You're not very good at searching. I'm pretty sure that the international Atrix has been unlocked. Yes, ROMs work on it.

[Q] Upgrading firmware

I am kindly asking for help. I really want to have the newest firmware for my Ace but I am so confused by all these ROMs and CWMs and CFRoots etc. I have some knowledge about these things but I am new to Android. I see that flashing a new firmware with odin is not that complicated. But I have a problem. My phone is locked to Telenor network. Is it a problem? I dont know what is XXKA6 and can I install KPN?
Can I update???!!!
I don't know about the lock but KPL is for you its a Nordic version 2.3.3
*edit* Maby not, I didn't know telenor was in other country's than Nordics

You can flash to KPN. My phone is locked to Smart here in the Philippines but I'm enjoying KPN's benefits right now.
enjoy.

if you mean, if you can install ROMs that are available here in the forum, then yes, you can
Atrix
my atrix(not 4g) has android version si 2.3.4, and i found on motorola web site that atrix 4g has 2.3.6 latest update, and i wonder if i can instal that update on my atrix.
If you want to brick your phone, then yes if not, there's always the Bell 2.3.6 firmware which should work on all international Atrixes.
Sent from that Atrix... Motorola, where's my ICS?!

Yes, you can flash Bell 2.3.6 SBFs on stock or rooted firmware on UK atrix. Just be careful and know what you're flashing over RSD Lite.

[Q] when can i get jellybean uk unlocked officially? help

got the i9100 version or think thats it, not sure if its factory unlocked but it is now, when will it be available as at the moment you have to root and have a bootloader or something, so confused aha, thanks
I don't understand a word of what you're saying to be honest.. You're looking for official JB for the UK? In that case a simple search-and-read-combination would have shown you the available rom is from Spain but is flashable with Odin, also in the UK.

Ok, we get it, you have been smoking some crack tonight.
Only unbranded and O2 phones are factory unlocked.
If you cant work out your phone model theres not much hope.
You dont need root to use stock roms.
If you cant wait for UK unbranded official JB then use that Spanish one, or flash the LSJ leak using Odin
as Ive found it flawless.

Can I update my claro puerto Rican razr maxx with any jelly bean rom?

Or does the region make a difference? If so, why? I couldn't gather a definite answer to this.
Yeah ya correct ya can't flash different region kernels unless ya don't have root excess and ya have not erased ya cid .
Cid is customer identification no. And every mobile having an unique cid , as ya know we having locked bootloader hence we can't flash different region kernels .
There is only method to erase that cid and make a backup of ya cid ( keep it safe ) , for this ya need root excess
Thanks!!
Please hit the thanks button if i helped ya in anyways !!!
So it's possible to flash my phone with jelly bean from any region, but I need to go through the steps of erasing and backing up my CID first in order to do so?
Which of the stock JB ROMS would work on my phone without having to do this?

Yes !! I think there is no jellybean update for ya branded RAZR .
So ya need to flash different region jellybean unfortunately.
Thanks!!

Well, I do see that the Canadian and Brazil ones are considered "LATAM" (which I assume meant Latin America...even though canada is far from latin america)....
But mine is Puerto Rican, so, those wouldnt work?
IThat is retail and your is branded .
Ya can give a try but if ya messed ,there is no fastboot so ya need to wait till its available . I'm not dev but there is a guy name is hsd-pilot look out for him and ask if ya can flash Latam fastboot or not . He may help ya regarding ya question .
I just don't want ya to permanently brick ya phone so ask him
Edit : yeah ya can flash latam fastboot. I have confirmed it from one of the senior member
Thanks!!

I actually flashed the Fido firmware through RSD and rooted it since I was never able to root the Rogers one. If you would have to choose from one of the two, I'd go with the Fido one.
Awesome. I appreciate all of your help! Out of curiosity, are ALL of the Americas considered one region? Or is that undetermined?
Also, I read that Claro announced that my phone would indeed be getting the JB update. Would I still get this update even if I'm using the phone in the US on Straight Talk (same parent company lol) ?

I believe you would have to wait till someone uploads the official release (if/whenever it's released) and flash it through RSD (or recovery if someone makes a Rom out of that update), as being on a Fido or Rogers firmware would not allow your phone to find the Claro update. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.
Thanks.... but what if I choose to stay on my stock fw? Would I have to manually update or woulda I get an update automatically?

If u stay on ICS and only root it? Yes you should receive a notification as soon as it's ready for download.

One more question. In what case would one use RSD Lite, and in what case would one use the recovery mode shown in the third video in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155576) ?
