Anyone use MX Player lately? - Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps

I found they upgraded the app recently with new h/w+ features. I can now get louder volume off mp4s which is what I primarily watch with downloaded podcasts. Performance is pretty zippy too.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app

Yes I have and it fixed the problem where it sometimes used S/W mode instead of H/W.
Not exactly sure what H/W+ does... Or what it does better than reg H/W but oh well.

Just got the 1.7 update and H/W+ makes everything better for anime. Also love the custom codecs, finally got DTS working with a compiled ffmpeg codec i made.

i love mx payer but i still keep bsplayer as a back and between the 2 ive not found anything that wont play

omg MXPlayer almost handles 10bit perfectly. I can see a bit of pixel problems sometimes, only needs a bit more of a push and it could literally play anything.
@everyone who says Bsplayer can play everything.
Try a 10bit mkv anime episode. You will see what it does.

Latest 1.7.2 is the best!

I would try meridian player that plays most formats. Its free from the marketplace
None of the suggestion work with .mov (quicktime) but I did find Mobo player that does. So far it's a good player but I've not messed with it too much. My sister is an Apple fangirl and sends me .mov files all the time and I just don't want to convert them to play on my Prime. Also my little 720p handheld camcorder records in .mov format.

Mx fails to play the audio on some of my Rips.... Dice never failed to play anything.
All the above players are good choices IMO, I have a couple of players handy in case I have problems with various formats.
I can't get Dice to work at all after today's update, just insta-closes as soon as it opens.

+1 on mx video player, supports every format and handles software and hardware acceleration. Not.to mention native dual core optimization.
Mx player
MX player only suports Native supported formats(MKV,AVI,MP4) with HW video acceleration.
Others formats are supported by SW Mode.
Diceplayer supports HW video accel. on any formats with H.264/MPEG-4 codecs.

why dice? i tried it out per your comment and its pretty hardcore riddled with ads, i didnt see a paid version.
though its network capabilities were definitely noticeable.
im still geared towards mx as far as compatability and fluidity.

LoL. Don't we all hate ads... Get ad blocker if that helps or get paid version
Here is link -> Paid Version.
If you have movie files that are really big, MX Player cant handle it for some reason, be it local or over the network. It is so so so so laggy. And its pointless converting (main reason being size. 720p/1080p files are BIG) everything you download just so you can watch on your mobile when there is no computer near by. So i found two solutions to this, either use plex or dice. And YES MX Player is a solid player no doubt, but for the reasons above, i prefer dice.
Im feelin mobo thanks for the feedback from everybody..

Best video player

hi guys, i just got myself this tablet and im loving it, im trying to play mkv files on the tablet but the player i have been using on my phone doesnt work that well on the tablet, (QQplayer)
what do ye recommend to play mkv files
MXplayer.....
and witch codec is it? or you dont install any codecs?
No codecs needed
I think BS Player Lite is better then MX Player. MX stopped support for DTS decoding and MX plays AC3 on SW mode and not HW. BS Lite has it's own HW engine and play AC3 on HW mode.
I agree, Bsplayer also have lan mode to stream without problems from my pc
Tried BS Player and it works fine! Plays Mkv without any problem and with sound
thank you for the suggestion

Yeah, I agree. I was using MX Player and was getting the force close issue where it intermittently quits playback. I changed to BS Player and no more issues.

I went to Google play and didn't show any VLC player (even Beta).

Thank you.

Stock.

Mxplayer if you use freaky-deaky codecs that you could basically only play using VLC player on your PC.
Stock for everything else. Stock plays a lot of different containers and codecs, and it has S Pen integration which makes it that much sweeter.
I was using MX Player. I'm now trying BSPlayer. So far it's great. Plays all the videos stock doesn't and MX did. I like BS because of the popup player. I find that very useful.
thanks guys

Stock for me, same for all five android phones I've owned.
Act 1 for me.
I like Dice-player best of all because it could handle some odd subtitles that nohting else could (at the time). Recently bsplayer now handles those subtitles and it has a nice interface but I've gotten quite use to dice and have no complaints. I used to like mx and mobo player but once I started using dice I dropped them - when I was recently re-testing the subtittle issue (and noticed bsdplayer update) I found mx (or was it mobo?) quite awkward (these things tend to be moving targets since all 4 of them are constantly updating). Anyways for now (as I have for the past year) will stick with dice as the primary and then use bsplayer as the fallback. I suppose if one day those two can't handle the video I'll recheck mx and mobo. Btw they are all quite small so there is little reason to not have all of them installed. Um - there was some issue with dice and google a while ago and the eventual outcome was the paid version was removed and the free version no longer has ads.
Anyways I think the gut of these players are all quite similar (ffmpeg) and it is just a question of interface and which one is updated most often (though it does appear that each does have some local mods; at least dice have). I have no clue why dice was the only one to support the specific subtitles I used for 9+ months but that with the clean user interface was a deciding factor for me.

For be I was studying for a registry exam and the 14 in depth videos I needed were unsupported on stock. They did play great on mx though. So basically they support a wider range of formats.

There are numerous threads that exist already on this topic... MX Player devs are currently working on an update for the N10 but as of now, BS Player is your best bet.

Just wondering, bsplayer is better than vlc? Never used bsplayer.
MX Player not really hardware accelerate (certain MKV file got sound issue and can only software render) for Nexus 10 at the moment. I am using BS Player now, it work nicely at Nexus 10.

I still get the 'DTS unsupported Audio Codec' error when I play HD mkv files on MX Player.
The videos plays just fine, but I don't get any audio.
BSPlayer on the other hand works perfectly. I would use that.

BSPlayer works fest for me, MX Player is a bit slower and has problems with some files.
This is in newest update already. I like MX's Interface Bettler though
Even with the update MX player still slightly stutters with mkv files I have tried 720p and 1080p
For me MX better (smoother) plays mkv 720p on software decoding.

Just know that SW decoding will drain your battery much faster than HW.
