[Q] ICS 4 Update ???

My Sl number is 1256-7812.3 >>> not on Sony Neo v Sl list
but Sony pc companion notified me there is update ics 4.0
i downloaded it >>> ICS 4.03
after that i cannot update it to ics 4.04 ?? why ??
i tried SUS notify me i have latest sw no update
not all regions get all updates, some don't even get it at all.
if you got 4.0.3, you will most likely get 4.0.4, question is when, and the answer is, no one knows
if you really want to get 4.0.4 right now, without waiting, you can flash 4.0.4 .ftf with flashtool

ok thanks for answer
Same was my state. All I did was download the region specific ftf file and flashed it using flashtool. Its a 5 minute job if you have all the files.

4.0.4 is the latest Android ICS update Samsung rolled out for the GS2. Formally, it will not change anything on your mobile. But, it is recommended to update to the latest OS version - enhances security and bug fixes (wifi etc).
on the top of all, it doesn;t brick anything. In case, you can backup all apps and data before updating your device.
There's a sticky thread in General Forum for this

If you have stock kernel and 403 firmware you can upgrade UK / Ireland unbranded version to the latest official 404 through Kies if not you can downlaod from Sammobile here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9100&pcode=XEU&os=1&type=1#firmware
Try connecting through Kies if you are on a fully stock version and you will get the same details as the upgrade so you can tell if its official, a rooted phone will still show the upgrade provided you do have the generic stock firmware and kernel
Currently there is no CWM root for this update though as Chainfire is on vacation so that will not be available until he is back and has time to do it.
i have roted this 4.0.3 ...and can i put this on my s2???

Yes, you can. It is using CM kernel so it don't have the superbrick bug.
