The issue was resolved in the latest ics firmware .45, buttons are more responsive. But if you're having a hard time pressing it, slide from transparent strip up to the dots and I can tell you, it is effective.

Nice one OP...... hope it ll look nice on our mdpi devices!
I agree. On-screen buttons could make a mess on such small screen.
And they are useless.

Well, then don't develop something that's not pleasing to use. I have no compassion for people asking for it.
I installed some of apps from Xperia S on my ST15i like weather, clock widget, dialer(contacts), have the World live wallpaper and Cosmic Flow wallpaper it works nice you can find all on this forum

Seems like a lot of people are getting the same problem... And it seemed that it is not only for CM9; but on almost all custom ROMs. This problem doesn't happen to everyone; but seemed to happen to quite a number of people (some quote from CM9 thread)

I also got this problem (both on speed rom 6.5 and energy stock 8/1).... I have no clue as to why it happen though. Happened to two different Amaze unit and doesn't happen all the time. So, it might not be hardware related; but, rather software related
this would happen if you used a 3rd party lockscreen on sense because the lockscreens mess with multi touch. try this out and see if it helps

OMG, i never thought of that. I did use Holo Locker because I don't like the fact that I can pull down the status bar on the lock screen (and I'm bored with sense locker too)
I probably have seen your thread; but, never really think it's related because I only realize the issue on the keyboard... I guess, I will try your fix and give an update later when I get back to my Amaze.
Thank you so much

Having the same issue but on CM9 there is no sense at all so it can't be the same reason...
I keep having the same problem. Especially when it comes to gaming. I tried playing Dead Trigger but the touch controls lag become so unresponsive. I tried running another ROM, and I don't have the issue. It appears only in CM9 for me

Try pushing power + home button simultaneously (for 5 sec or something like that)
Turn on motion in settings and then swipe the edge of your palm from one side of the screen to the other.

else turn on motion under setting > palm swipe to capture
then use your palm either swipe from left to right or right to left to take screen shot

Yeap... no crack there: he is right.
That combination has been the default method in stock ROMs since the days of the first Galaxy S, and even although the swype thing works in the S III, the PWR+HOME combo was kept.

what i meant was that the navigation keys dont correspond to the built in hardware keys, meaning the back nav key is on top of search button, menu nav key on top of back button, recent nav key on top of menu button, only the home key is on top of home button... any solution ?
