There is an app called undelete try that.
Not going to work and it's not samsung's fault. Android has moved away from UMS and is strictly using MTP.
And none of the undelete apps in the market work on mtp devices so I wouldn't waste your time.

I've used this with success for recovering files from my phone, not tried it on my tab but can't see why it wouldn't work for you.

Swyped from my finger to your face, on my Samsung Galaxy Note.
Try the undelete option from the tuneup utilities software with the tab mounted via cwm.
I've recovered some files from a USB pen drive some months back.

One good way to recover deleted files from Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 is to use an android data recovery software, see this guide: How to recover files from Samsung galaxy tab
Good luck.

I'm going to say that it can't be done. Deleting a file on android means it's gone forever. No recycling bin, no seccond chances. Sorry man. In the future do an automatic backup to Google Drive, then at least your pictures and videos will be safe.

Hi,
I'm planning to get a Galaxy S3 soon. I love everything about it but im confused about one thing. Thats the USB mass storage option. I currently use an Xperia Arc S. So when i plug my Arc S to my Laptop, the SD Card shows up and i can put my files in and out of the phone. the problem is there is no mass storage option on the galaxy s3 . Suppose, you want to put in Mp3 files onto your new GS3.Im not saying just mp3 files im saying all types of files in general. How do i put it in?I'm new to the whole MTP/PTP thing. and i dont understand it much. Could you please tell me like, how to transfer a file from your Windows pc/laptop onto your galaxy s3? I've had a hard time with this so If you make a vid on this it will gladly help me out. Simple English please. i'm a noob.
PLEASE help me.
Thanks
hopefully this will clear up my confusions.

plugin the S3 and you will have it as normal drive (mass storage) on your PC. Same process. You will have access to your internal as well as external SDcard

Why do you say that? I was planning to root it but you need Kies to root using the ODIN method.

In fact, it is very important for all Android users backing up their phone to computer, so that you can keep and restore all Android data from computer whenever the they are deleted/lost or gone due to formatting SD card, deleting accidentally, resetting to factory data, rooting phone, etc.

In detail > do u mean what programs i tried to use? if it is apps are (a2sp pro - link2sd - app2sd -gl to sd - and much more programs )
i just can not move apps or games to my external sd card
when i used (app2sd) program it gives me this msg : the device does not have a real primary external storage or the primary external storage is emulated .
My device is (samsung galaxy S3 - odin rooted )
any solution? thx in advance
I think your /sdcard is internal memory. The /mnt/extsdcard is external memory. If you removed your external sdcard do all your files and stuff disappear or are they still there?
If you are rooted I think you can change where everything gets mounted or maybe change it in your boot.img.
Also, it's not for nothing. Consider this an educational journey into the rich world of rooted phones.

First thx and about stuff disappear , no i can still see them whenever i use usb cable or any
its my first android so am new to expressions (your boot.img)
its ok just wanted to have more memory cuz my empty memory is 700 mb :S right now
and am using the factory rom ( maybe i have to setup rom so it can work?)
about education am afraid to educate on my s3 maybe i have to buy a cheap one until i learn how to use
thx again bro
Since you are rooted you can install a custom rom that has no bloatware. You'll get more space because it will only have the apps that you want

My Phone is:
Samsung galaxy s4 GT-I9505
Hope someone can help this noob out.
Need my phone to be ready befor end of the weekend (holliday)
So all the help is welcome.
Installed:
Clockwork installed now
Superuser rights.
only need help how to install the external to internal memory now.
Im not quite sure what youre getting at but ill give it a shot. Theres no way to swap the internal to external memory. Apps and their data get stored on the internal storage. By default theres only a couple things you can have saved to the external memory card. There is an app called folder mount that allows you to save apps/data on the memory card though.

you know a good 1 thats works for GT-I9505?
Thats a mod, i generally refer to conventional means of doing stuff. Anyway ive never used that and it doesnt store everything on the sd. Apps still get saved to internal storage while data/resources get saved to external. Like I said I would check out folder mount. See if that suits your needs.

Then i format to factory settings, then i checked and i could still boot to clockwork used the phone a bit installed superused rights.
then i tryed to put on factory settings again and did not boot anymore to recovery and also not to clockwork.

Once you install a custom recovery yoj cant boot to stock recovery because its overwritten by the custom version. Thats a mega thread for everything i9500 and i9505. I would try reflashing the recovery to see if it fixes it. If not you might have to odin back to stock. This is also the verizon specific forum for the s4 so posting in your devices specific forum would probably get you more help.

ill try the folder mount hope it works becoas my phone is full fast when i download a couple of games.
Not a problem. Glad i could point you in the right direction. If you made any backups you might want to move those to external storage. They are fairly large. I have a couple 1 gig+ games and several smaller ones and still have 5 or 6 gigs left.

Well the main problem was when i install a couple of games the main memory is full way to fast
thats why i wanted and hoped the swap would help the problem.
tho i just made more problems and consumed to mutch time :silly:
i think i just have to stick around on the problem and hope samsung will fix of have a solution to this in time.
i did not make any backups. so i just have to start frome scratch tomorrow.
thanks for all the help again and gl helping others.
You could also try the app Folder Mount in the Play Store here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en this will allow you to put the "data" folders associated with larger apps on the SD card. If you are looking to swap internal to external memory the other suggested thread will help you do that. There are pro's and cons to it and when you factory reset or change ROM's you need to do it all over again.
when i going to install anew rom i formate sd-card by wrong and now i want to recover only images :silly: because its very important to me please any way to recover it
Try recovery software online. I haven't tried it myself but since you need it then go try it yourself.

Format = no recovery
There's nothing you can do. Technically if you "format" or delete something from within the filesystem, the actual object still exists until it is actually overwritten with a new object. However, since you cannot mount the internal storage as a USB mass storage device on a computer, you cannot use proper, PC based recovery programs.
There may be some Android based ones that work although, many wont as they will only work on your external SD card. Payinbg for one would be a massive risk and I have my doubts that any would find anything to restore.
Moving forward - to prevent this happening again in future, or at least to ensure if it does happen, you're covered, look into this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.lite
I use this to sync my external and internal sd on alternative nights, to my PC that is always on over wifi whilst I sleep. I never lose any data. Also, images could auto upload to dropbox.
There is a software called recuva or something like that on the net. Try googling it. I did the same mistake once. I managed to retrieve some but not all. But at least some were recovered.

There are some apps which works on both Internal Storage & SD card.
Example : Undelete for Root Users
Undelete for Android is an application for root users that allows you to recover any deleted files from your SD card or internal storage.
From My Experience Undelete for Root Users is a very good app.
But Sadly Nothing can Restore any file that has been written over

First stop using the SD card anymore because it may over write the data. You just try SD card recovery software to scan your sd card, I have heard one software that is “Remo photo recovery tool” and this tool is appreciated by industry experts also according to testimonials. It may aid you to recover your data. good luck!

Hello and Happy Holidays everyone.
This is a general question preferably a quick thread too. Im planning on rooting my GS3 4.3 later tonight in hopes of being able to run a data recovery on the INTERNAL storage (lost some pictures, got dropbox running now, wont happen again). If I root, Is it pretty much a guarantee that ill be able to mount the drive on either OSX or Win 7 after that? Via app or just basic connection?
Thanks,
Seyy

Well when a new update comes out i always back up and then do a factory data reset. Just this time forgot to back up some photos of a BPL soccer match I went too. Just some photos that were on the internal drive. I still plan on doing a root and then attempting a data recovery via either windows software or Play app.
