haven't found anything. I'm stock and not rooted.

tried rebooting? holding pwr and pressing home should work. factory reset may help if nothing else does. I never lost SS capability until I started deleting stuff in titanium, but you are stock so that isn't an issue.
***press and hold the power button down, and within 2 seconds while holding the power button down, press the home button.***
It is a pain it took me forever when I was stock it has to be perfect timing. Just keep trying you will Get it.

You are right... just tried it. Worked. Been using screenshot rooted since I came over from the Dinc.
Any guesses on the timing? 2 sec? Either button a millisecond before the other? Do you hear the shutter sound then let go? I mainly get recent apps pop up then the power off one. I know this is a little nitpicky but isn't that why we're here? To obsess over inanimate objects without being judged by others? thanks guys, I won't give up!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
Make sure you push power first before you push the home button. It's literally like a millisecond before, but it is power first. Try that and see if it works. Also, did you freeze anything? I know you say you're not rooted, but were you temp rooted and froze something?
It worked! I can't believe it! That was the trick..power button right before the home button. Thank you so much! And no, no temp root or anything (a moot point now). I'm waiting for the ever elusive ics ota before I root (no, I'm not trying to start a discussion about that!) thank you again.

Lol, glad it worked I was one of the lucky ones who found that accidentally so I knew what to do from that point forward. And I was just asking about being rooted and such in case you froze the sribble app that makes that work. But yeah, it's your phone, mate, you root it when you want to
yep, hitting power right before the home button works everytime! thanks! also not rooted here..and new to the rezound. coming from an X the whole unlock/root process is actually intimidating me right now. ive been romming for years now and i'm scared with the rezound. ha.
So I searched the forum and haven't, yet, run across any topics revealing my question, so here it is. With all this modding going on, is there any way or possibility to be able to make the thunderbolt have a native screenshot with hardware keys? Such as, pressing "search" and "power" at the same time and holding to take a screenshot?

Most newer ROMs have it. Press and hold Power, then press Home.
Can it be incorporated to a stock rooted Rom?
