Hi all
I have the SXU from polish Orange. I know that at this time there's no way to unlock bootloader in it so I can't install cutom ROMs on my device. Is there a way to do something (whatever) with it? I bought skin case just to seal this ugly orange logo on back. I unlolock it by code because I don't use Orange's sim card. Can I debrand software on it? I've read that I can do this just like in SXS but I cannot find debranded ROM (without modifications, just from device in free sale to receive ICS update faster).
Can I do something more on it? And does anyone has a ROM from device bought f.a. in Media Markt or directly from Sony?

just find a generic firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809047 and flash it with flash tool you need to turn phone off, press and hold volume down button and then insert usb cable to get into flash mode and the bottom bar will be green.
Please do not post Q&A in the development section.

Hi, i don't know if this is the correct place to ask, but i have this user who claimed to (might be the first in the world as i speak) have enabled X10 multitouch without rooting his device.
As i try to reason with him that he is wrong and might be getting the wrong information, he speaks even bolder and louder (even to a point of doubting the wonderful guys here at XDA of their hardwork?)
He was trying to sell his used X10 on a local forum.
The link is here:
forum.lowyat.net/topic/1731902
Below are quoted from him
Most important things that i never HACK or ROOT my X10i for this multitouch input ( Believe me i have my own legal way that not break the law )

Sure it dont make sense for you because you think only XDA Developers can do it only not even Sony Ericsson Company can do it with out rooting and flashing the phone but do you use your big brains to think Sony Ericsson Updates over their own Firmwares and Please Open Your Big 2 Balls of eyes Japan Have its own multitouch update by Sony Ericsson so is that proving it root or flashing the phone ?
So think before you say anything in Lowyat Forum Sony Ericsson have its own people to make those updates , XDA Developers is based in roothing and flashing phone and i have my own way to do it. Anything possible to happen in this earth only you are the one who dont understand and keep saying XDA Developers can do it with rooting and flashing the phone.
My last word is if you so believe on XDA Developers why don`t you do their follower dont believe in other people only believe in XDA Developers. Example there was a people coming to tell you there is a fire on top of your hse and you dont believe and sitting there stupidly waiting for those so called XDA Developers come to save your life.

So can anyone confirm what he said is true/false?
because i also own a X10 and i have yet to root mine to get multitouch.
Thanks for reading.
you gave him a good answer hahaha house on fire haha... on my side.. I BELIVE IN XDA and i appriciate all the peoples hard work for all the rooting and other things..
that boy is just trying to sell his phone for i good price.. maybe it is true but i dont belive it until i see it.. i think he is just kidding whit people on that forum.. i would always first follow the guides on xda to root and dual touch reather then ask him for his method haha LOL root your phone and have fun

Hi,
Didn`t had the patience to read all your post but this is THE FACT
You CAN flash Dualtouch without root.
Q: Can i gent DT work?
A: Yes
Q: Does it work on every apps?
A: No. For that you must be rooted.
Using THIS tool and follow THIS guide.
Now some info.
When you use the flashtool you`re using the same file format that SE uses (dispite it has been renamed to *.ftf files to work with this tool) so, after flash you won`t get rooted.
When you flash the dualtouch.ftf file you are in fact flashing your kernel without affcting anything else ´cause this kernel file was "taken" from an original SE release in Japan.
So you can say to your "friend" that he`s right and you are wrong and if you had any dough try it.
You only have root acces IF and ONLY IF your press "Root" button on that tool.
Hi guys sorry.if it is already posted.. I can't seem to find it..
(1) I am looking for an application, similar to camcard....

1) I know what you're talking about, don't use many OCR apps on my phone, but by commenting, it will bump this thread back to the top for people to comment.
2) No, by flashing your phone to another STOCK firmware, it would not be recorded down, BUT if you flash a custom kernel THROUGH ODIN into it, it will. But easy, just buy a USB jig and you can easily reset the counter.

If it has HiMarket it is not a real Galaxy S III.
It is a cheap chinese clone of the Galaxy S III and no matter what you do it will NEVER be a Galaxy S III.
Close topic, because this phone doesn't even belong to the S III section because it isn't one.
But my friend cant use this phone in this state so i have to do it...
Could you please help me how can i make it root and which (turkish supported) rom u advice to me?
Or can i install another stock rom on this phone after root?

Okay do one thing before going into flashing custom ROMs...
type *#1234# in the dialer and post the output..
Also, install the google play app from here and see if it works..if your phone is not GS3 then flashing/modding using any tool from this subforum will most probable brick your device...so tread with caution...
Make sure you have the original GT-I9300 before you do anything..

Hey guys,
I've bought a SE Xperia Mini Pro a week ago, and I've been thinking on installing a Custom ROM. Is it worth it? I mean, I'll lose the device's warranty... Can you guys give me a complete guide to do this? I want to install CM10, I think it's the best...
After installing the Custom ROM, is there a way to "recover" the warranty? If I need to repair something on the phone, can I put the Xperia on it's original state? Stock ROM, without ClockworkMod Recovery...
Help me please, I've already install some CRoms in Samsung, HTC and LG, but I've never did something like this on a SE.
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english.

Installing custom rom usually will need a custom kernel, installing custom kernel need an unlocked bootloader, and when you unlock your bootloader, your DRM keys and the warranty will gone, and there are no ways to recover back since you list DRM keys and modified the phone (which have been stated that modifying the device will void the warranty)
Well,it should be no problem for you since you have done something like that before...but,you should responsible yourself if your device broke when in the process of unlock bootloader, installing custom kernel/rom..just remember : If your device are in bootloop/won't start, try to give it a try by flashing stock ftf file using Flash Tool
EDIT : I'm a former member of this community, don't worry

Warranty isn't lost if you use custom roms which can run on stock kernel thus locked bootloader(there are several with this feat, cm10 is not one of them unfortunately)
If it's worth it it's up to you, what you're looking for from your phone and what roms have to offer.
There are several ways of unlocking bootloader and some keep drm keys thus not loosing warranty, do some reading in the faq at the beginning of this thread, ome searching around and then make your choices.
Please read the stickies for help, in my signature there's a how to install custom roms, too

If you are talking about this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921766 rom then it's already out for lww, all you need to do is add dev files for your device. If you don't know what those are open any rom with aroma (or just the patches for other devices from roms like pacman) and copy those files taken from source for your device to installation zip.

To be precise, There isn't a "proper way" to port Roms. One method might work and one might not. You have to create your own ways of porting for each kind of Rom by taking the other guides as just a reference. You should be able to interpret logcats and understand the errors while testing a ported Rom. You need to research a lot!!! As the comment above me said porting is not easy! Read read read research research research debug debug debug and at last you may see the wonderful moment of your ported Ron's boot animation! (after that you might still have errors though)

Hi,
I have received a SIM locked SGS3 and the Firm is using is 4.1.2
It seems after reading a little that it is possible to unlock it on this firm, but i couldnt find the answer to these questions:
1 - Will the unlock be forever or do I need to SIM unlock every time I put a new firm on it?
I was thinking to use a 4.3 or 4.4 firmware.
I want to root the phone, change the actual firm and SIM unlock the phone. Which step should i make first?
Maybe I can get a unlock code from the company, will this last forever?
A link to a newby thread will be ok too. I have been looking one hour and I was not able to find the correct answers.
Thank you very much
Buy a code, the 'free' unlock doesn't work on latest firmware.
Go read the sticky thread in general forum.
